Hi,

Got this started 'cos I think the other thread is going to run out before the end of tomorrow.

OP posts:
decafskinnylatte · 26/03/2007 14:12

xoxo and Eleusis. Have the same arguments at home with dh right now! He is a shameless Torygraph reader and I have always favoured the Guardian (less so recently too).

Hope all's going well with the campaign xoxo.

Enjoy your sunny meet ups this week all. Would love to join in as of next week. DCs still in nursery 4 days until end of this week.

DH is now looking over shoulder, bemused by my recent affair with MN. Says hello .

suejonez · 26/03/2007 14:12

just realised that there is probably a gate [duh emoticon]

Eleusis · 26/03/2007 14:12

GATE

suejonez · 26/03/2007 14:13

what time were you thinking ele?

Eleusis · 26/03/2007 14:14

Sorry about my poor typing.

Decaf, if you are free on Saturday, you are welcome to come to my abode in sunny Sunbury.

GATE GATE GATE... There are no cats in my house. There will never be cats in my house!

suejonez · 26/03/2007 14:15

shame, DS loves cats particularly old slow ones which can't run away.

Eleusis · 26/03/2007 14:15

Um, don't know. Hadn't thought that far. I'm open to suggestions.

decafskinnylatte · 26/03/2007 14:16

That's really sweet, Eleusis. I would love to but am having a rare boozy lunch out with the girls (rugby WAGS!) whilst our dhs leave our dcs to fend for themselves on the touchlines - don't even want to think about it.

suejonez · 26/03/2007 14:18

well my DS is a bit unreliable on the napping front at the moment so having moved to one post lunch nap is now back to two a day - have no idea why but it may be linked to his recent cough and being more tired. So best to arrange what suits anyone else going and I'll fit.

Does you DS still nap or has he outgrown it? Can;t remember what age they generally give up a nap.

nopudstilleaster · 26/03/2007 14:21

sue, when ds was dropping his nap he would do so for a little while then go back to having two. When he's ill, he tends to have two as well. Now though he's gone back to one. Ime (so far!) it seems to take them a while to adjust.

Eleusis · 26/03/2007 14:22

Yep, he still naps. (and so does DD when we get really brassed off with her attitude )

DS usually goes down after lunch. But, I'm happy to shift the nap time around to suit the day's schedule. Or if your DS needs a nap when you are at my house, he could use DS's cot, or there's a travel cot up in my bedroom. Depends of course on how happy he is to sleep in a srange place. Or, if he'll sleep in his pram we gould find him a dark room for a snooze.

suejonez · 26/03/2007 14:28

don't think it will be too big a problem Ele, he will just stay awake and be grumpy later. He generally won't nap in a strange place but mostly because its too exciting and he doesn't want to miss anything. If pushed I suppose I wold prefer 11-2ish and give him lunch there if thats OK with you but don;t mind moving it to suit others.

sfxmum · 26/03/2007 15:07

hello all

it was lovely out today but the wind is still a bit cold, dd now having a nap, still adjusting to the hour change.
i think i will spend a lot of time at kew tomorrow it appears to be the warmest day of the week, then swimming wed.

about the papers i have always read both the guardian and the torygraph but occasionally to my shame i go all daily mail but i do come to my senses pretty sharpish

i hope you are all well

nopudstilleaster · 26/03/2007 15:15

I'm still trying to get ds off for a nap, he's so tired but just will not sleep.

Not sure what we're doing tomorrow, probably Kew or something.

Re papers, I'm still a Guardian reader though we do get the Sunday Times. Sfx, the daily mail ?

MrsRecycle · 26/03/2007 15:15

Quokka/Puds - Thursday would be good at Kew. Anyone else want to join us?

Ele - sorry can't do Saturday as will be sunning myself on the beach in Camber. But thanks for the invite .

suejonez · 26/03/2007 15:28

sfxmum · 26/03/2007 15:33

Eleusis · 26/03/2007 15:45

I don't have time to read any newspaper. Of course, I woul dif I stayed off of mumsnet, but that isn't likely.

I do, however, read news.bbc.co.uk. Does that count?

suejonez · 26/03/2007 15:49

Have jsut remembered that I'm off tomorrow (last Tuesday off ) but am waiting for a delivery of my new car seat from kiddicare so will play by ear any visit to Kew (but would be up for it if seat arrives early).

Eleusis · 26/03/2007 16:36

You will get no pity from me. I work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday every week of every year. Work work work....

But, I'm so looking forward to free full time school when I will then get my pay off.

xoxo · 26/03/2007 16:56

Elew - sorry but we are TV hunting on Saturday. Ours died .
(maybe I'm not - maybe I'm secretly campaigning for the return of Maggie. Or is the Lady not for Returning?)

And I have to work 4 days this week. poo.

On bright side, we went to a fab Dolly Parton do at the weekend. Really great. The pub also do Tom Jones, Elvis and Neil Diamond nights, all about £15 - 18, incl food. May be an idea for teh June night out? any thoughts anyone?

Eleusis · 26/03/2007 17:03

Yeah right, telly. You are going to get DS a tattoo and flick knife, aren't you? Come on... fess up.

Paddlechick666 · 26/03/2007 18:57

dh took dd to CM and left work at 4pm to pick her up. will do same Weds & Fri and is taking Tuesday & Thursday off to look after her.

am very pleased.

you may see dd and dh at kew tomorrow and/or thursday, be gentle please ladies!

might well be around saturday Ele.

btw, i don't bribe people to visit with carrot cake. i just use their impending visit as a good excuse to partake myself.

nopudstilleaster · 26/03/2007 19:25

evening all, thought I'd pop in now as I have to use the pc at the minute and there's no tv in the office. So chances are I won't be back until tomorrow!

May also head off to Kew tomorrow as its going to be nice. Sue, if your delivery turns up early then give me a call and perhaps we can arrange to meet? I'll probably be there in the morning, give ds his lunch and head off for a walk for most of the afternoon so sure we can organise something. Otherwise, I can come back home via Mothercare.

Quokka - thanks for having us today & for feeding ds! I tried the oil out tonight, ds definitely enjoyed it being rubbed on as he was giggling the whole time!

have a good evening

quokka · 26/03/2007 19:29

great news about the course PC, been meaning to get an update from you!

Well I am sooo glad ds2 decised to do a poo and smear it all over the carpet before the new carpet gets laid next week! Apologies for the smell Puds . Let me know how the aromatherapy works. I promise it's never usually that caotic here !
