New thread as the old one has run out of room.

paddle I normally leave around the time the flight has landed - check out baa.com first. I still have to hang around for 40 minutes though (am an expert at T3 as had to fly out to Rome every week a few years ago).

foxcub · 24/04/2007 10:47

Hi over here

quokka · 24/04/2007 10:48

might have to pick your brains about your home town. Il's are thinking of buying a holiday home there. Somewhere we can go for weekends from s'pore and they can rent out while they are in the uk

MrsRecycle · 24/04/2007 10:48

Hope ds2 is okay foxie!

quokka · 24/04/2007 10:49

thats for mellow by the way

quokka · 24/04/2007 10:49

a stinky navel?

mellow2 · 24/04/2007 10:58

Quoks,
I read the posts backward and thought your ILs wanted to buy somewhere in Ruislip .

There's a second-home scheme going on in Malaysia where foreigners can buy a place and stay for a large part of a year without having to get a visa. I could tell you more about it if you want.

MrsR,
Sorry about not getting back to you with the list of organic baby clothes brands.

The one that's most popular is Cut4cloth .

The one that I like is Sckoon .

The other one that I like is Grembo but they've have closed for biz in the US. The UK office is still around for a while.

Grembo .

Reposting this on the new thread.

Foxie,
I know what you mean about wanting to change your life when you have a baby.

I've always wanted to work for myself. I've finally taken the plunge to open an online biz now that we have dd.

OP posts:
quokka · 24/04/2007 11:00

ooh yes please mellow! Is there a website that I could forward to dh and il's?

mellow2 · 24/04/2007 11:04

Erm, don't know of a website offhand in English. I'll do a surf and see if there's anything online. The Malaysian govt is not great at putting info online in English. A lot of the info is in the local language Bahasa Malaysia.

I do envy your 4-day child-free weekend. I would kill for a child-free evening. I'm dying to go to the theatre or opera. Unfortunately, the last time we left dd with ILs, she bawled an hour after we left and was in a right state when we got home.

OP posts:
mellow2 · 24/04/2007 11:06

Puds,
Unfortunately, 3 pm is when dd naps. Is it possible for us to come earlier? If not, I'll see if I get her napping earlier and we'll come after her nap.

OP posts:
quokka · 24/04/2007 11:10

yes it will be child free but exhausting. 8hrs time difference and alot to do in 4 days.

mellow2 · 24/04/2007 11:13

These days it takes me about a week to adjust to the time difference now. But then I'm a lot older than you are .

mellow you should try sitters.co.uk, you have to pay a monthly service fee, and then you pay the sitter £5hr diectly. My friend swears by them, all sitters have had experience with lo's and have been completely checked out.

Nanou1 · 24/04/2007 11:46

hi guys. quick hello. am in the office and leaving in one hour. atmosphere awful as they are pissed off with me.... said dd was sick and i needed to get home at lunchtime as dh going to switzerland... got a temp in for today and tomorrow... ie they dont expect to see me tomorrow. hope you are all ok. and that bl**dy urgent presentation is not even started yet.... and the boss in question turned up at 10am this morning.... pls dont go sending me emails at work today or tomorrow... just in case i dont come in tomorrow either... can't wait to leave this place! have a good day all.

suejonez · 24/04/2007 12:30

good luck nanou

Stepford - there was actually plenty of space at the time for parking but his point was reasonable, he just didn;t know that she was going out again shortly so it really didn't matter. She has DS one day a wee kon a Wednesday and occasionally for the odd hour when I'm desparate. Like this evening - board meeting and not I will get home in time to do CM pick up so she is doing it for me. Shame, I like picking him up

stepfordwife · 24/04/2007 13:03

sue...is board meeting a euphenism for after-work drinkies?! i do hope so..

suejonez · 24/04/2007 13:05

no sadly not - proper board meeting with big presentation - no drinks after just a ppile of work.

MrsRecycle · 24/04/2007 13:15

Foxie - meant to ask you did you ever get a double buggy. I popped round to my old CM last week and she mentioned she still had one (a Gracco one). I could bring it over on Friday - are we still on?

pudding77 · 24/04/2007 14:36

hi mellow, sorry I've only just read your post, I had to pop out earlier. Hopefully see you at 3 otherwise maybe we can meet up another time this week?

Snowboo · 24/04/2007 14:43

Hi ladies, just wondered if i could ask a question. Hoping one of you might know....

Is Maids of Honour (tea shop, kew) open on Saturdays? Am supposed to be going there this Sat for my birthday but can't seem to find any numbers for it!

TIA x

ComeOVeneer · 24/04/2007 14:59

Hi all, just catching up again (this thread moves too fast some days).

Sue - can't remember if I congratulated you and DS on his assesment so .... "congratulations", pleased he is doing well.

Foxie - sorry to hear about ds2 stinky navel. My nephew had this and sis was given some special powder to apply to dry it up and it was fine after 7-10 days. Dare I ask how the BF'ing is going. And equally as important when do I get to see this child? AM beginning to doubt his exsistence

Has anyone taken over responsibility for our W London Mile for Maude? I can't really as I am unfamiliar with the Park being a newbie to the area, plus I have a tonne of stuff to do helping organise dd's summer fair later in the afternoon on the 12th (I still hope to come for the walk though). Would be a shame if it didn't go ahead.

Quokka good luck for the weekend, hope you manage a bit of R&R whilst you are there as well as getting everything sorted. Has a date been picked for your leaving do yet?

A big hello to everyone else. Hope to catch up soon.

ComeOVeneer · 24/04/2007 15:23

Any takers for the MN picnic on Sunday the 29th July in Hyde Park? Foxie and I have signed up.

pudding77 · 24/04/2007 16:42

Picnic? Is there a thread for this?!

Hi Snowboo, number for MoH is 020 8940 2752 - but I'm pretty certain they're open on Saturdays!

mellow2 · 24/04/2007 17:00
