Almost made it to the end of the month. Children are gone. I am free until Sunday lunch

Quokka, I know your window problem. Ours open out as well. Yesterday I caught DD trying to climb up to the windowsill. One knee on it, one foot dangling down under the curtain. The curtains were close so I just saw the one foot dangling down. I told her off loud and clear an my meanes tstrictes "you will be dead and you will never see mummy or daddy again" kind of telling off. But, I don't think it phased her. Bet I scared the neighbors though. I'm quite sure their parents won't let come over to play again.

Right, so can you buy window guards? I don't want to (am not able to) spend a fortune, but I also don't want a dead 4 year old. Scares the crap out of me. And it's really bad in the summer when we have no air con.

Ele get one of these then you can have it open enough for air but no chance of falling out.

could you fit some kind of insect netting Ele?

We have plasticedouble glazing which won't hold the screws. We tried gluing them and they cam off.

can't you get special screw - sure I've screwed stuff into UPVC before (I think?)

shocking isn;t it - he's had a growth spurt is about 2 inches bigger than 2 months ago I think he just genereally looks healthier and more relaxed (but then I would think that wouldn't I!)

Don't know if it just the photos but he looks like he has more colour to his face (def looks happy and healthy these days).

no it isn;t just the photos - once he got a bit of sun he went a lovely golden colour - his skin was much more caucasian coloured before but apparently just due to lack of sunlight (he never went outside)

I wasn't sure, but he certainly looked pale and less healthy in the earlier pictures.

and he looked healthier than teh other kids! We used to joke that the caucasians kids were translucent babies they were so pale.

Oh Kew, that makes me feel very sad - about the kids being pale and not being able to enjoy going outside

My boss still hasn't called!!!

HR told him to call me today to avoid a grievance.

The grievance is going off at 6pm if he hasn't called...

Am very . The kitchen fitters where supposed to be here at 3.30pm to go over the plans for the new kitchen. DD was upset we couldn't go to the park after school as we had to rush home.... They still haven't arrived and the showroom can't get in touch with them. It doesn't bode well for when they actually come to do the job.

Phew, think that's everyone! Having a busy day today, had my first course tutorial which was interesting, and am off out tonight to meet my NCT branch committee. I have to get involved so they will agree to pay for most of the course!

Well he finally pitched up at pm, said he was told it had been changed to then . All the additional work (resighting sockets, installing oven etc) adds another £2000 onto the price. DH will send me back to work at this rate .
