Almost made it to the end of the month. Children are gone. I am free until Sunday lunch

can't beleive that we haven't met we must go in at about the same time, but perhaps you go in a little eariler as I drop DS off at 7.45, at the tube by about 8am. My DS goes to a lovely childminder (thank you Foxie ) but she doesn't have any spaces. I could ask her if she would recommend anyone if you like? I presume you need 5 day care?

Kewcumber · 18/06/2007 15:05

harness hasn't really been necessary until he learnt to run last week - caught me a bit by surprise!

quokka · 18/06/2007 15:11

I nearly lost ds2 in the lift the other day. Another danger of living on the 18th floor! I was opening the front door and the little bugger just mangaged to reach the button and the doors opened he got in and the doors shut. I mananged to press the button again before the lift started going down. Can you imagine me running down the stairs with ds1 trying to find the floor he got off in this heat !

Anyone heard from foxy?

Kewcumber · 18/06/2007 15:12

its a laugh a minute at your place isn;t it Quokka - a new teething problem every day!

WHERE IS FOXIE?

SushiMummy · 18/06/2007 15:29

Yes, I really hope the meeting went well for Foxie.

My promotion has been postponed till further notice so am a bit myself.

Well, so far, DS seems to enjoy the nursery and I like the stuff so not a major urgency but we will need to think about finding a childminder when DS starts school in a few years. Am thinking Kew College. Anyone else going there or thinking the same?

I normally get 7.47 train, if lucky, 7.40. I used to get 5.38 train which was a bit mad.

Paddlechick666 · 18/06/2007 15:47

QC, I've got a plate of yours I think....

SushiMummy · 18/06/2007 15:53

stuff = staff

Kewcumber · 18/06/2007 16:29

yes you have paddle but no rush.

DS will be going to the cheap local state primary! Don;t want to think about secondary as I'm hoping some of the lcoal ones will have improved by then as I can't see me scraping together the money to go private even then...

foxcub · 18/06/2007 16:31

Bet you all thought I'd been bumped off eh?

Paddlechick666 · 18/06/2007 16:35

oooh foxie, spill the beans! how did it go?

stepfordwife · 18/06/2007 16:37

WEEEELLLLLLL???????

Paddlechick666 · 18/06/2007 16:43

god talk about a cliff hanger!

Kewcumber · 18/06/2007 16:49

c'mon I only have 5 mins before I have to leave...

Paddlechick666 · 18/06/2007 16:51

part-timer!

pudding77 · 18/06/2007 16:55

how did it go foxie?

foxcub · 18/06/2007 17:26

Sushi I went to Kew College !!! [street cred disappears down the pan...]. I know some Kew College children and their Mum likes it a lot. Unicorn is very popular too...

BTW I dropped DD off at nursery this morning and realised she had no pants on !! Luckily they had some spare ones!

SFX - that thread is very, very creepy isn't it? Poor woman! I think a visit from the local police to the perv would be in order...

Well I met my boss and in between DS2's burping and farting I managed to get some concessions:

He will process my pay rise and backdate it (by about 6 months ). He's agreed to put me on the top of the scale, which is more than I was expecting (whispers "bribery")

He will reconsider options for the relocation of my team - including an option to move them to their own office - which would actually be quite advantageous

He has agreed to keep me updated every few days regarding the various options for relacting my team

So the relocation issue hasn't been resolved but at least he's agreed to look at alternative ideas. TBH it would be great to have our own office for the team (we have an open seating policy at work - no offices except for Directors)!

He was fairly reasonable TBH so I can't complain, but I do need to keep my eye on the ball for the next few weeks and ensure there are no further shenanigans

foxcub · 18/06/2007 17:28

that should have read "various options for relocating my team"

Not relactating my team!

ComeOVeneer · 18/06/2007 17:43

Pmsl at "relactating". Pleased to here it went pretty well Foxy, but I agre, you mustn't get complacent, make sure they remember you still exist.

That's good news, foxie! Well done!!!

Thought DH has to be a member of England rugby team to be in Unicorn...? Also, I was told there's a long waiting list for the Queen's which would be our preference otherwise. Kew College seems to be the cheapest in the area...

I obviously have to research a bit more.

mellow2 · 18/06/2007 18:17

Good news, foxie.

I agree that you have to keep an eye on the situation to make sure he keeps his word.

mellow2 · 18/06/2007 18:21

Quokka,
Ds2 getting into lift by himself sounds quite scary. It's a good thing he's not old enough to press the buttons yet.

Kewcumber · 18/06/2007 19:46

Kew college does seem reasonably priced but I'm hoping to get DS into riverside which has a good rep (so far) and is considerably cheaper

SFX also read that thread, major league creepy

Foxie - that sounds like a result. Excellent. My employment adive fees are extremely reasonable so at 2 hrs times my hourly rate, that'll be....

foxcub · 18/06/2007 19:51

Sushi - Queens is a very popular state school and you just need to be in the catchment area, which is about 3/4 mile from the school realistically. It is also CoE, so you need to attend church regularly. Its very pushy and I know 3 families who have taken their children out, plus another whose son is being bullied. Not to my taste, but lots of loud over acheivers seem to like it

Unicorn is fab but the people I know who have children there put their names down from conception, or at least birth.

R U in Kew? (sorry, brain like a sieve)

foxcub · 18/06/2007 19:53

Hi Kew - sorry I just got your text 30 mins ago - my handbag turned my phone off - spooky!

You should get Ds into Riverside easily as uyou are so close!

Kewcumber · 18/06/2007 19:54

think Sushi is over the other side of the railway line to us Foxie but in Kew.
