Almost made it to the end of the month. Children are gone. I am free until Sunday lunch

dd finally asleep, she was far too excited by the gathering earlier, thanks for having us KC.

she kept holding out for a nap and crashed at 6 for an hr waking up just in time to tell dad all about the boys and girls she met also to complain that we did not go to playground today

off to watch glasto from warm sofa

sfxmum · 24/06/2007 22:25

and lovely to see you all today

lemonaid · 24/06/2007 22:30

Thanks from us too, QC -- DS too crashed for a looong nap when we got back.

SushiMummy · 24/06/2007 22:33

through = throw

DH had a nap! Yes, he was saved by the weather. Garden still a mess.

It was really nice to meet you all finally. I was imagining what you would be like in RL and you all lived up to my expectations!

Eels are an acquired taste, true, but they are highly aphrodisiac.

sfxmum · 24/06/2007 22:36

is that for the man or the woman sushi? dh will seldom touch fish and eels are just a step too far
in fact when i want fish that looks and tastes like fish i have to eat out or at my aunts place

SushiMummy · 24/06/2007 22:42

For both, sfx. All slippery and slimy food is good sex food.

Fresh fish is not supposed to smell fishy. If you go to these fish markets in Japan, it doesn't smell of fish at all. Amazing, eh?

ComeOVeneer · 25/06/2007 09:46

Morning all. Sorry I didn't make it to you yesterday KC. Was laid up in bed all day with a temp, headache, sore throat etc. Dh was left in charge of chilldren and house. Do men really not get what needs to be done? DD had no ironed school uniform for this morning. The laundry hadn't been hung up so is sitting wet in the machine. Living room and playroom looks like bombsite, kitchen is a state, clean unemptied dishwasher and dirty plates etc all over tha place. Hadn't made DD's pack lunch or sorted out book bag, clothes etc for this morning. As a result dd was late for school for the first time . After dropping d, and on the way to the station, I (camly) expressed my disappointment and annoyance at the state of the house. He got all defensive (clearly a sign of guilt I think), saying "well I had to look after the children all day, I can't be expected to do everything, after all it is the weekend when it is my chance to relax"!!!!!!

Whilst I accept that he does work damn hard during the week and deserves to relax t the weekend (as do I), if one of us is sick then the other ha to pick up the slack, after all I'm sure when we got married there was something mentioned about "in sickness and in health". So now despite still feeling pretty rotten I have a tonne of stuf to do today in order to catch up. He really doesn't seem to get it, and after 16 years together I doubt I will ever get him to.

Sorry bit of a rant this morning . Hope everyone had a god weekend, despite the weather. Any more daytime meets planned for the near future? I will go check the other thread. What about Nanou's leaving do, have we progressed with that at all?

OP posts:
foxcub · 25/06/2007 11:16

CoV - totally agree with you . My Dh seems to want to relax a bit too often to! I'm always saying things like "how come Mr X at No X spends his weekends tidying the garden/cutting the grass/tidying up/painting/insert any little job that needs doing, and all you want to do is read the sports pages of the newspaper ALL DAY?"

To which he responds by skulking off, muttering "nag, nag, nag"... [gggrrr]
Men huh!?!

we off swimming tomorrow should anyone like to come along

mellow2 · 25/06/2007 13:00

stepfordwife · 25/06/2007 13:03

grand to see everyone and to meet sushimummy and lemonaid (and you too sfx as don't think a wave on foxie's path constitutes a proper meeting!)

mellow - pimms queen. thankyou

and what a gorgeous gathering of exceptionally attrcativbe children, eh? (not that we're biased..)

foxie - shame you couldn't make it. liking the sound of your kitchen revamp. no worries about dd's cup, next time..

toodlepip

stepfordwife · 25/06/2007 13:05

CoV - hope you're feelig better soon. my lot are spluttering a tad, still got packed off to school and cm, though..

stepfordwife · 25/06/2007 13:08

hmmm, sushimummy..how did you imagine us all, then?!
(don't panic, strictly rhetorical question..)

how do you rate that japanese restuarant in richmond? can't remember what it's called but in red lion street near cinema

ComeOVeneer · 25/06/2007 13:18

Thanks, I'm stillfeeling rotten, but, surprise, surprise have manage to look after ds, tidy kitchen, unload and load dishwasher, make beds, tidy living room, and playroom, clean all bathrooms and hoover house. I know dh is spectacularly undomesticated and I have given up trying to change him, but surely even he could see that if I am laid up in bed sick he can't get away with simply feeding the children (they never even made it out oftheir pj's yesterday ?

Kewcumber · 25/06/2007 13:19

my oddest japanese meal was on business... in Shanghai! What possessed them to take us for a Japanese? Still it was quite nice.

Kewcumber · 25/06/2007 13:22

Cov - I think your Dh comes form the same school of childcare as I do... think I am a man. I would quite happily let DS roam around all day in his jim-jams if only we didn't have to go out. And I'll only buy clothes that don't need ironing.

sfxmum · 25/06/2007 13:26

COV i am pretty sure it is not genes no matter what they try to say. hope you feel better soon give yourself a treat

all that talk of japonese food made me long for miso so i got some instant stuff, not the dame but i like it

rosmerta · 25/06/2007 13:36

Hi all, am back now! Great weekend, tho v tiring. But it was nice to pick ds up from nursery & have him run over to us to give us a cuddle! And my mum & dad tidied up the garden for us so that's a bonus!

ComeOVeneer · 25/06/2007 13:44

Pleased you had a good time, so where did you go, what did you do, lots of shopping?

Dd is outgrowing her baby car seat. Does someone have a second hand car seat they would like to sell to me? I wouldn't buy a 2nd hand car seat from anyone else but I trust you lot. Dd is 14 months old.

ComeOVeneer · 25/06/2007 13:50

Mellow I have a britax eclipse, in burgundy, slightly sun faded but otherwise absolutely fine and gaurenteed never been in a crash. Make me an offer.
