Brand new thread for a new month.

Hi Quokka: changes have worked out fine. work is pretty easy really and most of the people are fab (now).
I think the 3 days/ week is a brill balance. Kids have fallen in love with the nanny and having 3 days of 'mental' exercise really works for me.
And the money REALLY helps, of course.

whne you off to S'pore?

quokka · 18/04/2007 10:10

2nd or 3rd of June, and going for 4 days on the 27th Arpil to try and find somewhere to live. The best thing about that is the lo's aren't coming . I plan on doing some shopping, sleeping in, and dh might even get lucky

quokka · 18/04/2007 10:11

Mellow and foxy are you still coming over?

mellow2 · 18/04/2007 10:13

Glad the wound has clotted. I find the first time anything happens with dd, it throws me into a panic and the second time I'm cool as a cucumber.

pudding77 · 18/04/2007 12:17

Hi all, glad ds2 is better quokka!

I am in a slightly better mood than I was last night - bloody husbands is all I will say otherwise I'll get all riled up again!

We've been swimming this morning so hoping for a long nap from ds and I can then actually get something done!

mellow2 · 18/04/2007 15:33

Quoks,
Thanks for the hospitality today. Dd really enjoyed herself. I left dd's sippy cup behind. We'll come round to pick it up this weekend.

I did try to text you. What happened to your moby?

Nice to see you and your 3 cubs, foxie.

left my mobile at the il's but will be getting it back this weekend hopefully!

suejonez · 18/04/2007 16:34

I have arranged the first ever meeting of families who have adopted from KAzkahstan this Sunday. There should be about 3-5 families (we're not exactly thick on the ground). I feel quite emotional about DS meeting some kazakh childern again, soft sod. If anyone is around we'll be there about 11-2pm.

I am ridiculously excited about it.

I'm also hoping to take him to a falconry festival in the summer which has a big Kaz contingent going as Falconry is beleived to have orignated in Centrla Asia so the kazakhs always attend apparently. I get free tickets becuase I'm in the British/kazakh society [cheapskate emoticon].

pudding77 · 18/04/2007 16:51

Where are you meeting Sue?

foxcub · 18/04/2007 17:14

Sue that sounds amazing and can understand why you feel emotional about DS meeting his fellow Kazak Kids

Quokka - thanx 4 today and sorry I was a bit Dipsy - Monti waking me 3/4 times a night takes its toll - got a lie in but still felt away with the fairies. Thanx for all those fab surfy doody clothes and the big bug!!

mellow - nice to see you and DD too

Just been to Kew library to stock up on dvds/vids - don't do "reading books atm"

foxcub · 18/04/2007 17:14

Paddle - how R U today? are you still feeling poorly?

Eleusis · 18/04/2007 17:48

I can't keep up with all the day time thread activity.

Only skimmed really quickly. Quokka, hope Ds is better soon. I find Ice Cream takes the pain away!

Sue, you should come to work with me. Lots of Kazes all around. (mostly young single and childless though)

pudding77 · 18/04/2007 19:12

Just a quick poll to see if anyone's around the second May bank holiday on either the Saturday or Sunday? If so, do you fancy meeting at Kew Green (if the weather's nice) or at mine (if it's not)?

MrsRecycle · 18/04/2007 19:17

..but are they rich and male eleusis? If so I think Sue would definitely be interested .

Quick question, my friend has just had a baby girl who nearly died at birth and they are due home soon. Does anyone have a baby monitor that detects movement that they might want to get rid of? I've a feeling she's not going to get many nights of sleep and will be checking dd2 every minute, poor thing.

MrsRecycle · 18/04/2007 19:17

Sorry puds - that's half term week so will be away for 10 days.

quokka · 18/04/2007 19:23

I'm in S'pore - sorry

I have a regular monitor just for sound - but not movement. I think bosieboo do a reasonable priced one?
