Had to create a new thread as we've already filled the old one!

2cute, I would love to meet up with you and your ds but I have my NCT coffee this afternoon and once ds has woken up from his nap, I have to go sort out my MIL's bday present.

Are you free next week at all?

trying2bgood · 23/02/2007 23:14

hope you are all well, have been very busy last couple of days and spent the whole day making dd1's b-day cake - inpired by quokka's! Although luckily for dd1, I was under the watchful eye of a good friend who loves baking! Tomorrow is her party and once that is over will be able to breathe again - sigh! Do they get any easier?

Have a great weekend all!

Fox - hope you and bump are well.

what's happened to nanou?

sfx - hope you find a plumber.

suejonez · 23/02/2007 23:32

"hate the reality of smelly pigs and poo etc!!" - don;t actually mind it Foxie but draw the line at DS crawling around in it when he puts everything in his mouth at the moment. Would be hard to explain to social worker why my son has foot and mouth disease!!

pudding77 · 24/02/2007 07:53

Sue, my ds is the same, he would pick something off the floor and eat it given half the chance! I'd also prefer to go back to the farms when he's walking as ds just gets bored at being in his pushchair. Having said that, I don't think it will be long - he took one little step last night [proud mum emoticon]!

morning all

well done little puds once they go there is no stopping them

i really like farms not bothered by the smells at all, there are far worst things, but farms are are work

dd had very late nap yesterday from 5-7 bed at 10 then slept through till 8, fantastic!
i think after the last 2 v. exciting days she needs some quiet time today

dh working again this weekend, i really miss having him around

quokka · 24/02/2007 08:37

sfx email me at lauren akers @ yahoo . com if you need plumbers number. Otherwise he's in the book under "Dan the Plumber"

I have a free week next week as neighbours are on hols so wont be looking after their dd. Hounslow farm sounds good, if weather permits.

What kind of cake did you do t2bgood?

I'm off for boozy lunch, dh is looking after lo's all day . My good friend is getting married and this is like a hens lunch, but much classier! I need to go to Ann Summers beforehand and get her something silly!

sfxmum · 24/02/2007 08:54

many thanks quokka enjoy lunch

foxabout2pop · 24/02/2007 09:01

Quokka - that sounds like a fab day you've got lined up!!

We need some tiles put on the kitchen floor so I might e-mail you as well to get Dan's details as I've foolishly left them on my work mobile.

Hi everyone else - Puds/Sue - if we return to Bocketts at Easter I bet both your LOs will be "toddlers" by then anyway! Plus there'll bo so much more to do if we can use the outside bit of the farm too.

I must admit I'm a real townie at heart and the bit I enjoyed most at Bocketts was sitting on my arse for an hour and a half in that big play area; not having to watch the kids! LOL!!

This is why Lollipop appeals....

Saying that, its great for the kids to see all the animals and the animals at Bocketts were so friendly weren't they?

Paddle/2cute if you wanna go to Hounslow Fram on Tuesday I can pick you both up on the way with your LOs

Treated us to an Ocada on line shop (usually constrained to Tescos) to celebrate my temporary sahmness and our new cheaper mortgage.

Can't wait for it to arrive yummy!

Paddlechick666 · 24/02/2007 09:06

morning all

please can someone tell my why i'm running round like a blue arsed fly making shepherds pie for dinner and heading out to tesco.

i really am not sure how i feel about this visit - feel rather used actually!

anyways, Hounslow on Tuesday sounds good to me. I'd prefer to drive tbh, getting dd's car seat out of my vehicle is easy enuff but getting it back in is another story!

Quokka, your lunch sounds great, have a fab time.

does anyone know what age Snakes & Ladders at syon is up to? need somewhere to take skids this arvo........

foxie, your shop sounds fab! skint doesn't describe our situation right now. had wanted to have a chinese tonight but tbh, can't justify the cost

foxabout2pop · 24/02/2007 09:15

Paddle - do you feel used 'cos he chooses to turn up on weekends when skiddos are with him?

Your DD can sit in my DD's purple car seat (age 9 months - 4 years) as DD is now big enough to sit in a "big girl's" seat. I have given her DS's and DS now only needs a booster. IKWYM about fitting the stage 2 seats though - I always leave DD's in our car as its a bloody nightmare to fit and involves crawling around on the back seat which I don't "do" atm!!! I'm so glad she's big enough for the next stage now.

2cute - that would mean we'll need to put your DS's car seat into my car when I pick you up.

Snakes and Ladders seems to have kids up to about 10 years. That huge slide is certainly Ok for bigger kids.

foxabout2pop · 24/02/2007 09:17

PS..Paddle - S&L also has a great outdoor adventure playground which the skiddos would like, me thinks

Your DD can play in the 0-4 part

sfxmum · 24/02/2007 09:24

paddle i think you have the patience of a saint and a rather hopeful one at that, i hope you manage to have a proper talk

foxie oh the lovely ocado do you know when you don't shop with them for a while they send you money off vouchers and sometimes gifts

not sure what i will do next week but i think lollipop is out on thu since i have the exam in the evening having said that i might still try to get out of it

quokka · 24/02/2007 09:43

I don't know how you do it PC, I hope its all worth it for you .

Ocado are always sending me offers as long as I buy from them once or twice a month. If you buy every week they stop promotional offers.

foxinsocks · 24/02/2007 09:58

hello

meant to tell you about a fabulous place I took my kids to this half term. It's called Look Out in Bracknell (it's just off junction 3 of the M3 - took me no time AT ALL from here).

The inside is like the hands on bit of the science museum but much more spacious and lots more things for the kids to experiment with. Outside, there are 2 playgrounds and a big forest to walk in (also, an aerial assault course for the over 10s).

I hadn't even heard of it until quite recently so just wanted to mention it in case you didn't know about it!

MrsBigD · 24/02/2007 10:00

Hi everyone, this fell off my list. I'm so glad when ds is back in nursery for 2 days a week. I'll have time for mumsnet again

PC hope all goes well

Foxie any signs of labour yet?

2Cute · 24/02/2007 10:03

Morning all I don't know any plumbers sorry sfx but hope you get everything sorted.

Paddle - Totally understandable why you feele used. I know you're just glad he's round and probably need to keep tip toeing around him but is there any way you could ask him why he's only ever there when he's with the s-kids?

Foxi - Oh bum, I forgot about the whole car seat thing. With your bump + spd and my slipped disc & scaiatica I don't fink we'll manage changing the seats over! We can still leave together as you don't know the way. If the weather's bad we could do the Lollipop/ S&L instead, that way you get to sit down. Oh I forgot to ask yesterday, does your DH have one of our numbers to let us know of the new arrival?

Have a fab wk/nd every1!

2Cute · 24/02/2007 10:05

Hey BigD, hope everything is well your end...

Foxi - Always willing to try new places, is it be suitable for DS's age?

foxinsocks · 24/02/2007 10:11

Hi 2cute, it's foxinsocks here not your other foxy mate so you'll need to tell me the age of your kids.

2Cute · 24/02/2007 10:12

Oh

2Cute · 24/02/2007 10:13

He's 3 -1week

2Cute · 24/02/2007 10:14

just realised how confusing that looks, 3yrs (less 1 week)

2Cute · 24/02/2007 10:17

BTW foxi (the popping one not the one in socks) well if YOU were to buy a blue pushchair then I can't really be rude and ask for it to be returned so we'll just have to let DS keep it (where there's a will there's a way!)

foxinsocks · 24/02/2007 10:18

I saw quite a lot of toddlers there. Mine are 5 and 6 and it's quite hard to remember what it was like when they were toddlers (other than murder ).

I think a 3 year old would like it. Under 4s are free as far as I remember.

You know the water bit of the science museum in London? They have something similar to that inside - here's a link to it. I didn't see that giant keyboard that's on one of the pages so maybe that's gone now!

look out discovery centre

I can imagine older children getting more out of it but younger children still enjoying it iyswim.

foxabout2pop · 24/02/2007 10:57

hello fellow fox [waves]!!

Thanks for that info - that sounds like the kind of place I love for the kids (mine are 3.5, 6.5 and minus 1 week. My fave places are the Science Museum and the play area on Brighton beach - both of which have similar water toys areas.

Sounds very easy to get to if its J3 off the M3!!!

R U a west London Gal?

foxabout2pop · 24/02/2007 11:02

2cute - what do you mean does DH have your numbers to tell you when LO arrives - you lot will be there helping deliver LOL!!!

Actually I've written all the numbers down and me thinks DS will post on MN

Actually - about Hounslow Farm - just realised I would have to go there as soon as I pick up DD (pick her up just before 12 noon) then would have to leave at about 3pm to collect DS from school at 4pm.

I have a horrible feeling that may clash with both your DS and Paddle's DD's nap times? i.e. I could only go to the farm between 12-3pm

Unless I can arrange an after school play date for DS on Tuesday, which is a vague possibility....

Paddlechick666 · 24/02/2007 11:48

thanks for the good wishes - as ever!

tbh, i think i'm more stupid that saint but there you go.

i'm keen to get him down here because i do want to have a serious chat with him.

he's on his way, apparently he's not well so it'll be fun with 4 kids to look after!
