I'm moving to St. Leonards in Exeter, and have a 13 month old baby.
Would love to hear from anyone in the area to find out about baby groups or meeting up for a coffee...

all the best,

x

hi essbee!

wagamamas has been a favourite for a long time, and I am soooooo relieved they now do puddings even if they are a bit wierdy-beardy cardomon pod and basil cheesecake. How can you have a meal without a pudding....?! That has been a long time coming for wagamamas if you ask me!

franca70 · 28/01/2007 21:05

hi!
I went before the summer with some friends, the queue was quite quick.

ipodthereforipoor · 28/01/2007 21:16

do you think new man would mind if i cancel first weekend away (bridget jones style minibreak!) to go out with some people off of the t'interweb to eat japanese noodles?!

HelloMama · 28/01/2007 21:18

That would be an interesting 'test' for new man wouldn't it, ipodthereforipoor? If he's worth his weight in gold, he won't mind if you drop everything for mumsnet...

Greensleeves · 28/01/2007 21:21

Have perused menu - looks right up my street

franca70 · 28/01/2007 21:35

lol ipod!

Greensleeves · 28/01/2007 21:35

ipod - just being him along, we'll "vet" him for you

ipodthereforipoor · 28/01/2007 21:47

might be a test too far - will have the weekend away without DS around and see how that goes! He has some qualities that mumsnet just cant meet...

fennel · 29/01/2007 09:49

Wagamams does a really very yummy ginger cheesecake. lack of coffee is a shock to my caffeine-addicted system but I can cope if there's wine instead

We could meet at that pub we met at last time, on South St? and go on to Wagamamas.

fennel · 29/01/2007 09:50

ipod, Wagamamas is very child friendly. My dds love it. they were given t-shirts when we took them, for good behaviour ( they must have been sickening for something at the time)- "I love to noodle doodle".

fennel · 29/01/2007 09:51

ooops, getting the wrong idea, I thought it was your ds you were thinking of bringing, Ipod, not your new DB

please ignore my last post......

Coco4 · 29/01/2007 11:02

HI everyone. does anyone know if wagamamas has highchairs, for future reference, i used to go to them all the time in london and love the food and the chilled atmosphere. Was pleased to see that theres one in Exeter

Morning! I have found my way to this Very Important Thread! (Thank you Greensleeves for the pointer, I saw it just now.)

And yes, I can make the 17th! Hurrah! Wagamama sounds great, I'm a fan too.

fennel · 29/01/2007 11:07

Coco, yes they have highchairs. And child-sizewd chopsticks, and things to colour in. All very child-oriented.

ivelostmyboobsboohoo · 29/01/2007 12:31

what pub did you meet at last time as i'm a newbie?! how will i recognise you all? shall we wear a carnation?!

fennel · 29/01/2007 12:42

It was the White Hart in South Street. I favour all wearing a smattering of snot and yoghurt on our lapels as identification. but a carnation might be more appealing.

Greensleeves · 29/01/2007 12:44

I can do snot and yoghurt

ivelostmyboobsboohoo · 29/01/2007 12:54

well i will be the one with the very messy hair- by choice not accident . and the shrunken boobies obviously!!!!

when you all met up last time did any of you recognise each other from exeter? that would be very very odd!

ivelostmyboobsboohoo · 29/01/2007 12:54

i've made myself sound very attractive havent i?!

franca70 · 29/01/2007 17:42

I'll be the one with the dodgy accent

fennel · 29/01/2007 20:02

There may be stiff competition for "the one with the messy hair".

Ivelostmy.. I think quite a few of us are newish to the area so we didn't find we knew each other already at the last meet-up. But if you hang out in St Thomas child and toddler circles you might possibly have met me or Greensleeves without knowing it.

So far we have:

Essbeee
Greensleeves
Pageturner
fennel
HelloMama
franca70
ivelostmyboobsboohoo
Baysmum

perhaps we should alert some of the others to this thread by CATing or similar.

Greensleeves · 29/01/2007 20:06

Oooh, I wonder whether we have met? [paranoid emoticon]

Coco4 · 29/01/2007 20:15

Oooh i really want to come and meet all of you. i might catch the train from Totnes, havnt got a clue where the pub is, any landmarks?

OP posts:
fennel · 29/01/2007 20:36

Coco4, it's quite a well-known pub, maybe 5 minutes walk from Central station.
