Brand new thread for July.

OP posts:
sfxmum · 04/07/2007 17:02

so foxie i guess this is the golden opportunity to get a whole new kitchen

lemonaid has completely fallen off the wagon
leave it

re weight i was about 10lbs lighter last year! been breastfeeding all the while

lemonaid · 04/07/2007 17:09

I know, I know. I was trying to be a Voice Of Sanity but I don't think it suits me, really.

I shall skip off into the distance and plait daisies into my hair, instead...

(if you all post lots on this thread really quickly then it'll bump the Other Thread down my Threads I'm On list and out of mind. You know it makes sense...)

lemonaid · 04/07/2007 17:10

Would like to blame still breastfeeding for my weight, but suspect it's likely to be the wine...

sfxmum · 04/07/2007 18:27

oh i give up!

dinner is ready but dh just texted saying he will be very late
and dd who has been resisting a nap all day just curled up in sofa and went to sleep

any takers?

foxcub · 04/07/2007 19:48

pmsl at that thread lemonaid

Kewcumber · 04/07/2007 20:03

DS has tonsillitis but at least he has AB's now.

CodOVeneer · 04/07/2007 20:05

Sorry to hear that KC, hope he now makes a speedy recovery.

Kewcumber · 04/07/2007 20:47

he woke every 45 mins last night and its looks like tonight will be the same. Think it takes a little while for the AB's to kick in but am going to wake him late night and give him second dose so he gets a good start on them.

xoxo · 04/07/2007 20:50

Oh poor gherkin....

sfxmum · 04/07/2007 20:53

KC sorry to hear the little one is poorly, most def. give AB on time.
not sure if they use it for little children but antiseptic& analgesic sprays for throat can be a relief

hope he does sleep some

SushiMummy · 04/07/2007 20:55

QC, poor DS. Hope the ABs kicks in quickly and DS and you can sleep better.

rosmerta · 04/07/2007 21:24

So this is where you're all hiding?! Though its my fault for not reading the last thread properly & missing the link!

KC, hope gherkin gets better soon.

Oxo, I remember a while back you recommended a babysitter but I can't remember her name, would you mind emailing me it? Unless you know of course, that she's not available!

Paddle, hope you have a good trip!

Paddlechick666 · 04/07/2007 22:03

evening all, well this is me signing off till next weds night.

wish me luck for a hassle free journey.

hope the gherkin is on the mend very very soon.

catchya all next week, stay safe out there kids!

foxcub · 04/07/2007 22:17

Paddle - have a fabbo time huny and get drunk for me will you?

please...

Kew - I was wondering how DS was. DS1 had tonsillitus for 2 years until we had his tonsills extrapolated, so I'm an expert on small wee boys who can't eat 'cos they're in such pain...
...can you spot I've been at the Rose?

If it recurrs keep an eye, but there is loads of sore throats going around at the Dcs school so no doubt he's picked it up from there (My DS1 had it last weekend but not half as bad as your DS)

You've got the job as my life coach anyway - those Polish chappies are marvellous - stark contrast between English builders and smart, neat, polite and professional Polish ones...

Hiya Slinky - I have DS 7, DD nearly 4 and Ds 4 months welcome to the wild west London thread

foxcub · 04/07/2007 22:18

[hic']

sfxmum · 05/07/2007 08:59

hello all

KC hope night was ok

we off to swimming pool should anyone like to come along too

Kewcumber · 05/07/2007 10:18

Had a bad night (don;t you feel such a heel forcing ab's down their throat ) but I think he seems a little brighter this morning though I can;t belive that 2 doeses would work that fast. He's eaten so little that he's really shaky and hasn't drink much all week. Poor thing, still hopefully he will get better every day now.

have a nice time Paddle.

Foxie the flirtatious thread (in the lone parents section) was so ridiculously mild that it was hilarious that certain posters got so high and mighty about it. I've made more risque commetns on this thread wihout a fuss! But the thread was started by a single male , imagine, women talking to a single man .

TBH I doubt his motives too and he probably is looking for a date but some of the commetns about it wouldn't be out of place at a conservative ladies lunch in Tunbridge Wells.

Kewcumber · 05/07/2007 10:29

kingston mumsnetter go and convince her to joine us - she;s worried that she isn't keeping on top of the household... think she'll fit right in! Sorry Cov I exclude you from that seewping generalisation

lemonaid · 05/07/2007 10:38

I have a pregnant friend who lives in Sunbury who I'm trying to force to join up...

QC, what about ice lollies (freeze your own from Good Stuff, even)? Can be soothing to sore throats and a good way of getting liquids into them, although [ glares suspiciously through window ] it's not exactly the weather for them, more ice-falling-from-the-sky weather.

Kewcumber · 05/07/2007 10:39

Lemonaid - I know when he's really ill when he won't even eat ice cream!

SushiMummy · 05/07/2007 10:53

One of the toughest things about parenting is sleep deprivation, to me anyway. So I feel for you, QC. Get well soon, Gherkin!

Have a lovely holiday, Paddle!

Kewcumber · 05/07/2007 10:58

I missed out on the early months of sleep deprivation so its always a shock to me when he's ill. I haven't had the taining for it

GloriaMumble · 05/07/2007 11:27

Hi, I've wandered over from the other thread on Kewcumber's recommendation.... I'm in Kingston too, I have DD 7.5 months. Hello everyone

oneplusone · 05/07/2007 12:00

Hello, thanks to all of you the house is still a complete mess but now I don't care, I will tidy it when the kids have left home

I'm in Kingston too, have DS 14 months and DD nearly 4. Would love to meet up.

Kewcumber · 05/07/2007 12:08

the weather is so rubbish at the moment. When the weatehr is good, daytime meet ups tend to revolve around Kew gardens with a few sidelines to a few otehr places. Rainy day places - Lollipop club in Richmond (surrently out of favour due to thumping incident wioth PAddles DD), Chiswick CHilds play cafe and in my ase Mothercare cafe in Kew is a big favorite!
