Had to create a new thread as we've already filled the old one!

2cute, I would love to meet up with you and your ds but I have my NCT coffee this afternoon and once ds has woken up from his nap, I have to go sort out my MIL's bday present.

Are you free next week at all?

suejonez · 25/02/2007 16:07

no - used to lead

I worked in advertising dah-ling - what do you expect?!

foxabout2pop · 25/02/2007 17:05

Yeah, me too with the "used" to lead. My life is so boring now that I get dressed up for the school run LOL!!

I was trying to think if there was anyone else I could name drop, but can't

Paddlechick666 · 25/02/2007 17:30

afternoon all

well, they've all gone and it's been a hectic weekend.

The Lookout was good but definately better for older children and better weather for the outdoor play area. There's a little bit for younger ones but not much.

The Coral swimming place over the road looks really good tho. We should plan a trip there I reckon. It's got a toddlers pool and a pirate ship in the middle!!

Took us about 30 mins to get there.

dh is promised to come over Tuesday evening and has said he'll leave work early to do dd's bath/bed.

As for name dropping, erm, I've met quite a few famous photographers but not the glam kind unless you count Henri Cartier Bresson and Inge Morath.....

I have nothing glam that I can think of

Oh and I take the bravery award for doing Snakes & Ladders on a wet Saturday afternoon!

xoxo · 25/02/2007 18:56

HI Foxy: still OK for tomorrow morning?

Hello to all - am popping in and out as every domestic appliance has died: phone, answer machine, washing machine and tumble dryer so that, along with room re-arranging has sapped all my energy away.

will be better to talk with next week

foxabout2pop · 25/02/2007 19:54

Oxo - OMG what have we arranged? - my PG brain can't remember anything further than my bump

I suggested 26th didn't I? What do you fancy (I can't walk BTW). I'll be on my own as DC's will be at school all day.

I am supposed to be going to QC at 10.30am for fetal monitoring but I don't think I'm going, as Monti is moving loads anyway (will put them off with a fiberoonie)

Paddle - if your DH doesn't turn up on Tuesday I will personally murder him with my own bare hands ! [evil grimace]

BTW NAKED DAVID TENNANT ALERT - 9PM tonight BBC1

foxinsocks · 25/02/2007 19:58

went to Coral Reef in one half term

it was so full of people that you couldn't swim in the pool (seriously!) - the slides are great though but I seem to remember there were height (or was it age?) restrictions on most of them (which would be a problem with little ones).

I imagine the only time to go to Coral Reef is when everyone else is at school otherwise it is just a nightmare. We left and vowed never to return!

MrsRecycle · 25/02/2007 20:51

Thanks for all your kind wishes - ds is finally out of my arms and in his cot asleep (though I don't know for how long).

I went to Coral Reef out of school holidays and it was lovely. Although the communal changing rooms took a bit of getting used to.

Foxie - I've still got that bag of 0-3 months clothes if you want them. I could try and pop over to yours one day this week, if you wanted.

Sue - you just have to do the "luurveey party" once in your life don't you? I did it once and it was bring a bottle in a penthouse flat and took lambrini - everyone else took champagne.

Talking of posh, dh is in St Tropez at the moment and has just remortgaged our house to buy a million pound boat - well in his dreams, no1 the boat was named after his 1st wife and no2 he gets sea-sick!!

pudding77 · 25/02/2007 21:30

Evening all

MrsR - glad ds is asleep, hope he stays that way until the morning! Lol at the lambrini btw!

Does anyone know the recipe for playdough & how to make it? Also, sfx if you're around, what are the paints you use for finger painting? Am planning an at-home day tomorrow for ds as he has had a hectic few days.

sfxmum · 25/02/2007 21:54

hello dh still chained in some dungeon working

puds recipe for home made playdough

1 cup plain flour
1 cup water
1/2 cup salt
2tsp cream of tartar
1 or 2 tbsp of oil

you just bung it all in a non stick pan over high heat, and stir. and hey presto after a couple of minutes a lovely smooth lump of dough. you can add food colouring careful when you knead it it in , can be squirty.
we usually divide into 3 and add diff. colours

i use Galt finger paints from all good retailers

have fun

off to watch Oscar nonsense

pudding77 · 25/02/2007 22:27

thanks sfx, for you that your dh is still working. Off to bed, too tired to watch the Oscars tonight, probably try to catch the highlights tomorrow!

foxabout2pop · 25/02/2007 22:38

MrsR - yeah that would be great

I'm out school run times and also need to collect DD around noon time but I am around apart from that. Would be nice to see you and your cute baby

foxabout2pop · 26/02/2007 06:54

Morning everyone

xoxo · 26/02/2007 07:53

morning: Foxy we had arranged to meet up but can happily call off as I will have 2 LOs in tow. perhaps you'd like to enjoy having a bit of quiet 'me' time?

I would like to drop off teh car seat though and I've found a couple of other 'new baby'[ bits if you want to have a look at them?

2Cute · 26/02/2007 09:04

morning all

Shattered this morring as DS has slept with us for the 7th time this week. He's having REALLY bad nightmares to the point that he's now too scared to go to sleep poor little mite! He's too young to understand why its happening (mind you I don't think many of us do really know what the significance of nightmares is). Anyways, he asked if dreams only happen in his room, I explained no that they can happen anywhwere even in mummy's room to which he replied "ok, lets go nanny house then" awwwww...

Is it normal for kids to have n'mares so young? Would appreciate advice as I could REALLY do with a good night's rest!

Paddle - glad to had a good wknd

Mellow - Sorry about the ILs, totally sympathise with you.

Foxi - about the farm 2morrow. You're right DS does nap around 1:30-2ish and farm closes at 4pm so looks like doing it in the avo is a no no for me . We could do the Lollipop instead that way Sue could bring DS along??

2Cute · 26/02/2007 09:06

glad DS is doing better MrsR

YAAAAY on baby puds 1st steps

pudding77 · 26/02/2007 09:21

thanks 2cute - taken 3 more steps over the weekend but crawling still the preferred way of getting around!!

I'd be up for Lollipop tomorrow as well if I'm invited! But it might be best to check what time they're open till as they close at 3pm every other day I think.

MrsRecycle · 26/02/2007 09:30

Thanks 2Cute - my dd2 started having nightterrors at 2 yrs and dh swore she was possessed (he still does). It is quite common. What I used to do was sing her a favourite nursery rhyme to calm her down and bring her out of her sleep.

Well ds was a total mare last night - up from 2am and I am shattered. So Foxie, when I pop over, I might leave ds behind along with the clothes . How about Thursday afternoon? I don't have to pick the girls up from school so don't need to rush back. Can you text me your postcode and house no and I'll look up your address on streetmap?

MrsRecycle · 26/02/2007 09:31

Yipee pudding - there'll be no stopping him now. He'll be running after the girls before you know it.

sfxmum · 26/02/2007 09:33

2cute this might help night terrors

hi everyone hope you all ok

Paddlechick666 · 26/02/2007 09:38

arg! back to work with a bump for me!

i'm drowning in projects that i really don't know enough about.

so why am I on here instead of knuckling down?!?!?!

where's the sand? i need to bury my head!

pudding77 · 26/02/2007 09:40

Sfx - is that cream of tartar as in what you put with fish??

MrsR - sorry you didn't have a better night, hope ds sleeps a bit today so you can catch up.

OP posts:
sfxmum · 26/02/2007 09:45

it's not the sauce but the powder which you can get in the supermarket next to the bicarb and baking powder

foxabout2pop · 26/02/2007 09:49

Oxo - I'd love you to come over for a cuppa if you fancy it? Am home all day and my only plans are to clean the kitchen cupboards -

no not nesting, but so my dad/stepmum don't think I'm a slut when they come over to hold the fort once I go in to labour

I'm here until 2.30pm - have texted you too

Paddlechick666 · 26/02/2007 09:51

pud, isn't that tartare sauce? the other stuff is a powder used in cooking, also known as potassium salt, apparently!

well done to little pud for taking his steps. dd did the same and actually reverted to crawling for a good month before venturing onto her pins for any serious efforts at walking. i think they do something new then sit on it ('scuse the pun) for a bit to process their new ability before trying again.

2cute, sorry to hear about DS's nightmares. my sds2 suffered the same and he was given a dreamcatcher which really helped. he was a bit older so more able to understand but your ds is a bright spark so i bet he would get the gist of it.

btw, deffo won't have skids next weekend but may well have Swedish friend with her 6 month old dd. they're trying to come over on 3rd for a last minute trip. would it be okay to bring them? i'm so cheeky!

mrsR, sorry to hear about ds. we decided to sleep all the kids in the same room Saturday night. dd woke about 9ish and skids decided to come to bed immediately after i'd settled her.

but of course, they weren't tired and started larking about. dd came wide awake and eventually we had to seperate skids into different bedrooms till they fell asleep.

dd then proceeded to be wide awake for 2 more hours! dh and i woke up at 1:30am with dd taking 3/4s of our bed!!!!

but we let dd go jump on the boys when she woke up at 7am so revenge was ours !

ComeOVeneer · 26/02/2007 09:59

Morning all. I am on here to avoid the housework . I had a lovely weekend with my sister and her lot but the house is a total tip having had 4 children running around it for 3 days and having 10 people over for lunch yesterday. I have that "I can't be bothered" Monday morning feeling.
