Hi,

Got this started 'cos I think the other thread is going to run out before the end of tomorrow.

OP posts:
Eleusis · 27/03/2007 14:24

Let's do 12:00. I'll orgainse some lunch. If people want to bring anything (i.e. think Sue wants to bring carrot cake), then that's fine. Just let me know what you are bringing so we don't end up with too much (wasted) food.

I'll make a grown up salad (leafy green variety), and probably some sandwiches for the kids.

Right, can't wait to find out just how much COV's son does in fact look like mine. It is rumoured that they may be clones.

Off to check weather report...

susie40 · 27/03/2007 14:37

Gosh amida, I used to work with Doy 20 years ago, didn't know she went on to become a homeopath.

Just posted in Health asking for local dentist recommendations for "difficult" DS(3.5) - I know he will scream the place down and refuse to co-operate - any ideas?

ComeOVeneer · 27/03/2007 14:40

Wish I could help but I am no longer working, and when I did it wasn't around these parts (Hertfordshire way). Hopefully someone will come along with a recommendation soon.

suejonez · 27/03/2007 15:02

my dentist is fab but expensive but no idea hiw good he is with children (htough he has his own) - David Callaghan in North Road, Kew (Kew Dental Practice?)

suejonez · 27/03/2007 15:03

I will bring avocado (kids or adults) and carrot cakes and some soft drinks

foxcub · 27/03/2007 15:20

Amidaiwish - thanks for that - so she's good is she? I have breast thrush and some people on MN have said that homeopathic remedies worked for them (sulphur I think). What do you think?

Suzie - I took mine to my dentist - Back Lane Practice in Ham. Really nice young Kiwi guy who made it fun for them - very informal. I could give you their number if you're interested.

Ele - thanks for the invitation, I really want to come over to yours on Saturday. I am in a very dark place at the moment because of the feeding problems and finding it difficult facing anyone tbh. Do you have anywhere I could sit quietly if Monti needs feeding? i.e. another room? His feeds take about 40 minutes I warn you...

Eleusis · 27/03/2007 15:32

Yes, you can go up to my bedroom or the kids room and sit there and feed for as long as you like. DH is going away with his brother this weekend so there won't be any strange men walking in on you. (not that my DH is strange )

Eleusis · 27/03/2007 15:36

Sue (DS)
Paddle (DD)
Nanou (DD)
COV (DD and DS)
Foxie (DD and DSx2)

Did I miss anyone?

xoxo · 27/03/2007 15:44

I've been to see Doy at Neals Yard in Richmond when ds small and kept getting colds, as did I. Back when I did not agree with antibiotics. She was fab.

Good dentist is Stephan Van Eyke at Richmond Bridge. he is fab with my two (ages 2 and 4).

suejonez · 27/03/2007 16:07

Foxie - you sound a bit down - can I bring you something nice over from M&S - DS will be awake any second and I could pop over with something then? perhaps I'll text you.

amidaiwish · 27/03/2007 18:24

Fox - i think Doy is excellent and very easy to talk to.

my mum has seen her for years, i saw her for a while a few years ago and now i bring DD2 as she has allergies. i have recommended her to a few others who all think she is great. DH even sees her for his hayfever, though not much success with that so far...

trying2bgood · 27/03/2007 21:26

hello all, have been really busy lately so have had no time to post. Bumped into nanao yesterday which was a nice surprise. Hope everyone is good. I am a little annoyed at myself, I was told by Tywford sports centre that I had to phone yesterday to put down dd1's name for Gymnastics and of course I forgot so when I called today it was all full! My dd1 is abit upset about it!

Quokka - are you about tomorrow pm, if u are around drop me an email and I will come over after tennis.

quokka · 27/03/2007 21:48

Foxy hope your feeling better or on the road to feeling better

T2bgood I'm around tomorrow and I'm hoping thats its sunny again so we will be in the back yard. Might even pop over and watch your dd see if it interests ds1?

xoxo · 27/03/2007 22:02

Quokka: what's happening with Singapore?

susie40 · 27/03/2007 22:23

xoxo thanks for the dentist rec - looked him up in an online dentist directory I found and it says the practice specialise in paediatric dentistry, sounds ideal.

suejonez · 28/03/2007 10:21

I have found a dentist in KEw who will accept children on the NHS (wonder of wonders!), Cov - when should I take DS to the dentist for the first time?

foxcub · 28/03/2007 11:01

Sue - I didn't take mine until they were three, DS was scared and ran out of the surgery!!! I only took them back about a month ago (a week before Monti was due - talk about leaving it until the last minute). But they both have great teeth (I am very anal retentive about cleaning their teeth and they are allowed chocolate as a treat but generally no sweets). Sorry I missed your offer yesterday.

I've cut out all bread and sugar to get rid of the thrush . Also cereals - WTF can I have for breakfast (suddenly remembers what eggs are for....)

Thanx Ele - can you text me your address?

ComeOVeneer · 28/03/2007 11:19

Morning all.

Foxie hope you can make Saturday, I am dying to see Monti (broody as usual).

Ele got your email thanks. What food stuff can I bring for Saturday?

Sue I recommend you take DS with you whenever you go for appts. providing it is just a check up, just so he gets used to the environment, sights, sounds etc. Then tryhim out slowly for a quick look see from around 2 years old. But no pressure. If they won't go in the chair they can stand at the side, if they want to go for a ride in the chair but not open their mouth fine. Then they will be more trusting and it should go smoothly hth.

MrsRecycle · 28/03/2007 11:24

Hi foxie!

Ouch - I remember the Thrush episode like it was yesterday. I had Oatso-Simple for breakfast - oats are meant to increase your milk supply and they certainly worked for me. Also protein is good for supply so eggs will be good for breakfast. Mind you if he's been latching on for 40 minutes, you'll have no problem with supply.

On a separate note, quokka and I (and anyone else who fancies it) are meeting at Kew on Thursday around 11am - are you up to venturing out? I managed to find a quiet seat to bf ds (he only likes peace and quiet when he's being fed). It would be nice to see you and you will honestly start to feel more human having a trip out (rather than a milk machine!).

pc - glad to hear your dh is towing the line and taking care of dd. About time!

sue - how's your new car?

ComeOVeneer · 28/03/2007 11:27

Would love to do Kew tomorrow but we are (finally) having our roof fixed tomorrowso can't venture out other than the school run.

suejonez · 28/03/2007 11:30

thanks Cov - only problme is that my dentist is not taking on any NHS patients now, even childrne so it will be a different dentist for him. Think I will register him now and play it by ear.

suejonez · 28/03/2007 11:31

I will also bring some couscous as I'm into it at the moment and DS loves it.

MrsRecycle · 28/03/2007 11:34

sue - our nhs dentist registered ds when he was 2 weeks old!

CoV - that's a shame - I'm bringing my friends little boy along and he could've played well with your ds.

Eleusis · 28/03/2007 12:07

Recap for Saturday:

Sue - avacado, couscous
COV -
Eleusis - sandwiches (kids), salad (mums)
Paddle -
Nanou -
Foxie -

If you don't have the time or inclination to bring food, that's fine. I'm happy to provide it.

Please ad/subtract screennames and food items as appropriate.

I told DD last night we were having a party on Saturday and she's really excited. (must take after her mummy: loves a good party)

ComeOVeneer · 28/03/2007 12:14

I can make a couple of quiches if people like them. Just let me know and I'll make them Friday.
