Hi, I know there are a few of us in Dorset so would anyone be interested in a meet up? I'm not a usual mumsnetter as I don't have any children.....yet but thought it would be nice to meet some/all of you so roll up roll up

Sorry I've not added to this thread and that the Saturday meet up never evolved , i've never felt so rough!!! Still, all in a very good cause.

Hopefully it'll pass very soon then I will definitely be up for brownies etc at CP and maybe we can persuade Lou to join us

Hello DG. Just think , every time you have your head over the toilet bowl, that it is for a good cause, it will be worth it in the end. Then , when your baby is old enough to understand, never let them forget how much you suffered for them

DelGirl · 07/09/2004 20:28

oh, I won't Lou, I won't. It is slightly easier to bear now i've seen him/her but still bl**dy awful

I'm Dorset. But not Bournemouth - miles away. what about mid Dorzet?

DelGirl · 07/09/2004 20:30

Sure enid. Are you many miles from Bournemouth?

OP posts:
enid · 07/09/2004 20:32

About as far as it is possible to be and still be in Dorset! Sherborne.

DelGirl · 07/09/2004 20:34

Maybe we could have a Blandford meet then?

OP posts:
enid · 07/09/2004 20:40

Could do Blandford.

DelGirl · 07/09/2004 20:41

hi delgirl - hope you are feeling better. Didn't say before but am also about 8/9 weeks due April 19 (which is around yours isn't it?). Never had MS with DS, now for last week just feel really queasy and yuk (but not actually throwing up thank god!) Would love to meet up for coffee and chat and other dorset mums - lets try and sort something?

DelGirl · 12/09/2004 16:18

That's exciting Merlin, haven't checked the April thread yet so hope to see you on there. I'm due on the 21st so we can compare notes over a decaff. Still feeling rotten at the mo but that's for the other thread.

Hello. Thought I would revive this thread as my m/s seems to be on it's way out at last and am champing at the bit for a bit of social life again.

Have been chatting to the lovely Kittypickle and we're both wondering about organising an evening meet in a couple of weeks. Suggestions welcome but we have thought of perhaps meeting in Wimborne if anyones up for it. Better class of pub etc Better still, if anyone fancy's eating out then I know the Olive Branch is really lovely (the old Dormy hotel).

Merlin, I have tried to CAT you but your profile won't receive them.

Hope to hear from you Darset Gals asap!!

Hi again DelGirl, lovely to talk to you earlier and am keeping my fingers crossed that the m/s keeps fading. Congratulations Merlin, looks like Poole Hospital is going to be busy in April If people would prefer to do a daytime one, I do like the sound of the chocolate brownies bit !

DelGirl · 26/09/2004 23:18

yes sorry, meant to say daytime too for all the choc brownie lovers

Bunglie · 27/09/2004 10:04

Hi DelGirl and all,
I REALLY would love to meet up with you but I live the Dorchester end of Dorset and rely on public transport...trains...so I can take my electric buggy.
Please keep me posted if you come up with somewhere and a day and I shall see what I can arrange. I think transport would be my biggest problem as the last train to where I live is quite early so the evenings are not much good for me.
How many MNers are in Dorset???

Bunglie · 27/09/2004 10:06

Just seen you are due on 21st April DG....Isn't that Saint Georges Day?
How about George or georgina??

DelGirl · 27/09/2004 14:44

Hi Bunglie. It would be great if you could meet up. I can definitely make an afternnon if it suits you better as I have no ties...at the moment . Just say when and we'll work around it. Does that mean I get double brownies

Oh, they;ve moved my date to the 22nd which i'm quite pleased about cos the 21st is apparently Hitlers birthday. The 23rd is St Georges. No telling when it'll be born though, obviously

Bunglie · 28/09/2004 10:20

Almost any afternoon except Thursdays, and Fridays are often a bit 'sticky' but could swap things around.
Wouls you like to meet somewhere local to you or me?
The train I would catch is the Waterloo to Weymouth train, so it stops at almost every stop between where I live and Bournmouth. IHTH

I would really love to meet with you and the other Dorset mums.
DG, Janh has my email, so I am sure she would not mind passing it on to you I will email her to tell her it is OK, but since I got some nasty emails I have been a bit cautious. I hope you understand.

MTS · 28/09/2004 10:24

DG - only 5% of babies actually arrive on their due date anyway tho - so probably the best way to guarantee not sharing a bday with Hitler would be to have his bday as the due date

non dorset interloper slinks off

DelGirl · 29/09/2004 16:49

Hi Bunglie, well it seems I spoke to soon about my m/s wearing off. Its back with a vengeance . Oh wo-es me, i'm so pathetic. I dont really mind where we meet tbh but I can't speak for everyone else though. Maybe in a few weeks when I am (and I will be) feeling better, I can take a trip to Dorchester and meet you there if you like. If we do a local one, I could always pick you up from Poole or Bournemouth station if you like, does your buggy fold up/fit in a hatch back?

OP posts:
DelGirl · 29/09/2004 16:50

Sorry MTS, meant to say we're quite friendly on this thread so feel free to interlop whenever you like

OP posts:
Bunglie · 29/09/2004 17:02

Sorry to hear about the M/S DelGirl.
Yes, in a few weeks would be fine for me, better in fact as it would allow me to catch up on everything I should have done but have not, IYKWIM.
I am afraid my buggy (I have 2) is a bit big. The one I take on trains does not fold up that easily however the smaller one does, but it takes a fit ablebodied person to lift it and it is HEAVY, so no, is the simple answer.
I would love to meet in Dorchester, you could all come to tea????
However I will catch a train to Bournmouth and meet you there if you like, (or anywhere in between)It really depends on how YOU feel.
I think that this meet-up is for a mumsnet shopping trip to treat Delgirl in getting her some nice things for her impending arrival....and I love shopping. Once I have exhausted my credit cards we can then go and have a real dorset cream tea, but forget the scones and jam, we'll have double chocolate brownies....
Oh and no argueing...I want to go around baby shops as I don't get a chance to for myself anymore and nothing would give me more pleasure.
Now back to that Morning Sickness....lay off the chocolate and nibble on some dry digestives in the morning, and dream of the 'brownies' to come.
We will make this meet-up happen, and it is all up to you as to say when you and your bump are ready for a day of being pampered.
Now that's an idea, we could book into a health spar!!!!!!!!

DelGirl · 29/09/2004 17:27

Definitely not a shopping trip for me . though it's a lovely idea . btw, Merlin is also due about 2 days before me and she's a Dorset mner too, so we get double brownies . Hopefully a few more will see this thread and we can sort something out soon.

OP posts:
Bunglie · 29/09/2004 17:48

Well that's settled....
Double chocolate brownies....
When you have got over the icky bit we're on for a meet-up.
Now IF we accidently passed a 'baby/mummy' shop would you and merlin deprive a Bunglie from going in????
Just let us know when you are up to it DG, and I shall meet you werever it is convenient for everyone else. My buggy fits nicely in a black cab, and they have to be wheelchair accessible now, so I am not limited to just the train stations and it goes about 20-30 miles on one charge..... and has space for shopping bags!
Just let me know the best place for those chocolate brownies, (with extra chocolate chips for me!) and I shall be there.
I would be very grateful though if you could make it durring the daytime though.
love Bunglie XX
