Had to create a new thread as we've already filled the old one!

2cute, I would love to meet up with you and your ds but I have my NCT coffee this afternoon and once ds has woken up from his nap, I have to go sort out my MIL's bday present.

Are you free next week at all?

OP posts:
sfxmum · 16/03/2007 09:32

morning all

hi foxie nice to see you, sorry about the bf troubles literally quite a pain, i do hope it clears up soon. i remember having blisters and was often in tears over those first few weeks.
do let us now if we can be of assistance.

you are all talking about telly i don't watch, just stick celebrity in the title and it's a turn off.

dd has a nasty cough and was poorly most of yesterday / night, seems perkier today, thankful she likes the drugs now.

take care all

foxcub · 16/03/2007 09:36

SFX - lend us yer boobs?

Ele - oh right - yeah I tried the probiotic yogurt with DS1 and it never worked - I always had to resort to drugs in the end...

sfxmum · 16/03/2007 09:41

do you require the services of a wet nurse miladythink there is a thread about it around

foxcub · 16/03/2007 09:56

sfx - would that make me posh?

nopudstilleaster · 16/03/2007 09:59

morning all, feeling v tired & spacey today! foxie, hope the bf problems clear up soon. If you need a hand with anything give me a call. Now we've got a parking permit sorted I do have use of the car again.

ComeOVeneer · 16/03/2007 10:03

Morning all. Still riddled with cold germs here. TBH it seems I have been ill since christmas, I'm usually really healthy but I think all the stress of the move got me really run down and I am catching every germ I pass. Need a holiday me thinks.

sfxmum · 16/03/2007 10:05

foxi could not be arsed reading the thread to see what the general consensus was

does pumping help? i really know nothing about mastitis apologies

but anyway am hyperventilating and have to go back to the article i was reading on another site.
apparently one of my favourite books ever by my favourite author is being filmed by blinking hollywood with Daniel 'bond' Graig.
beefcake and acting chops aside NO NO NO
it is a portuguese book about serious thing no hollywood please oh it pains me

will take a rest now, oh i feel like crying nowit is desecration

Eleusis · 16/03/2007 11:03

I think pumping the milk through is actually good because 1) it keeps the demand (and hence production) up and 2)It gets the bad bacteria out and the antibiotics can come in. So, basically good to keep things flowing. Although I've never had madtitis so this might be really painful I don't know.

suejonez · 16/03/2007 11:36

Foxie - sorry I was at Tesco - but going out to kew in about 30 mins if anyone wants to meet there.

Happy to watch Monti for you just let me know. I'm off Tues and Fri for a couple of weeks then Fridays only

nopudstilleaster · 16/03/2007 12:18

Thanks sue but having a bad mummy day today, poor ds is having to entertain himself.

mellow2 · 16/03/2007 12:37

Foxie,
I gave you the wrong link. . Here's the right link .

From what I gather, it's taking probiotics in a liquid form, far more concentrated than a yogurt. But I've never tried it myself so I can't vouch for it.

I had to say I expressed a lot, normally after a warm bath, when dd had a crap latch
and I found that her crap latch was still better at helping to reduce the problem compared to expressing.

If you have time, there's a really good free drop-in breastfeeding clinic run by Sally Inch at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. If you're interested, I could pass you the contact details. She sorted out dd's latch problem and thanks to her I'm still bfing today.

According to my lactation consultant, she's the best in the country.

2Cute · 16/03/2007 14:33

afternoon all

Sorry about the bf pain foxi Hope you recover soon.

How is everyone? What lovely weather!

2Cute · 16/03/2007 14:35

BTW - does (or has) anyone owned rabbits?? I'm planning on adding 2 rabbits to the 2cute family but want to be fully prepared so have been reading up on it before making the decision.

sfxmum · 16/03/2007 14:49

hello
gorgeous weather am so sorry it is going soon, took dd for a walk by the river to the playground, she then fell asleep at the shops.

2cute can't help with rabbits last time we kept animals i was a child and i was never into it.

somehow this TTC number2 is really getting to me, i am surprised by it actually,oh well keep trying

hope you all ok

MrsRecycle · 16/03/2007 14:53

Foxie sorry to hear you are in so much pain - I remember it well. I had thrush and didn't help with the doctor prescribing the wrong stuff. I was in tears so many many times and really thought about giving up. It does get better - hang on in there. If you want me to come over with ds to show how we feed (much better thanks to sfx & mellow) just send me a mail. The turning point for me (whilst having thrush) was talking to another bf mum and seeing her technique (and there really is a knack to it that can only be seen face to face).

Eleusis · 16/03/2007 14:54

Right, so at least we know someone is having lots of sex.

Never had rabbits. My boss' (soon to be x-boss) daughter has one, and he's been know to make threats about rabbit stew.

sfxmum · 16/03/2007 14:59

take it you mean the rabbitsstarting to think i am imagining things

actually that is another thing they do breed well

foxcub · 16/03/2007 16:03

mellow - that bf clinic sounds v interesting - do you still have the details

mrs recycle - that would be really useful actually. let me know when you could pop over for a cuppa if that's Ok. thanx 4 that

Ele - I love to pump too - not least 'cos I'm a control freak and pumping puts me back in control LOL! trouble is that my milk seized up so pumping didn't help.

The good news is that Monti managed to free the milk this arvo, form the infected boob and had a bloody could feed

just dashing to pick up DS1. He's gone to an after school club at the school that we've neither discussed nor have I signed up for. He just told Daddy at pick up time, "I'm supposed to be going to the after school club!" and poor Dh thought I'd agreed it!!

cheeky monkey

foxcub · 16/03/2007 16:04

Anyone been to the Baby Cafe at Richmond Hamlet on Mondays?

Paddlechick666 · 16/03/2007 16:09

foxie, west middx have a breasfeeding clinic y'know.

sorry - in a dash.

catch ya all soon, hope all well
;-)

nopudstilleaster · 16/03/2007 16:22

Haven't heard of the baby cafe, foxie. Where's Richmond Hamlet?

Following on from paddle's comment, West Mid breastfeeding clinic is good, they couldn't help me unfortunately but they tried their best & I know they helped a lot of my friends.

2cute, I had rabbits as a child and they are a lot of work imo, but they are cute!

Eleusis · 16/03/2007 16:29

Ah so DS is arranging his own after school activities. DD and COV's dd tried that on when we took them to Charlotte's Webb. We came out of the movie and DD turned to me to say she was eating dinner at COV's house. And COV looked very surprised, so we squashed their little plan. But, it did make us laugh.

So, hey, you can't blame a kid for being proactive.

suejonez · 16/03/2007 16:29

DS has been referred to paediastrician in Richmond Hamlet I think its the bit of Richmond near Lollipop club.

sfxmum · 16/03/2007 16:30

about the cafe in the Hamlet i have been i found it varied according to who was there on any given day but basically helpful i only went when dd was very small (under 3m)its boobs out with coffee and cake

Eleusis · 16/03/2007 16:31

Sue, is your DS okay? Why has he been referred to a pediatrician? Or is that just routine?
