Curioscat - how does it feel being back at work? I work f/t but compress my 35 hours into 4 days so I get Fridays off, which is great

Its a big adjustment going back - but you'll soon get into the swing of it and enjoy your work time and your mum time.

Steppy - hope Dh wasn't swearing at the kids was he? He has every Weds off atm, which is so fabulous (he has loads of annual leave to use up). I just love Wednesdays!!

foxcub · 16/05/2007 17:38

ps. am on mat leave until about September BTW

2Cute · 16/05/2007 18:08

Evening all

Really nice to know I've not been missed .....

OK - drama queen routine dropped..How is everyone? RL been keeping me away from MN, really must get my priorities straight

Welcome curiouscat

Hope you're feeling better Ele & COV.

Paddle - Sorry about your tosspot boss My workplace was very sexist until I stood up to it and started putting things in writing to them, (emails for proof as opposed to direct talking). They were very cautious after they realised I wasn't prepared to take any crap. Sue's advice is the way to go. You sort them out luv!

Congrats on your DH's job offer Nanou!

suejonezwillsoonbeKewcumber · 16/05/2007 20:04

2Who?

Curiouscat I work 4 days definitely recommend it for the sanity reason if it is financial viable. eleusis may however sugegst 5 days is better for sanity reasons!

foxcub · 16/05/2007 20:15

2 cute - How VERY dare you have a RL?

Sue - your purse is with CM now, ready for collection...

MrsR - DCs looked at your link before they went to sleep and thoroughly approve of the facilities on offer! TBH I'd imagined just a caravan on a nit of sand - didn't realise it was so fab

Did I miss catherine tate this week?

we gingers must stick together!

foxcub · 16/05/2007 20:16

bit of sand (not "nit)

Paddlechick666 · 16/05/2007 20:25

bloody nit obsessed you are woman!

foxcub · 16/05/2007 20:32

actually we haven't had nits for...well several weeks!

Eleusis · 17/05/2007 09:20

Wow, it is quiet here today...

Nanou1 · 17/05/2007 09:26

BOO

Nanou1 · 17/05/2007 09:30

we lovvvveee you 2cute! thanks for congrats. i know it's silly but still in shock i think. and i am really going to miss you guys and my life here but eh such an opportunity and a relief . dh nervous i think and he saying not to take it for granting that we are moving yet. only when he is 2 months in the job will he feel comfortable with saying we are moving.... so i keep telling him he'll make a success of it and that it's just been so long that he has been working that he does not remember . how is everyone today? have not watched catherine tate for ages, i think she is fab. anyone watching whitehouse on bbc? can't remember the name of the show but it has "i saw you coming" in it; hilarious!!!!!!

ComeOVeneer · 17/05/2007 09:30

Morning all (I will omit the "good" from that phrase). I am feeling totally dreadful today (not helped by both children having me up during the night). Have been very short with them this morning. I have a tonne of stuff to do but can't muster up the energy for anything.

Nanou1 · 17/05/2007 09:30

sue was asking the other day.... if all goes well (which it will) we should move in september.

Nanou1 · 17/05/2007 09:31

sorry to hear that COV. hope it gets better today

suejonezwillsoonbeKewcumber · 17/05/2007 09:34

Cov - equally bad night in the Jonez houzehold with both of us having colds and DS discovering how to detatch his dummy then subsequently losing it and screaming like the hounds of hell were after him at 12pm, 1am, 2am etc. I decided he was doing it deliberately and could have strangled him - not at my most rational at 2am in the morning with a cold.

ComeOVeneer · 17/05/2007 09:37

Blimey we are all coming down with it. Sorry to hear you had a bad night too Sue. I currently can only breathe through my mouth, my face is all puffy and my eyes feel like they will pop out of my head at any moment. I'm feeling pretty sorry for myself (can't you tell ).

foxcub · 17/05/2007 09:46

Oh dear - you two need drugs by the sound of it

suejonezwillsoonbeKewcumber · 17/05/2007 09:47

CM packed me off with some foxie! Thanks for the purse

foxcub · 17/05/2007 10:04

i wish cm was my mum sometimes lol

suejonezwillsoonbeKewcumber · 17/05/2007 11:06

and she's probably younger than both of us!

She offered to do my drying last week as my dryer has broken down and I'm finding it hard to get Daniels stuff dry at the rate he goes through things.

Does anyone else not change their DC during the day (clothes I mean not nappies!), he just get dirtier and dirtier and then I take it off and wash at the end of the day, unless we are going somewhere on a posh visit of course (not like Paddle or Foxies house). Someone told me yesterday that they hanged their DC's 2 or 3 times a day when they got dirty. Am I a slovenly mother?

lemonaid · 17/05/2007 12:24

I find Neurofen Cold & Flu the best thing for nasty sinusy colds.

I don't voluntarily change DS, but he has higher standards than I do and tends to announce "is DIRTY" and remove the offending article of clothing. Or "is WET" if he gets a single drop of water on it . One of my brothers was just the same, apparently.

suejonezwillsoonbeKewcumber · 17/05/2007 12:47

funnily enough Lemonaid - thast what CM gave me and I do feel a bit better - have a stack of work to do though (what am I doing here?). Ds definitely not at the stage where he asks to be changed and I'm suspecting he may have a close affinity for dirt so unlikely to happen. If you saw him at Foxie's school fair you would know that he bore a remarkable similarity to the Bash St kids in grubbiness...

suejonezwillsoonbeKewcumber · 17/05/2007 12:49

sorry just reread my earleir post - they didn;t "hang" their DC but "changed" them

Paddlechick666 · 17/05/2007 12:52

just to piss you all off, dd is on day 3 of the same outfit and it's not filthy or disgusting either!!!!

i don't know why she stays so clean. partly as she's a relatively tidy eater - god forbid she miss a morsel !! also she's a good walker so not too much floor grubbing.

altho i care not if her bum ank knees are grubby!

also lots of muck masking colours/patterns in her wardrobe.

hope the colds are getting better for all.

dd's had 2 crying sessions overnight the last 2 nights. major teeth coming thru. i don't go in as she settles quite quickly but it wakes me up!

boss has just announced he's leaving the dept.

need to get my upgrade application in asap and hope the replacement isn't such a tosser!

suejonezwillsoonbeKewcumber · 17/05/2007 12:56

oh good news about your boss Paddle bet thats cheered you right up.

Ds's clothes aren't always from feeding or falling over just dirt. The muddy flower beds look so much more exciting than the toy stall... why sit and read a book when you can try to squeeze through the cat flap etc...
