Hi Bron42,

Great news about the book club. Yes I'd love to join please can you give me the email address of the organiser. Where's Blackburne house by the way? I'll get that book and and try to read it before the next meet.

Thanks,

bebby · 08/09/2004 16:44

Looks like we have a night out planned then! mtosteven, sorry I haven't contacted you direct but will do tomorrow, my e-mail at home still not set up, so will be in touch. Bron42, go ahead and invite your friends, you three plus me and mtsteven and eyelash makes six , if any of you change your mind please let me know and I will alter the booking. I will get to the restaurant before 8pm, ask for the table booked in the name of Bebby and I should be sitting there, 5 2" blonde, with no kids in sight .

I am interested in the book club, Mrs Waddle welcome back! I know where Blackburne House is, if you are interested perhaps we could go together to the next meeting if they have the space for two more? Only problem is....I hate Anne Tyler, her books positively drooop still I could force myself to read it if it meant some interesting discussion. I could e-mail you direct but again I would have to do this in work tomorrow. I am banned from mumsnet in work, long story...I tried to get on a discussion thread and the firewall flashed up 'contains pornographic material!' , now I can't get on,aaaargh! This and other embarassing stories are available on Friday night . Will post a message on Thursday night about 8.30 pm, hope you are all around for a chat, bye for now .

Hi bron42 - reckon there would be room for another little (ok littleish) one at the book club- it's just round the corner from where I live! Mrs Waddle, blackburne house is on Hope St, near the Philharmonic Hall.

MummyToSteven · 08/09/2004 19:54

hi mishi and welcome to MN

bron42 · 08/09/2004 21:02

Hi All!
Great that the meal out is still on. Will contact three girlie friends asap and will let you know Bebby. Thanks for organising this!
Also good news about three of you wanting to join book club. Will email Anne tomorrow and get back to you again asap.
Sorry Bebby about Anne Tyler, this will be my first of hers so will give her the benefit of the doubt!

alliwannado · 08/09/2004 21:27

hiya next week would be good, wednesday would be best

mishi9123 · 08/09/2004 23:23

any day pretty much ok with me

mrswaddle · 09/09/2004 12:24

Hey bebby,

That would be good if we went to the book club together. Give me your email address if you can and we'll arrange it.... I found that I already had the book (seem to remember someone giving it to me ages ago) so have already started reading it.

bebby · 09/09/2004 20:44

Hi Bron42, great if you can get your friends to come to the night out, really looking forward to it , mrswaddle will contact you about the book club after I have the details from Bron42. I am watching fat nation, will come back to the site later, if any of you are around for a chat, if not a quick message tomorrow about 6pm to check that you are all still OK for the night out. Mishi, welcome to mnet .

bron42 · 09/09/2004 21:09

Bebby - Have left a message with one of the friends. Can't get hold of the others so will leave it as it's so late in the day. Will let you know by 6.00pm if Nicki can make it.
If I forget to post then take it I will definately be there at 8.00pm
Will contact Anne at the book club tomorrow if i find time and let you know the outcome. Haven't started the book yet. Am 2/3 of the way through the final Philip Pullman and half way through Oliver James: Parents they you up!, an amazing book. Don't usually mix books but got hooked on the O. James on hols. Not exactly holiday reading as lots of insight into our childhoods and how we turn out because of them. Sounds like nothing new, but it is! Anyone else read it?
Glad the meet up yesterday went well. I was at Calderstones today with a friend. Wed. are out for me. I start back teaching on Mon and Wed from next week. Any other day during school hours are fine for a meet up. Speke Hall is one of my faves!

bron42 · 09/09/2004 21:10

Sorry forgot - welcome mishi!

bebby · 09/09/2004 22:31

Hi Bron42 - Looking forward to meeting you tomorrow. I will check the site sometime after 6pm. Your book reading sounds interesting, I am reading a freebie from a magazine, not bad really but I have left it in work today and so won't be able to finish it, I read the Da Vinci code on holiday, great page turner but complete rubbish. Best book this year.... its got to be Notes on a Scandal by Zoe Heller. Another good one was a Mnet recommendation, Something might happen by Julie Myerson VGood. See you tommorrow.

eyelash · 10/09/2004 15:48

Looking forward to seeing you all tonight. BTW I am the very pregnant one!

Can any of you ladies let me know where is the best place to park so that I am as close as possible. A side street would do and then I can look it up on the A-Z.

See you all later.

bebby · 10/09/2004 18:22

Hi Eyelash, if you park in the library car park and then walk down to the restaurant you will be OK. I hope everyone else is still OK. I will hopefully get to the table first, I am 5 2" with blonde hair, fast approaching 40 . The restaurant is really good, looking forward to meeting you all later .

bron42 · 10/09/2004 19:40

Just checking you are still going tonight! See you in 20 mins.

alliwannado · 10/09/2004 21:16

bron42 · 11/09/2004 21:31

Thanks also from me Bebby. Had a really enjoyable night in good company.
Eyelash, what time is the Park Rd activity on Friday? Forgot DD finishes school at 11.30am for her first week and so think times don't suit.
Good news - spoke to Anne Saunders from Blackburne House. All three places for you at the book club. Could you all contact her direct on 0151 709 4356. Think she's on hols this week but you could leave her a confirmation message and I can give you any further details for next meeting on the 29th of this month.
Will be free w/c 20/09 on Tues/Thurs/Fri for meet ups in the daytime with DS, 20mths. Anyone up for that week?

MummyToSteven · 11/09/2004 21:46

I'll phone her tomorrow. found a copy of the anne tyler book for 69p at Oxfam today so feeling quite lucky today! Week of 20th would be be good for a meet up wednesday or later - am on holiday 18th - 21st with my mum and steven in switzerland.

mrswaddle · 13/09/2004 14:44
