Hi all, have had a fab weekend despite the weather. Saturday , dropped children off at IL's then drove to hotel. We were upgraded to a suite as they were over booked. Have a jacuzzi (sp) then got ready for dinner. Went to a lovely restaraunt on Baker street then back to the hotel for a couple of drinks at the bar. Went up to the hotel room to a dozen red roses and a bottle of champagne on ice (courtesy of the hotel). Went to sleep at 2am but didn't wake up until 11.30am. Over to IL's for lunch. FIL cooked a fab leg of lamb. Got home at 8pm ( chilren were ngels all weekend which is unheard of). TZhis morning they slept until 9am (would have been later had my mum not phoned at 9), we drove over to friends for lunch and spent the day with them all the children playing without fuss. Just got home had dinner and cracked open another bottle of bubbly to continue the celebrations.

DH has managed to sort it that he is only working half day tomorrow and all WEds and Thurs so we have all of Fri/sat together sans children and my parents are bringing them back on Sunday. Life is good atm

Kewcumber · 28/05/2007 21:06

How big is 28"? isn;t it a bit big for the bedroom (no naughty double entendres allowed ) How much do ou want for it?

quokka · 28/05/2007 21:16

28cm! which I think is 14"? Just looked on ebay and they are seliing for £20 so you can have it for £15?

Kewcumber · 28/05/2007 22:03

I'm going mad - I thought it was 28inches! Are you sure thats right 28cms is less than 12 inches?

foxcub · 28/05/2007 22:10

CoV

Quokka - we'd be up for a house swap as well if you ever want to do hols here

I slept after my moan earlier, then checked weather forecast. Tomorrow is the only dry day this week, so we're driving down to MrsRecycle's caravan early tomorrow - back Weds (going sans DH).

On Friday I have foolishly invited my entire post natal thread round for lunch !!

Thankfully only the London mob will be attending - about 5 of them with gorgeous babies in tow!

Quoks - don't suppose your TV has a DVD slot does it?

wombat1 · 28/05/2007 22:26

I hope that this is the right place to post this. I have a friend moving to Kew in early July and her baby is due a couple of weeks later. Can anybody give her any suggestions of how to meet other pregnant mothers/new mothers, playgroups, doctors, or anything else helpful for the area?

Many thanks.

foxcub · 28/05/2007 22:52

Wombat Hi

If she goes into the doctors surgeries, churches and library, there are posters advertising various parent and baby groups. Also, Richmond hamlet Health Centre has a baby cafe Monday mornings 10.30am-12.30am, where Mum's of newborns go to get advice and get their babies weighed and measured. You can tell her to pop on here when she moves in and she can meet up with some of us too! There are about 4 of us in Kew. I have a baby of two months, plus two older ones.

2Cute · 28/05/2007 23:37

Puds - That Kidzone place looks good.

xoxo - what time you thinking of trecking to Syon Park? DS just fell asleep at 11pm so we'll be ready to head out at around 11am.

Eleusis · 29/05/2007 08:33

Mornin' everyone.

Oh, COV, so glad it worked out in the end!

Kew, now really do you serious expect us to avoid the 11.2 inch jokes? Did you say that was small?

quokka · 29/05/2007 09:24

hi wombat I saw you on my other thread. She should try and meet up with this lot, they pretty much know whats going on. I suggest your friend buys a pass for Kew Gardens, she will end up spending alot of time there .

No dvd slot foxy just telly. PC I did send you 2 emails???

Paddlechick666 · 29/05/2007 09:34

only got 1 email quokka, the 2nd one i think!

pudding77 · 29/05/2007 09:38

Well, I think the morning is out for us. Ds has gone for a nap so we'll probably head out somewhere after he's woken up & had lunch.

Cov, am v but also happy that you had a good time.

Kewcumber · 29/05/2007 09:41

Ele - do you want to stop by after work one evening to get your blender? Weds and Fri are good for me I'm home by 6.30 on Weds (though my mum will be there) and can arrange any time on Friday as I'm off.

Nanou1 · 29/05/2007 09:57

morning all. thanks so much for great evening on friday and for hosting Qcumber. it was nice to see almost everyone and foxie's ds2 is just adorable!
back from our camping weekend - we only managed to put the tent up and from there rain all the time!!!! very windy and very cold - even rhum in tea did not help much! it was good to see our friends and we did try to make the most of it but quite frankly it was hell! so on the sunday night the 20 of us headed back to our friends' place. thankfully the kiddies were great and just getting on with things; i'd say coping better than the adults - lol. not feeling great today as i have managed to catch a cold - not so surprisingly but eh! the good news is that it did not ditter dh to try again . have a good week all and hello to the newbies.

Nanou1 · 29/05/2007 09:59

COV glad to see your week ended up on a better note than it started!

Nanou1 · 29/05/2007 09:59

forgot to say thanks for the lift mrsr. it was also nice to briefly meet your dh

lolaminola · 29/05/2007 12:40

Hi, i'm new on here. I'm 18 weeks pregnant with first baby and live in Acton. I would love to get to know local mums or pregnant people nearby!!

Eleusis · 29/05/2007 12:56

Welcome Lola!

How about Friday, say 6:45. When does little Kew go to bed? Doen't want to wake hime up, and ideally I'd like to see his cute little grin if I can get there before he goes down?

Oh, and thanks for hosting the leaving do.

And speaking of leaving dos, is it too soon to start planning nanou's? I can make margaritas again.

Kewcumber · 29/05/2007 13:01

Ele, I start bathtime anywhere from 6.45 to 7pm then straight to bed, so 6.45 is fine, I'll bath him at 7pm. You're welcome to stay for a takeaway or some pasta if you have a late night pass.

Kewcumber · 29/05/2007 13:04

hi lola - we're gradually losing our ACton/Ealing members but there are still [plenty of us around. Mixture of WOHM, SAHM and a few in between. We have one relatively new baby - Foxie's cub is 1 weeks (?) the rest of us have dc's between 8 months (?) and about 7yrs so quite a spread. We try to arrange an evening meet once a month and more regular ones during the day.

Kewcumber · 29/05/2007 13:04

that should read 11 weeks!

Paddlechick666 · 29/05/2007 13:29

lol, he's a fine looking laddie for 1 week!

hi lola, welcome to the madhouse come along in and play with us!

oxo, top morning thanks ;-)

Kewcumber · 29/05/2007 13:31

Paddle - "come along in and play with us" you sound like Granny Murray is that deliberate?
