I quite like it in there, for cheap quick food.

Ah but Nikki is a foodie - she would prefer...
Tanners!

Ahhh now I'm a fan of the Tanner brothers as have seen them on TV, but have yet to try their food!

I think..Oooh, I dont know. I am probably at work that week, so any time after 4pm, DD or not, I am happy with her, or without her!

Tigana · 05/05/2007 23:50

Oh GAWD Tanners - ex-Chairman where I use dto work was obsessed with ATnners - took all his business guests there - is poncey, overpriced etc etc in my humble opinion .

PavlovtheCat · 05/05/2007 23:50

They now run the restuarant on barbican - old gin distillery - whats it called? There is a Wetherspoons next to it. NOOOOOOO! and next door is a great cocktail place, and Tanner bros do food there....whats it called? erm...?

We could meet there?!
For cocktails?!!

PavlovtheCat · 05/05/2007 23:51

Tig - not even for a lil cocktail?

Nikki76 · 05/05/2007 23:51

DS has his bedtime at 6.30pm and gets very cranky if doesn't get it so if its after 4pm, I'll prob leave him with my mum and show you what he looks like on my mobile!

Will bring him if a meet up earlier in day though

Think it's called the Distillery, Pavlov! Dh used to put bands on there.

PavlovtheCat · 05/05/2007 23:54

LOL - I could have sworn it changed its name?!! But I am so out of touch with it all I dont know.

I went to Bar Baruda, paid a ridiclous amount for a shitty cocktail. I was worried about getting one too strong...it did not even whet the appetite!

PavlovtheCat · 05/05/2007 23:55

bar rakuda - sorreee typo!

Tigana · 05/05/2007 23:58

You could be right - I only know what DH calls it, and the band nights were called "The Still Sessions"....but haven't been there myself ( majority of my social life is lived vicariously through DH at the moment [frustrated]

Tigana · 06/05/2007 00:00

Bollards! It's gone midnight! and I promised myself an early night! Must go and dash around trying to reduce bombsite appearance of house (will aim for merely post-hurricane I think!). Night!

PavlovtheCat · 06/05/2007 00:00

Off to bed ladies! So, we have three! In the whole of the country and beyond! three luvly ladies for our meetup...I think coffee to start with would be good. Seeing as the sun is out and we live in a beautiful place...somewhere on the barbican so we can see the sea?

Nikki76 · 06/05/2007 00:01

Night m'luv

Should really haul arse to bed myself...but....I'm having fun....am hungry though.....

The Japanese is wonderful- best Japanense food I've had outside Japan (sounds poncey but worked there for a year). Pricey though. Tanners- the tanner brothers did our wedding so I'm a bit partial to them. But Cap'n Jaspers- well lets face it- it's an institution. And my mouth is watering at the thought of it. Foodwise Plymouth has improved enormously over the last 5 years. Bar ha ha, always quite noisey- never eaten there though.

Nikki76 · 06/05/2007 22:25

My sis and hubby are big fans of Capn Jaspers....

We still haven't decided a venue though have we! Gess will you be meeting us??

Tigana · 06/05/2007 22:42

Pavlov- Tanner Brothers place in Distillery = "Barbican Kitchen" but have not heard good things ( £8 for some bread anyone? How about £8 for some olives to go with that bread? - yikees)

Nikki76 · 06/05/2007 22:44

Too expensive for humble old me!!

OP posts:
Tigana · 06/05/2007 22:47

Is it a daytime-with-children or evening- without type meet up?

Nikki76 · 06/05/2007 22:47

I can do both

OP posts:
Tigana · 06/05/2007 22:59

If I can do anything it will be evening, but can't guarantee will be free...what day?

Nikki76 · 06/05/2007 23:01

I'm free any evening in the week so far....will need to check with mum re babysitting when a date is finally decided but think it should be ok - she's already told me I'm having some 'me' time that week - bless her!
