Had to create a new thread as we've already filled the old one!

2cute, I would love to meet up with you and your ds but I have my NCT coffee this afternoon and once ds has woken up from his nap, I have to go sort out my MIL's bday present.

Are you free next week at all?

What do you do on wet sunday afternoons with a crawler rather than a walker on your hands. Are there any indoor places open on a sunday?

suejonez · 25/02/2007 09:30

where did you go for teh party - I can;t remember? You're better than I am with the cake - I would have been down M&S

foxabout2pop · 25/02/2007 09:36

Sue/T2BG - me too - in fact its DH's birthday today so I will be down M&S getting a cake

Sue - DS might like Snakes and Ladders in Syon Park. There is a 0-4 section with lots of tunnels to crawl in and soft toys. It gets busy at the weekends though.

sfxmum · 25/02/2007 09:44

morning all

we will be walking to M&S via puddles, that ought to make dd happy then i'm afraid it will be mummy the toddler entertainer at home

trying2bgood · 25/02/2007 10:07

sue - childs play cafe also a good spot to go to if you want to get out of the rain. They also do good coffee for mums!

We had the party at virgin active in acton. My dh thought it was brill but as mentioned he spent most of the time childless in the cafe area with the other parents!!! Although I did not mind as he would have been no help and would have probably spent most of the time saying 'should they do that?'.

And believe me I do not envisage baking another cake - it took most of a day although that could be because I was being rubbish!

Hello,
Thread has moved so fast that I don't know what's going on. As far as I can work out, Foxy's cub has yet to arrive (so fingers crossed he'll turn up next week)
And things are better on the home front with paddle (pleased for you paddle) and t2bg's dd had a birthday bash (belated greetings to your dd, t2bg)

ILs were here yesterday. I was frostier than usual with MIL as she's jerked us around on CM over the last couple of months but she was quieter than usual so I'm sure she knows I'm cross. No matter.

I'm finding it really hard to be pleasant despite my best efforts.

Wish I'm better at being the inscrutable Oriental.

quokka · 25/02/2007 11:08

Sorry to hear about il's mellow . How was fashion week?

MrsRecycle · 25/02/2007 11:10

Thanks for the summary mellow - just a quick post for me, I'm afraid. ds is not too well - has a fever and can't be put down. Has spent the last two nights in bed with me. The GP wanted to see him yesterday and thinks he has a virus. And dh is away - thank heavens my friend lives 5 doors down and I could share a bottle of wine with her last night. Off to bath the girls and take dd2 to a party at Paint the Plate. If ds is better in the week, I'll see if I can catch up with some of you sometime.

mellow2 · 25/02/2007 11:14

Fashion Week was okay. I didn't go to the fashion shows. I only went to the exhibition so it was quite dull but I did put in both S/S and A/W orders. I'm quite excited about the stuff I ordered.

mellow2 · 25/02/2007 11:15

Sorry to hear about ds's fever, MrsR. It's always worrying when they're not well. Hope he's better soon.

foxabout2pop · 25/02/2007 12:20

MrsR - hope your little DS gets better soon.

Mellow - fashion week sounds very exciting

I am 39 weeks today BTW so I am now on "high alert" and expecting labour to start in the next few days....

Have been eating curry and pineapple to try and start things off.

Am supposed to go for a baby monitoring appt tomorrow but Monti is moving loads, so may postpone it until Friday as I'm not even overdue yet.

Am going to write to my bank today to claim back 6 years worth of bank charges

suejonez · 25/02/2007 12:25

Thanks for the S&L and Cahld play cafe tips I might try one of them Monday afternoon. Its tricky to plan ahead as he naps at a different time every day at the moment. Yesterday 1pm (for 45 mins) day before 11am today 11.45 ( hopefully longer than 45 mins!)

Mellow are you a fashionista then [impressed emoticon].

Foxie - are you still here/still pregnant? (how many times can I say that before you get really really irritated rather than just irritated?)

sfxmum · 25/02/2007 12:28

hi all

mrsR sorry about your LO hope he gets better soon

mellow - oh the IL! did you get stuff for your site?

thinking back to pre baby i would be getting ready for an all night Oscar party but alas will just be watching the fabulous shallowness which is the red carpet show on the v. vulgar E! oh i love itthey are all so so sincere!

foxabout2pop · 25/02/2007 12:29

Sue - I don't mind that question at all.

The one that pees me off is when people I don't know and have never seen before walk past and remark "oooh not long now then, when is it due?"

I feel like responding, "well I'm only 3 months gone actually"

I know they mean well but my narky hormones are rampaging and 90% of the world's population annoys me atm

Mumsnetters don't though

suejonez · 25/02/2007 12:44

Can I preen about a previous life OScars experience?

Good

I once was invited to an Oscars party in New York hosted by DeBeers (the diamond people) in teh penthouse of the Royalton Hotel (one of the pncey Ian Schrager ones).

It was attended by most of the new york fashion press... and me. I was the only one not in black. The accessories editor from Harpers & Queen (yes there is such a job) thought I was eccentric but MAAAARVELOUS.

De Beers lent me $40,000 of diamond to wear !!!!!!!

suejonez · 25/02/2007 12:45

sorry missed out the darling

"You're so eccentric but MAAAARVELOUS dah-ling"

sfxmum · 25/02/2007 12:46

yes i am impresses esp at H&Q accessories editor bless her of course you are marvelous are DeBeers ethical these days?

foxinsocks · 25/02/2007 12:47

hi fox - only saw your question now. Yes, I'm in your neck of the woods.

And I think any of you who go to S&L on a weekend are eligible for a Family Bravery Award!

sfxmum · 25/02/2007 12:47

did you go for the diamond tiara?

suejonez · 25/02/2007 12:59

she was a he (the Queen half of Harpers - as camp as they come) - can you beleive all I got for $40,000 was a solitare diamond bacelet, neclace and earings (they were quite big dimonds though and it was retial value) they were the winning design in a jewelery competition DeBeers were sponsering.

Don;t know if they are ethical these days - it was about 10 years ago when they were a client.

Good fun though - and one of my rare drunk as a skunk events!

suejonez · 25/02/2007 13:00

think I am less "eccentric" than I used to be (obviously motherhood has calmed me!)

foxabout2pop · 25/02/2007 13:06

Other fox - hey, why not come to some of our meets?

(agree about the bravery award for S&L at the weekend )

Can I name drop now - errr, actually Vivienne Westward asked me to model for her onec (yes, beleive it or not I was young once). I was so scared I feigned illness!!!

sfxmum · 25/02/2007 13:07

silly me of course it was He! accessorizing is an art
did your pic show up on the mag under 'society' or something like 'the hot parties of the season'
sounds like fun

my Oscar parties meant junk food movie talk while sober then just bitching

sfxmum · 25/02/2007 13:08

i love VW all those corsets so gorgeous

pudding77 · 25/02/2007 15:32
