Brand new thread for a new month.

OP posts:
Nanou1 · 20/04/2007 13:50

i like them very much. you 'll look good in them. but there again you'd look good in anything
foxie - am working on an email to you and am realising i have not sent it yet.... sorry!

Paddlechick666 · 20/04/2007 13:51

definately take tuesday off sick. if you had the D&V that's going around there's no way you could drag yourself in believe me!

this might be blunt, but if the company is going down then you need to put getting a new job above all else.

you've given that job so much Nanou, time to think of yourself for once methinks.

Paddlechick666 · 20/04/2007 13:52

they look great on me LOL! they'll look fab on Quokka too.

lightweight as well which will be good for those s'pore temps!

;-)

quokka · 20/04/2007 13:56

do you like this top

quokka · 20/04/2007 13:57

[whisper] what size jeans did you get?

Paddlechick666 · 20/04/2007 13:57

you've broken the website!

dd is chatting away to herself in her cot - how long can i leave her to it LOL

Paddlechick666 · 20/04/2007 13:58

whispers back>>>>>> 12R

Nanou1 · 20/04/2007 13:58

hi again. have made my decision. i understand what you are saying quokka but my conscience can't let me do that.... i dont do much most of the time so i think calling in sick would be the ultimate "betrayal" in their eyes and i reckon i would lose my job altogether much quicker and maybe with nothing to go to.... if those guys in hammersmith can't understand my loyalty and commitment then the hammersmith job is not meant to be. i would not be able to live with myself ; this really is make or brake for them as it's their worst year of business in 10 years.

quokka · 20/04/2007 13:59

here

Paddlechick666 · 20/04/2007 14:00

nanou, you're an asset any company would be lucky to have.

really hope the hammersmith job works out - you deserve a break mate.

Paddlechick666 · 20/04/2007 14:01

very you Quokka, it'll suit you.

Nanou1 · 20/04/2007 14:01

i heard you both from here going "you fool!". i am terrible with my conscience i can't tell you.... i'll discuss it with the agency and see what they say... shame cos my agent is on hols today...

Paddlechick666 · 20/04/2007 14:01

and look great with those jeans!

bunyanvillas · 20/04/2007 14:01

Oh I like that top Quokka

Nanou I think I would probably have made the same decision as you. I'm sure that you can reschedule your interview. Good luck with it all.

Nanou1 · 20/04/2007 14:02

i love it quokka! gorgeous

quokka · 20/04/2007 14:02

imo I think your thinking of them rather than yourself. If they are having a bad time and they can't afford you, then they will have no problem letting you go.

Paddlechick666 · 20/04/2007 14:02

certainly not! don't stress it over the weekend then, call them up on Monday and am sure they will be happy to re-organise.

okay, i think dd has reached her capacity so off to get her now.

quokka · 20/04/2007 14:03

business is business - I'm a hard cow!

pudding77 · 20/04/2007 14:07

ds has only been asleep for an hour, cue hard afternoon for puds! Will have to go to the park I think.

Paddle - glad you had a great time, you definitely sound more relaxed iykwim!

Nanou - I would have done the same, such an awkward time. Could they do it for first think in the morning then you could just go in late with an excuse?

Quokka - !

Nanou1 · 20/04/2007 14:09

thanks for saying that Paddle. am truly touched . and thank you bunyan! am glad someone understands me!!! but its a bit risky as 3rd interview with President europe middle est & africa of big company ; ie very busy bee and the company has already been waiting for me for 2nd interview cos i was on hols. one would think that i am playing hard to get!! dh very happy - just sent email re 2nd interview for job in .... switzerland! why is life so bloody complicated....

Paddlechick666 · 20/04/2007 14:23

lol nanou, life likes to throw a curve ball!

that interview on tuesday sounds very high-powered!

good idea to ask them to schedule it first thing then you can get to your office later - blame dd being ill.

quokka's right too tho, they won't have any problem letting you go if they have to.

just given dd some of my sprite - i've created a monster!

now where's that stash of fruitshoots LOL.

wonder if she'll mind hanging at the house all arvo - grandma took her to the park already today and i'm a little low on energy

ps: thanks pud!

stepfordwife · 20/04/2007 14:52

hi everyone
haven't been online this week as been "working." ha bloody ha!
i think i need the equivalent of a personal trainer to sit over me at my desk and force me to go for the (work) burn. hmmm, that phrase probably died a death with jane fonda..la fonda's era probably the last time i went to a gym come to think of it...

how DO people work from home? ( i scrubbed my doorstep the other week to avoid work. why oh why? am i a little greek housewife? not being greekist or housewifeist, btw..)

answers on a postcard, please...

foxie - you're a regular ma-about-town now with your brood of 3, eh?

paddle - hope your "awayday" revived you. sometimes you just need that me-shaped space, don't you?

sue - hope ds' assessment went OK. but everyone's right - your own instincts and, whisper it, common sense tell you if your child's doing all right
and, yes, all the "charts" are indeedy based on ff babies.
nearly time for school pickup..feeling so good i've paid my childminder to look after dd today so i can drink cappuccino/put clothes in charity bags/channel hop narrowly resisting watching an old episode of cagney and lacey/discussed america's gun laws with the builders next door/sigh at my grey hair in the mirror/(hairdresser tomorrow thank god)/eat chocolate...ho-hum.

was fab to meet some of you t'other week and be grand to see you/others soon..meanwhile. have a great weekend, all. toodlepip!

Paddlechick666 · 20/04/2007 15:00

oooh our very own SueJonez has made the Mumsnet Roundup!

I'm so proud

SW, sounds like you've had a rather pleasant day yourself.

Apart from the hangover my awayday has done me no end of good!

Here's how the other half live tho, my sister is giving herself an early birthday present by getting both nipples pierced tomorrow.

I've tried to persuade her to just do one tho, it's always nice to have a contrast, but she's not buying it!

BTW, the evils of shirking from home are well known to me. I have absolutely no willpower and generally just end up on here all day!

Luckily I'm still signed off tho

stepfordwife · 20/04/2007 15:01

quokka..any more fireman sam lines?! just after more distraction...

sfxmum · 20/04/2007 15:05

stepford that sounds like a busy day to me, and i would bet that discussions with the builders turned to the death penalty at some point

paddle you do indeed sound refreshed sore head and all.

further down it looked like the style sectionno way can i wear those volume tops.

dd kicked me full on in the throat earlier, by accident of course but made me see stars
