Kewcumber · 03/07/2007 10:53

have had to keep gherkin home today but my wonderful mother has taken him. Won't have a word said against her. Poor woman has him tomorrow too she may need a week to recover! He had a bad night, high temperature but nothing identifiable wrong with him. He has started drinking normally today though which is always a relief.

So I am in work with about 5 hours sleep and a stonking headache and no nurofen.

SushiMummy · 03/07/2007 11:07

2cute, thanks! I feel a lot better now.

QC, poor DS. Hope he gets better soon. My GP suggested more than one occasion to give DS glucose in water when he had D&V. It seemed have worked on my DS. Just a thought... Glad you like the chocolate.

We are deffo going to Riverside Fayr. It'd be great to see you there!

Hope everyone else is well.

Kewcumber · 03/07/2007 11:51

"Like" is not a sufficient word for that chocolate Sushi (and bear in mind I am no particular chocolate lover). Do come around again... soon... if I'm not in just post the chocolate through the door.

I'm sure it cost a gazillion pounds (very rude of me to say so ) but on the offchance I have some spare cash where on earth did you buy it? Does it contain illegal drugs ( would explain how much I like it). And its mostly dark chocolate so really it counts as health food, doesn;t it?

lemonaid · 03/07/2007 12:09

Ah, no, 2Cute, I am [ checks how old DS is and does some quick arithmetic on fingers ] twenty-one. Or maybe twenty-four. I like the sound of twenty-four...

SushiMummy · 03/07/2007 13:24

Lovely, aren't they QC? The shop is in Richmond, just behind Dickins & Jones. William Curley has been featured in magagines and national/local paper so must be good. Mrs Curley is Japanese and they make delicious Japanese cakes and icecream, too. Yes, it's a little pricy but we mothers deserve some yummy things from time to time, don't we?

Hope you are feeling better.

Kewcumber · 03/07/2007 13:38

I thought the knobbly long one with the crunchy raspberry'ish coating was a work of genious far surpassing the (much over-rated in my opinion) Mona Lisa.

this is bordering om the obscene ladies might have to slap an R rating on this thread

dh has to be dragged kicking and screaming from that shop putting toddler tantrums to shame.
before he goes to Richmond he must say his mantra 'turn right to the library not left to heavenly choc shop'

feeling pleased with self since i managed to go for a jog early in the morning then took dd to playground, if i knew the weather would hold i would have gone to the gardens for a proper run around.

Kewcumber · 03/07/2007 14:00

hoqw did I not know about it before - why have you withheld this information from me SFX?

DS still not well - spoke to my mum and she's considering taking him to doctor but I don;t think they'll do anything, think he jusrt has a sore throat and temperature and won't drink or eat again. I think the diarrhea was a red herring.

sfxmum · 03/07/2007 14:10

the pleasure of discovery the torment of knowledge

KC maybe it is worth just GP just having a look particularly if it keeps the mind at ease.

i thought dd was coming down with something yesterday but she woke up quite perky today i am a complete wuss when it comes to dd being unwell, fortunately she hardly ever has been (fingers firmly crossed)

Kewcumber · 03/07/2007 14:15

i have told her to use her own judgement and see if he will eat some ice cream (the last resort - if he wont eat that then he really is ill)

foxcub · 03/07/2007 14:45

Hi everyone

My house is full of Polish men

Still haven't decided what to do about work...

Ho Hum

Kylie in Dr Who should be interesting!

oh and please desist from talking about chocolate - its the Devil's work!

Kewcumber · 03/07/2007 15:31

its dark chocolate foxie, its a bit like vegetables - so very good for you...

stepfordwife · 03/07/2007 17:08

hi all
how you all diddling?

sorry to hear of assoreted illnesses - hope ds feels better soon, kew. when they're ill, you just long for them to resume naughty, lairy business as usual, don't you?
ohhhh lightening - quite scared of of it, actually

went on school trip to science museum wit ds2's class today. fun, but exhauasting..too much responsibility! but when we got back to school as a "treat" went to the STAFF ROOM for a coffee. rather tame, though.

don't know about you, but staff-rooms from my schooldays were smoke-filled, dirty coffee cup strewn pits.
and i'm off on a trip with ds1's class on thurs. that's my contribution out of the way for a few terms

i might pop along to riverside fair on 14th - especially if there's a dalek...
right, token bit of work..
toddlepip

stepfordwife · 03/07/2007 17:11

hope you find someone oxo..my cm would be over her numbers, so can't ask her

sfxmum · 03/07/2007 17:12

THE WEATHER!!

dd very amused by thunder and lightning

Paddlechick666 · 03/07/2007 17:15

SFX, you sure you're not English?

QC, hope gherkin is better soon....

hi everyone else, friend is here safe and sound and in the pub

2Cute · 03/07/2007 17:23

Blimin' weather! I was just aboutto leave for Tesco when the sky decided to open up! Though I do have fab view of some dishy builders opposite our house (not that I'm looking )

Hope mini QC gets better pronto. I know what you mean, it's horrible seeing them ill. Apparently there's been yet another bug doing its rounds so he may have that. God only knows how the extremely brave parents of kids with illnesses cope.

I'm off with DS on his nursery's trip to Beale Park tomorrow. We were told to take the kids swim suits but I think it'll be for the rain not the pool at this rate!

2Cute · 03/07/2007 17:24

Yep, I can't type...

stepfordwife · 03/07/2007 17:31

feck it..
my printer won't work as it's been rained on through an open window [angry} but more {blush] as sitting at my desk and didn't notice.
reckon i'll be able to claim for it on insurance as "act of god/nature
