alliwannado · 06/08/2004 11:25

grandmas in Hunts cross (next door to ASDA)... on Friday 3rd September, beofre or after lunch? they do food there but depends on what we all find easier. You only get an 1hr and 15mins, and its £3/£4 depending on age of child....... suppose at least with calderstones park theres no time restrictions. what do you all think?

Apologies for the desperate lack of contact. Have failed to meet up with any of you and notice new "members" in Lpool. Great!
Can't make the 3rd Sept, still away but anyone free next Friday am or pm for Calderstones.
Alliwannado, think we spoke several weeks ago about trying to meet up with a couple of others.
Could also do Speke Hall as have the annual pass still.
Joined the National Wildflower Centre this week, first visit and very impressed. Not a huge place but next door is Court Hey public park with play area. Didn't even now the park existed. The cafe and shop were impressive and the annual member ship is £15 (only open april to end of Sept) Daily prices are £3 - adult, £1.50 children, free under 2's.
Thought Grandma's was excellent when I visited a few weeks ago.
Not been to Father Ted's. Sounds good, though.
Did any of you arrange an evening out on Allerton Rd. Last time I contacted there was talk about us having a night out. If it's still in the pipeline, can I come?!

MummyToSteven · 06/08/2004 17:42

alli - is calderstones park within walking distance of Mossley Hill Station? Bron - I do baby massage friday am, but could have a go at making Calderstones friday mid afternoon ish

MummyToSteven · 06/08/2004 17:45

alli - just been multimapping - calderstones should be okay - but would prefer to meet up at mossley hill end of calderstones park - would that be okay -

bebby · 09/08/2004 13:01

Hi all, (hi alli) sorry not been on for a while but lots happening, I have a new job, hoorah! and it is only part time so will have more time on mnet! Friday 3 September is it Grandmas or the the park? I can do either but would prefer the park, someone mentioned the distance from Mossley Hill to the park, you can walk it in 5-10 mins, I could pick up from the station if you need a lift. Please let me know what the final destination/date is, I need to make plans for when I am a part timer. Also bron42 I am happy to organise a night out in Allerton Road, any Friday night in September (as you can see no social life at the moment!) Great to see some new people in and around Liverpool, will come on again in a few days to get details of the meet. Look forward to meeting you all

eyelash · 09/08/2004 13:50

I am up for the meet-up on the 3rd but would prefer the park at late morning/lunch timeish if possible to fit in with the school run.

Also up for night out as well!

bron42 · 09/08/2004 14:57

Hi all.
Bebby - Free on 10th and 17th Sept, friday evening.
MummytoSteven - How about 2.30pm Friday(if it's fine) Anyone else up for meeting then?
Found another great day out over the w/e at Tam O'Shanter Urban Farm in Bidston. Anyone been? It's free entrance, open 7 days, 9.30-4.30pm Not loads there but really well looked after animals and very child-friendly. Took about half an hour from Mossley Hill. Definately recommend it.
Will check site as week goes on to see if day/evening arrangements work out.

eyelash · 10/08/2004 08:46

MummytoSteven - apologies - I have just reread the thread and see you can only make mid-afternoon. Obviously an earlier time would be better for me but I will try to make the night out instead.

Isn't the weather awful!

MummyToSteven · 10/08/2004 08:51

eyelash - its "only" a baby massage class I go to in the morning, so don't mind missing that in a good cause

MummyToSteven · 10/08/2004 08:58

Bron 42 - Friday 2.30 will be fine. And would love a night out (another mummy with a less than exacting social life ). Would prefer friday 10th to 17th as am going on holiday on the 18th - yaay!

bron42 · 10/08/2004 14:31

I will be at calderstones, children's play area around 2.30pm weather permitting! Not sure how we will all know each other. Hopefully some of you already have met. I will have DD, 4yrs and DS, 19 months. Both children fairish haired and me brown with some highlights!!!

marialuisa · 10/08/2004 15:13

So, is there a get together on September 3rd at Calderstones, or are you arranging a meet before that? Sorry, brain dead and confused!

Congrats on the new job Bebby!

MummyToSteven · 10/08/2004 17:37

MariaLuisa - both.

1)Meet up Calderstones this Friday 2.30 p.m. me and bron appear to be only takers so far
2)General meet up September 3rd

I have completely confused things by belated twigging that I can relatively easily get to Calderstones on train, rather than having the excitement of trying to find a buggy friendly bus.

MummyToSteven · 10/08/2004 17:39

bron42 - there will be ds, 5 months, blue graco buggy. me - small ish (5 ft 3) ever so slightly plump, dark shoulder length frizzy hair, glasses, big nose!

eyelash · 10/08/2004 20:44

I hadn't realised the 2.30pm meet-up was this Friday - pregnancy makes me very dim! I can make it then - have ds1 who is 4, ds2 who is 2 and massive me who is 7 months pregnant so you def won't miss me!

See you there.

marialuisa · 11/08/2004 08:33

Cheers MtS, will keep an eye-out for further details of September 3rd meeeting. Still signing paper this week.

bron42 · 12/08/2004 22:48

See you both tomorrow then! with weather permitting. Arrived there this pm just as the rain started so DS didn't even have a runaround. Look forward to meeting you both.

eyelash · 13/08/2004 07:41

Yes - weather permitting we will be there but the forecast looks a bit awful. If it is tipping down we won't make the trip as it is difficult to keep two amused at the best of times but hopefully it will be dry and we will see you there.

MummyToSteven · 13/08/2004 08:58

okay, if it starts to chuck it down, we won't do it. fingers crossed!

MummyToSteven · 13/08/2004 13:15

are we still going 2 chance it this afternoon????

MummyToSteven · 13/08/2004 13:46

BUMP

eyelash · 13/08/2004 15:21

It bucketed it down this lunchtime so didn't go - now it is ok I wonder if we should have made the trip. But hope you both understand it was a long way for me from North Liverpool with the two boys. Hope we get some good weather soon and if you did meet up that you had a nice time.

bebby · 13/08/2004 15:40

Hi all,

Meet up on 3rd September - Calderstones, will try to make it but will need time off work. How about a night out on Friday 10th? I am hoping to be leaving my present job on 17th so will be having the required leaving do! If anyone is up for a night out either in town or on Allerton Road, please let me know and I will get it booked. I can recommend The Other Place on Allerton Road, great for a girls night out (did I say girls? Really, I will be 40 next year - when do you have to stop saying girls night out and start saying ladies/women's night out? Did I need more apostrophes in this? Dh has me paranoid about grammer!)Mummytosteven love your description, I bet you are a real stunner you yummy mummies always play down your looks . Eyelash hope the pregnancy is going well have you started mat leave yet? Also read any good books in your book club? Looking forward to meeting you all - let me know if 10 September is good for a night out and I will organise it .

Hi Marialuisa - hope you are well

MummyToSteven · 16/08/2004 14:59

Hi bebby - regrettably not a stunner or a yummy mummy, however much I may aspire to being one

10th would be great for a night out - not bothered whether town or allerton road - though eyelash may prefer town if she lives north liverpool.
