hi QC, good to see you this arvo. hope my neighbour being a screamer wasn't tmi for your Mum!

carried dd most of the way back but believe me she ate a HUGE tea and was zonked out by 6:50pm.

the beach at kew is pretty cool, no water tho. something to do with The Med apparently.

Kewcumber · 10/06/2007 20:12

Oh yes they are havong a mediterannean summer I think. No my mum has a strong stomach for "screamer" conversations - she has always been fairly liberal (much to my as a teenager)

Paddlechick666 · 10/06/2007 20:47

good on your mum!

neighbours bbq never materialised thank goodness - they are being very quiet tonight LOL!

H just rang from Lithuania, am in shock!!

Kewcumber · 10/06/2007 21:45

shock because he's in Lithuania or shock because he rang?

Paddlechick666 · 10/06/2007 21:48

because he rang, i knew he was in lithuania.

foxcub · 10/06/2007 21:55

What did he want Paddle?

Kew - I must have the wrong venue in Sheen then!

Yeah, maybe DS is a bit young for the actual equipment at the Anglers. Lots of LOs there though.

foxcub · 10/06/2007 21:56

Thanks for your help earlier Kew

Right, awwff to bed now

Kewcumber · 10/06/2007 21:57

where did you go in Sheen then? can't think of an expensive child friendly place...

foxcub · 11/06/2007 10:02

KewC - it was doen one of the side roads. A trendy pub/bar with a childrens play area in the garden and posh food. It was a side road off the Woolworth's side, going towards Richmond, down an otherwise residential side street.

Will give your cup and clip/rice cakes to CM later.

Overslept by ONE HOUR this morning (up half the night fretting about "The Grievance" ) - otherwise I would have remembered to to it this morning!!

foxcub · 11/06/2007 10:03

BTW "doen" is "down" but pronounced with a posh accent

Paddlechick666 · 11/06/2007 10:14

morning foxie, i wish i could oversleep! keep waking up at 5am but at least i can have a shower and coffee in peace before dd wakens herself!

regards H, there's been some contact the last week or so. have agreed access arrangments which include a daily call to dd and visits on Sundays. i will reply to texts when he's out of the country but otherwise he must call me.

so, he's in lithuania as they're re-launching the show tonight from there. have had quite a few texts etc but never expected a phone call so it was really a nice surprise. by all accounts it's been a full on few days but he seems to actually be thriving on the buzz of it all.

he seems very much more clear and focussed and confident in himself so good for him. at the very least if we can remain friends and parent dd then that's a good start....

oh, and i've sold my flat

ComeOVeneer · 11/06/2007 10:55

Morning all. Hope you all had a good weekend. I too was awake at 5am this morning, but thatr was because I fell asleep at 8.10pm last night .I think that was because I was up early in the morning, then washed the car, mowed the lawn, went round the supermarket, then the garden centre and spen the afternoon gardening. My back is aching this morning. Good news about the flat paddle. Have you decided where you are going to move to yet? Foxy, hope you get your work situation sorted quickly.

Kewcumber · 11/06/2007 11:01

I had a lie in - DS didn't wake until 5.30

Paddlechick666 · 11/06/2007 11:07

blood hell CoV, not surprised you were asleep by 8pm last night!

am still hoping to be able to stay around this area one way or another at least!

QC, can't believe you've wasted half the day lolling around in bed!

Kewcumber · 11/06/2007 11:08

left him in bed for 15 minutes trying to get a tiny bit more shut eye but he has developed a nifty line in indignant angry squawks that are impossible to ignore. Little treasure.

Paddlechick666 · 11/06/2007 11:24

think dd would sleep longer if i weren't up and about tbh. floorboards creaking and shower going definately disturb her.

she's still quite happy to chat to herself for a while tho so i can't complain...... too much!

foxcub · 11/06/2007 11:33

Paddle - congrats on selling your flat!!!

Well I've written my grievance (thanks for the supprt Kew) and have left a message for my boss saying I have written it and he has until 5pm to call me and resolve the situation, otherwise I will click "send" LOL!!!

stepfordwife · 11/06/2007 11:42

hi all
brighton was fab - saw the big naked bike race which was hilarious
back to reality and my desk today
foxie - well done on getting it written up. sure your boss will ring you. sending you positive vibes
paddle - well done on selling your flat
kew - the "play area" at the hare and hounds consists, if memory serves me right, one swing.
hmmm, this other place foxie's been to intrigues me, though.

quokka · 11/06/2007 12:19

bike race sounds fab stepford!

Foxy sorry your having trouble at work, I didn't realise - big hugs to you

Have decidesd the only way to solve our window prob is to have metal grilles put in, so have a man coming tomorrow to discuss. We still have no gas or hot water, but they are seding someone tomorrow to sort it out hopefully (fingers crossed. Just as welll the boys like cold showers

If its any consolation I was up all night with the boys (jetlag) because dh had his first day at work today and needed a good night sleep. Think we are about to get a big storm through, very breezy here and we haven't had rain for 3 days! I'm sure the boys will wake again for that.

Kewcumber · 11/06/2007 12:33

think metal grilles will save your sanity Quokka even if you don't like them! Have you sorted out how to get Ocado to deliver yet?

Steppie - hare and Hounds no good then? Foxie - do you mean the victoria? Didn't think they had a garden but food is v good but v expensive.

Kewcumber · 11/06/2007 12:34

Steppie - one of our designers spent teh weekend in Brighton - perhaps she went to watch the bike ride too , didn;t realise thats why you were going.

ComeOVeneer · 11/06/2007 12:46

Lovely to "see" you Quokka, hope you are settling in. I know what you mean about the windows, in Chicago we were on the 33rd floor and the windows opened. Only a small bit and they all had metal mesh on the outside, but I was still nervous about the children being anywhere near them.

OP posts:
stepfordwife · 11/06/2007 12:49

kew, wasn't WHY i went, but an added extra. one (well endowed) chap riding a unicycle looked a tad uncomfortable, though
tbh, had forgotten about the great naked bike race and, at first, thought it was just a typical saturday afternoon in brighton
h & h still nice boozer, as long as you're not expecting a state-of-the-art adventure playground!

quokka - nice to hear from you. yep, get those grilles up
foxie - has that boss picked up the phone yet?

Kewcumber · 11/06/2007 12:54

yeah right Steppie - whatever you say
