New thread for May.

Oh Foxie - great minds think alike - glad ds2 is sorted for Friday. There are common guidelines that all GPs should follow (that's what NICE is there for!) but they never do and implement whatever they want. Well quote them when you are there next. I always find that because the think I'm in the medical profession because I know so much about Group B Strep, they listen to me.

foxcub · 09/05/2007 09:23

Hi MrsR - thanx for that. I am going to aks them about the NICE guidelines when I visit on Fri - 'cos it annoys me when they are deliberately beaurocratic and inflexible.

Sue - I bet your DS will love having a boogie in MC!!! I can visualise him with a huge cheeky grin, having a dance

foxcub · 09/05/2007 09:23

oops better go, I need to be milked!

suejonez · 09/05/2007 11:01

Paddle Tchibo have toddler sleepoing bags on sale from next week here they don't say a tog rating but they say "summery" and at £8.50 and up to 3 yrs it might be worth a try?

2Cute · 09/05/2007 11:48

Thats great news MrsR. Really pleased for the Recycle family!

Morning everyone else

MrsRecycle · 09/05/2007 11:51

Thanks 2cute - must admit shred a few tears of happiness that everything is now over.

Paddlechick666 · 09/05/2007 12:00

well done MrsR, excellent news!

sue, thanks for the link - what a cornucopia of goodies to be had there! must excercise some self restraint!

wish i'd know a week ago before i paid £15 for a 1 tog bag off ebay - grobag original tho it is.

so here's my current collection of sleeping bags:

Tchibo Toddler Winter Bag to 3yrs (looks like a caterpiller and was way too big for dd last winter!)
.5 tog sheet grobag to 3yrs
1 tog grobag to 3yrs
2 x 2.5 tog grobag to 3yrs

Should I buy the Tchibo one too? I love the waterplay toy as well!

suejonez · 09/05/2007 12:08

somone who has the Tchibo one thinks it is 1 tog or less. I only have two bags (though no summer one yet) are you planning a football team sleepover?

suejonez · 09/05/2007 12:09

paddle - we should order together I think it will save postage if you decide to go for anything. I liked the water toy too a bit old for him yet but I could save it I guess...

suejonez · 09/05/2007 12:10

and congrats MRsR I'm sure it's a relief.

Paddlechick666 · 09/05/2007 12:18

well, the .5 bag came in a job lot with the 2.5 bags which have been invaluable.

the tchibo winter bag Mum bought for me last oct/nov and it was just way too big for dd - made her look like a grub LOL.

i bought the 1 tog because dd's room is too warm for a 2.5 tog but a tad too chilly for a .5 tog.

i do like to have 2 of each rule of thumb being 1 in the wash/clean and 1 on the child.

good idea about ordering together. my mum might like some stuff too - will show her later.

prob won't run to the waterplay tho - finances very weak right now!

pudding77 · 09/05/2007 12:21

Hi all, been swimming this morning so ds out like a light!

MrsR - glad ds is ok!

Anyone around for an hour or so this afternoon? I'll probably be around from about 3-ish if anyone would like to meet up

suejonez · 09/05/2007 12:23

oh god the voice of reason - I can't afford it either! I was actually planning to buy the fitted cot sheets and the sleeping bag...

Paddlechick666 · 09/05/2007 12:29

the sheets are good value too.

i manage with 2 fitted sheets, they get changed every week. they'll want replacing at some point but not right now.

good value v common sense v just another blardy thing i will have to pack sometime soon!

suejonez · 09/05/2007 12:30

my aren't fitted and they are a pain in the neck so deffo ordering fitted ones. Amazing how all those little things add up when they individually seem so cheap.

sfxmum · 09/05/2007 12:35

hello everyone

here i am looking forward to my wisdom tooth extraction - sympathy please

sue - lisa at boogie tots is quite nice and i am sure ds will be having a great time, we have not been back since Easter, dd now sleeps till 9am and takes her time getting ready in the morning - so much like her daddy (he needs 2hrs to fart about)

anyway

foxie well done, but it odd at North road surgery we were seen by the GP at 8wks same time i had my check and dd her jabs.
the HV had done3 home visits then i think we saw her 2-3 more times but not since dd was 6m.

mrsR - yes what a relief

dd has always used sleeping bags, currently on a 2.5 tog we don't have summer ones in her size atm, might just let it go and move on to sheets.

dd seems to have dropped daytime naps, just sleeps from 9-9.30 to 9am
hello everyone else

pudding77 · 09/05/2007 12:42

sympathies to sfx, hadn't had to have mine removed don't know what its like!

We've just got a new 1 tog for ds, hadn't realised how small the others were getting until we put this one on!

suejonez · 09/05/2007 12:48

sfx - is the dentist going to remove it? I had one removed by th dentist lastyear and it was fine (sounded horrible but nothing like as bad as I was expecting). I got dry socket afterwards which was painful and annoying but just about bearable. I have to have another one removed at the hosptial but have put off getting it done.

suejonez · 09/05/2007 12:50

think I am going to keep DS in sleeping bags until he moves out of a cot, he is a wild boy and I'm not at all sure he'd keep a sheet on at the moment as he rotates himself around the cot at the moment.

MrsRecycle · 09/05/2007 14:28

sfx - hope its not too painful - my dentist made it all the more nicer by the fact he had a handsome face to stare at!! Am thinking of you.

pudding77 · 09/05/2007 14:40

guess that's a no for meeting up today then

suejonez · 09/05/2007 16:05

sadly work wouldn't let me!

pudding77 · 09/05/2007 17:00

sfxmum · 09/05/2007 17:36
