stepfordwife · 03/07/2007 17:31

and that is

ComeOVeneer · 03/07/2007 17:54

Hi all, just had the joy of watching dd's end of term ballet class (whilst trying to stop ds joining in), then got drenched on the way home. Saw this thread and misread it thinking "OMG foxy is pregnant again" . Have we any meet ups planned in the near future?

foxcub · 03/07/2007 17:54
Grin
sfxmum · 03/07/2007 18:23

yes meet up, so when is the book thing and the dinner thing anyway? sort of lost track

Kewcumber · 03/07/2007 20:00

stuff the book and dinner things - how about agreeing a HP outing with a cheap dinner thrown in (gourmet burger on Richmond hill?)

Kewcumber · 03/07/2007 20:01

gherkin is really not well - think he has a very sore throat as won't swallow and cried every time he coughs (a lot!) . Hate it hate it hate it. No-one told me about how stressed you ge by them being unhappy on any of my adoption courses. What use is dealing with fecking racism to me just now eh?

sfxmum · 03/07/2007 20:03

did he see the doctor KC? not worth messing around with sore throat/ can't swallow does he have a temp?
and yes it is distressing

Paddlechick666 · 03/07/2007 20:07

QC, so sorry to hear little gherkin still isn't well.

i'd say go the medised, it'll really take the pain and fever away and help him (and you!) sleep.

deffo the GP for some ABs, he might have a throat infection.

hope he's better soon.

Kewcumber · 03/07/2007 20:12

temp is not so bad today - its just ike it was last time and GP said then don't worry about him not eating or drinking for a few days unless he has D&V too (which he doesn't) or he gets very listless and unresponsive (which he isn't). Last time he perked up after a couple of days and once he could drink again he improved dramatically. I'm hoping that he's be much better tomorrow and if he isn't I'll get my mum to take him to GP.

OK offtoscavnge something for dinner quickly as I think I'm going to be up and donw all night. Only went to sleep 30 mns ago and already woken once crying. Poor lamb.

Kewcumber · 03/07/2007 20:14

throat was very red last time but they didn;t want o give AB's at that stage. To e fair they were probably right as he started improving the next day and was right as rain teh day after that and I don;t think he's as ill as last time (at least not as high a temp). Have given him medised but I think the ibruprofen works better on him - have that tucked away for 10pm!

Paddlechick666 · 03/07/2007 20:22

ibuprofen is brilliant. the medised works well on dd coz it knocks her flat out.

my houseguests have crumbled and are curled up on the sofa bed snoring!

what to do? can't stay down here watching TV but too early for bed.

arg!

foxcub · 03/07/2007 20:24

I'm a big fan of Ibuprofen too

SushiMummy · 03/07/2007 20:41

QC, sorry DS is not well. Just in case you want to see a doc teddington walk-in centre is open till 10pm. We took our DS there when he had bronchitis and a very high temp. He was given paracetamol up the bum (dipositary?) and ABs.

I really hope he gets better soon and you can have a little rest.

Slink · 03/07/2007 20:43

Hi i am from Southall can i join in? i have a dd1 who is 6 and dd2 who is 6 and half months,

Paddlechick666 · 03/07/2007 21:29

hi slink, welcome! what;s southall like then? am house hunting at present and it's in my "catchment" area but no nothing aobut it.

i've brought my laptop upstairs and am MN-ing in BED and am pathetically impressed with myself LOL!

Paddlechick666 · 03/07/2007 21:30

it's the most action my bed's seen in a long time LOL.

guests are snoring like hippos downstairs - hope they don't wake dd!

2Cute · 03/07/2007 23:05

Welcome slink, ofcourse you can join in (provided you come with chocs and cake ) My in-laws live in Southall, you're not spying for them are you?

Poor mini QC Hope you both get some rest tonight.

lemonaid · 04/07/2007 07:50

I went to lunch in Southall with work colleagues last week, Paddle, so obviously I am now an expert and can tell you all about it...

Paddlechick666 · 04/07/2007 09:10

clearly an authority then Lemonaid!

btw, I emailed to your hotmail address. as i'm off to Sweden tomorrow I'll contact you via Facebook when I get back if that's ok?

mega-stressed here, no real reason other than lots to do today and work is requiring my attention - blardy rude if you ask me!

am going to book the cab with their booster seat and my CM has a funky attachment to fit the belt snugly that i can borrow.

lemonaid · 04/07/2007 09:14

Ah. Don't use hotmail much... I have other addresses on QC's contacts list and on my Facebook profile (the address on Facebook is best, actually).

sfxmum · 04/07/2007 09:17

morning all

welcome slink

KC so how is gherkin? did you manage to sleep?

paddle - have a lovely time
i am sure slink will let you know but Southall can be very mixed, and has changed a lot over the last 10 yrs.
i bought the fabric for my wedding dress there and we used to go there for dinner quite frequently and sometimes to Temple with friends (also nice food)

am at a loss as to what to do with dd was going swimming but she did not have a good night and waking up several times and this morning has been quite cranky.
i think i will take my chances with kew, at least it will tire her out

sfxmum · 04/07/2007 09:19

Facebook! you trendy people. or is that youthful?
i can never work out My Space Facebook etc.
am clearly an old fart!

Paddlechick666 · 04/07/2007 09:25

lol, Facebook is MySpace for grownups. Very addictive too.

ComeOVeneer · 04/07/2007 09:40

Mornign all. Well today is supposed to be reasonable weather so we are going to make the most of it, then bad again until Sunday. Unfortunately Saturday looks rotten, Typical when we have a school bbq in the afternoon and a second bbq in the evening for FIL's 60th party. I am also treating myself to a long over due hair cut on Saturday (from what I recall, the last time I went was before we moved (september I think ), and am toying with the idea after 18 years of blond highlights to going darker (have realised after letting it grow out so much I am really no longer a blond), but am I brave enough to take the plunge?

Kewcumber · 04/07/2007 10:29

sadly very litel sleep again. brufen and calpol are keeping his temp down (ish) but I think he has a sore throat and is teething for England (kazakhstan?) he isn;t so much dribbling as gushing. I'm sure I doesn't help.

I have been roundly told off for flirting on another thread with a single male (not driected solely at me). How disgustingly unladylike, making flirtatious (mildly) comments to a complete stranger on the internet

If they think thats flirting, they should lock their husbands up when I'm online as I will make it my personal mission to flirt with everyone at the moment inappropriate moments. I was cross about it yesterday but today the inanity of someone objecting to a bit of light-hearted banter because the OP is self declared male and single strikes me as amusingly Victorian. No isseus with the anal sex thread though I guess but a single male

Should I cat him and arrange a blind date, post a thread on it and try to get myself shunned for unsuitable behaviour?

I do actually think it's odd him being on here but frankly 10% opf the posters are probably single men!
