Hi,

Got this started 'cos I think the other thread is going to run out before the end of tomorrow.

OP posts:
Eleusis · 28/03/2007 12:17

Quiche sounds lovely.

suejonez · 28/03/2007 12:28

have we got to wear party frocks?

Eleusis · 28/03/2007 12:29

Party frock? NO!

foxcub · 28/03/2007 12:37

Sue - avacado, couscous
COV -
Eleusis - sandwiches (kids), salad (mums)
Paddle -
Nanou -
Foxie - Breast milk (hee hee)

MrsRecycle - how did you get rid of the thrush????? Am on fluconazole and don't think its working

MrsRecycle · 28/03/2007 13:50

Foxie - the stuff the GP locum gave me was useless. I rang the BFMothers helpline and they had never heard of it for thrush. What they said is that it only gets in through the cracked nips and keeps on getting passed between you and baby so is a vicious circle so you have to treat baby at the sametime. The doctor just gave me the cream and none for ds. They recommended buying daktarot (or something like that) oral gel that is used to treat atheletes foot. I saw it in Superdrug the other day, you can buy it over the counter - I'm off out in a mo I'll have a look for the exact spelling. It contains metronizile (or something like that - my memory is vague) and you must treat ds2' the sametime as yourself.

Also, the other thing that really helped (recommended by Dr Jack Newman) to get rid of the cracked nips was the breast shells (not shields). I've got some I lent to a friend whose stopped bf and I could lend them to you if you want. I really can't talk highly enough of them. I left them on for 24 hours and I was completely healed (yes that quick!).

ele - would love to come but we're off to the caravan Friday night.

nopudstilleaster · 28/03/2007 15:19

Ele, love to come Saturday but have to find something to wear for a friend's wedding. Hate pressure shopping!

MrsR, I'm up for Kew tomorrow - shall we meet at C&C again?

foxcub · 28/03/2007 18:28

MrsR - Daktarin? I have the cream for my nips and gel for Monti, but its in the ducts too.

Would be interested in the shells - R they for when feeding, or between feeds?

ComeOVeneer · 28/03/2007 18:30

Oh pants, I just went up to dd's bathroom to get something and one of her bl**dy goldfish is floating dead at the top of the tank. I haven't got the guts to tell her right now. Am waiting until dh gets home in half an hour, and hope I can keep her out her room until then .

xoxo · 28/03/2007 18:50

cut up a carrot and pop it in the tank

ComeOVeneer · 28/03/2007 18:54

LOL trouble is it is actually a black one.

xoxo · 28/03/2007 19:06

Licourice?

Eleusis · 28/03/2007 19:53

Oh no COV! This happened to a friend of mine once when her DD was about your DD's age. So, she flushed it down the toilet. And her DD got up to use the loo, and came running into the living room declaring the fish was in the toilet... guess it didn't quite flush. And interestingly this child had the same first name as your DD.

Hope you have better luck.

foxcub · 28/03/2007 21:43

Flush it down the loo and tell her its gone to meet Nemo

Eleusis · 28/03/2007 21:44

Just sent you a text. Did you get it?

foxcub · 28/03/2007 22:00

Hi ele - thanx - will check in morning as phone off and downstairs and me too tired to walk downstairs ...

nopudstilleaster · 29/03/2007 09:24

MrsR & Quokka - are you still up for Kew? Though it does seem like its going to be rainy today

suejonez · 29/03/2007 09:52

Foxie I have ele's address if you didn't get it. Do you need anything on Friday?

foxcub · 29/03/2007 13:22

Ele - got the text thanx.

Sue - I'm on a "kill the candida" diet so what I am eating is limited, so thanx for offering but I'm fine

suejonez · 29/03/2007 13:40

avocado is fine presumably then?

MrsRecycle · 29/03/2007 15:02

Yes daktarin foxie! I used the shells in between feeds - in fact I wore them to the Mumsnet Xmas party! They are amazing for healing. I'll ask my friend for them and pop them in the post to you.

Quokka - thank for the lift for df ds! He slept soundly in the car.

Puds - hope your ds managed to take a nap.

foxcub · 29/03/2007 18:02

Sue - I've been practically living on avocados for the last three days!! (in fact its all I've eaten) as I couldn't think what else to eat when I cut out bread and sugar! Wierdly, I've had massive cravibgs for bread and sweet stuff - apparently a sign of the body fighting candida infection. Or maybe I just like starch and sugar LOL!

My best friend in the playground left the school today - I've been so up my own arse the last three weeks I got her date wrong and thought she wasn't leaving until next week

MrsR - I didn't notice your nipple shells at the Christmas do!

Swee - thanx for the e-mail

Had a fab visit to the doctor this morning. Am self medicating an unlisenced drug for the thrush and had convinced myself at 2am this morning that I was probably killing myself or Monti, but lovely GP was very reassuring and said I was doing the right thing

Wonder how Paddle is doing on her course?

Paddle Hi - glad its all going well and that DH is behaving. You'll realy appreciate DD this weekend though won't you, having been apart all week?

mellow2 · 30/03/2007 10:33

Hello everyone,

I haven't been around as we're launching a new website at work during weekdays and working on building the online shop at weeknights and weekends.

But it's my official last day at work today (I'm coming back for one more day next week) but otherwise I'm done and I could focus on my site.

Foxie,
You're very welcome. Have you seen this info on Kelly;s Mom about thrush and probiotics?

does anyone have an alliance and Leicester account - I'm thinking of changing accounts and you can get £25 for recommending me? Open to west london crew before I throw it open to Mumsnet generally.
