Oooh I know I'm in Bristol and shouldn't really be on this thread....but you janner lot draw me in!!!

Hi Pav - soz to hear about your loss ...hopefully I'll be in Plymouth again soon and we can meet up??

PavlovtheCat · 12/06/2007 22:25

Nikki - I was in Bristol yesterday and thought of you...and how we keep missing each other!

My DP had a job interview (training position) and I went to Victoria park with LO and she played on the swings, it was chock full of posh pseudo-hippy mummies!

Then, as seems to be a tradition when we are in Bristol, we got lost coming out and ended up in WSM! Again!

You can come on this thread...you started it! .
Yes we must meet when you are next here. How is your granddad?

NikkiBFG · 12/06/2007 22:31

Ooooh - am trying to guess where his interveiw may have been if you were in Victoria park....

Granadad is a lot better thanks - he's at home now but he's driving my Gran insane! He's very fussy with foods at the best of time (sample opinion when my Gran bakes for him - mm...not as good as Mr Kiplings) and everything she does for him is just not good enough. My mum lives next door and so is doing loads as well and she's at how arsey he's being with everything! Feel sorry for my Gran actually....I know he's uncomfortable etc but....

PavlovtheCat · 12/06/2007 22:37

by Temple Meads. I drove to the park!
Glad your grandad is well enough to moan about everything!

NikkiBFG · 12/06/2007 22:38

You are brave! I fecking hate driving in Bristol!! Impatient b'stards all of 'em!

PavlovtheCat · 12/06/2007 22:41

getting there was fine. I am from London so can be quite a rude driver if I have to be. I try to be nice, but if someone pees me off, or if I am not getting where I want to go, my london hat goes on! Getting out was a problem as my DP has an inability to turn the car round when he takes a wrong turn. Its like a block in his brain. He just cannot do it. I am sure that if we ended up in Wales he would still keep on driving!
I did not know about victoria park, I just went for a drive and ended up there. Its very nice isnt it?

NikkiBFG · 12/06/2007 22:44

Yup! I laughed at your pseudo hippies...we do have a lot of those in Bristol....I'm not one though!

PavlovtheCat · 12/06/2007 22:49

I pretended to be one too. You know scoffed a bit, talked about what DD would be having for tea, lovingly cooked from scratch (she had a jar of Hipp food which she chucked around the cafe we went to, followed by a bottle of formula), laughed at one of the mummies jokes and thanked god I am not rich!

NikkiBFG · 12/06/2007 22:51

You should go to the Clifton/Redland area!!! Its even worse!! I hate competitive mummyhood! Having said that, I have been known to tip a jar of baby food into a tupperware container for feeding DS outside so it looks as if its homemade

PavlovtheCat · 12/06/2007 22:54

Nikki - I do that ! I pretend its so it lasts, as it can be split into two and then whatever is left is not thrown away

NikkiBFG · 12/06/2007 22:56

Ahh! Great minds think alike Pav

I'm off to bed now......

PavlovtheCat · 12/06/2007 23:01

Loopy - yes hosepipie ban does not exist here, which some might say is good given the extortionate water charges!
I am upset it has been raining today . I bought a canoe tuesday and wanted to go out in it today. It was not the rain that put me off, it that was the case I would never do anything! But I heard possible thunder mentioned, and thought bet of using my metal poled paddle!!!
What part of Plymouth are you in? You are bound to say Manamead/Peverall/Plympton/Plymstock aren;t you?!

Well, there is a lot of Plymouth I missed out, I just picked the loverly parts which I would love to live in. And, you came from SE

NikkiBFG · 13/06/2007 22:25

My DH always complains it rains in Plymouth! Ccan remember going to school and spending the day soaked from just a short walk from bus stop to school....

On second thoughts, maybe Bristol isn't too bad!!

Loopy - plymstock was a lucky choice then! do you like it there? close knit from what I have heard?
I am just jealous as I live in a city location! But I do like where I live, I have great neighbours, and live on a quiet street, and a park up the road. And I can walk to work!
Why on earth did you move from Portsmouth, Its nice there is it not?

SchroedingersCat · 15/06/2007 22:07

Sorry - it pavlov with a new name!

Hi Loopymumsy - saw your message on other thread but was not watching!!! Just in case you can't remember, I have also just moved to Plymouth with 2 dds (almost 3 and 17 months). Where you living? I am just by Central Park. I shall read this thread and see if there is a meet up...

Jenski · 18/06/2007 21:09

OoPs ..sorry just read thread and see that you are living in Plymstock. I have driven through there whilst investigating the area... looks pretty... OMG the rain - unbelieveable. Oh and the hosepipe ban too - yes I am from the SE too!!

pavlovthecat · 18/06/2007 21:13

Loopy - DOH ai am sooo dumb . You would think, living in a naval town i would have figured that pretty quickly eh?!

Jenski - hello! Not too many Plymouthians on MN from what I can gather! Apparantly there is a Devon meetup soon but I cant find the link anywhere .

And yes, it rains, and rains, and rains. However this time last year, we had a bit of a heatwave, typical as I was heavily pregnant!
