OK, shall we say next Wednesday from 2pm at the M&S cafe in the metrocentre for those who can make it? I'll have to leave at 3 ish to collect from school.

ladidadi, intrigued about this prancing round the room, I've just signed up for the same class I think, but aiming to start after the May half term when LO is 6 months. Feeling a bit doubtful now.

SmudgeMum · 22/03/2007 22:04

Great, that sounds like a good plan. i think I will try the bus to the Metro Centre - apparantly one goes from the top of the road. Have you ever tried it Lilbunnybabe? DS has been having a good scream this evening. I think I have fed on and off for the last 90 mins and he normally only feeds for about 15 mins. I hope that's it now so I can actually go to bed too. Have nice weekends everyone

kiminutter · 22/03/2007 22:13

Hi Smudgemum, the bus from Lemington Road Ends isn't a lo-liner bus usually, but I think there's one every 1/2 hour.
I'm working that day but hope you all have fun! Anyone want to meet for a cuppa next Thursday?
LaDiDaDi - I keep forgetting to ask how it went with the neighbours! Did you tell??!

SmudgeMum · 23/03/2007 16:34

Kiminutter, thanks for the bus info. I totally forget that I have to think about that kind of thing now. If I take him in the sling then I can get on any bus but then I'll have to carry him the whole afternoon and he's getting quite heavy (12lb 4oz at clinic yesterday!). But to be able to get on any bus would be easier. , decisions, decisions
I don't have anything planned for Thursday so would be quite up for meeting for a cuppa. (DH thinks I have an easy life full of tea and cakes - how right he is!!) Were you thinking in Newcastle? What time?

lilbunnybabe · 23/03/2007 22:12

Hiya gals!

Smudgemum: Have tried getting the bus twice, but always have someone with me,having the double buggy doesnt make it easy. I once waited for the No. 7 to go to the Metrocentre for over 30mins, then when it arrived, it wasn't a lo-liner (I think hey generally arent lo-liners), walked back home and didnt bother going that day, was gutted.
I prefer to wait around until OH or Dad is off or has finished work and then they can take me.
Not sure what OH is working next week as he does one week of nights and one of days, its crazy!!!! Will let you all know!
We're pretty busy this week starting packing for the big move in 1&1/2wks, cant wait, although I've been in this house since I was a baby....but it just aint practical anymore.
Am really excited today, as I've confirmed the christening and have booked the venue for afterwards, picked up the girls' christening dresses last week too, and they're absolutely gorgeous!!!!!
Anyway, enough of my babbling, I'm so tired, been sofabed shopping today to Ikea & Ilva, so am shattered!!!!

Speak to you all soon!

tinder · 24/03/2007 07:42

Smudgemum .... you said Dominic is just over 12lbs and he is getting too heavy for your sling. What kind do you have? You might want to change to a new one as we are still carrying Brynn at 22lbs and plan to until she is walking all the time. I can email you a load of inf if you want or if you wanted to try some new slings we have a group where you can try new slings and get advice on them that meets once a month in Jesmond (not too far from Jesmond Metro) if you wanted to come along?

lauzie · 24/03/2007 21:09

Hi all,
I would've loved to join you next week but I'm working Wed and we have tumble tots on a thurs so won't be able to make it - next time hopefully ! Tinder- could you possibly send me some ifo on the sling please? ds is too big now I think but maybe for the next one?!

lauzie · 24/03/2007 21:24

Oh meant to say debenhams cafe is fab, just dicovered it on Friday (2nd floor next to lifts) its got a play area with 'iccle' seats with toys etc. a baby food prep area where you can heat up etc. yourself. it sells baby food/organix snacks has high chairs aplenty. it was really reasonable too and the decaf coffee was even in an individual cafetiere! I don't work for them honest! its just really nice to see that someone has got us parents in mind!

lilbunnybabe · 24/03/2007 22:54

Hiya gals! My OH is off work, so I'm trying to persuade him to give me a lift.......he can good shopping for stuff for the new house, hahahaha!!! Will let you all know for definite on Tuesday, but looking forward to it!

LaDiDaDi · 24/03/2007 23:04

Kiminutter, I haven't told the neighbours , but I have been keeping an eye out and I haven't seen him climbing on the roof again!

Katwith3kittens, we did have to dance in a circle around the room holding our lo's singing "and we all skip along, cock a doodle doodle doo" or something like that. It was funny though, perhaps I'm just a bit too self-conscious .

podywody · 25/03/2007 20:47

Hi guys, we've been to the in-laws for the weekend, had a lovely time. So its Wednesday at 2.30pm in the metro centre. Shall we go with Lauzie suggestion of Debenhams cafe ???? it sounds really nice. Lillibunnybabe I can pick you up if you like ? so see you all wed then.

OP posts:
SmudgeMum · 25/03/2007 22:13

Hi all. We've been down to Nottingham for the w-e to show off DS to all our friends there. He was really good, smiled lots and slept well so they think he's fab! Looking forward to seeing you on Wed - Debenhams sounds good. I think I will come on the bus and will use the sling. DS isn't really too heavy for it really Tinder, i was thinking more that carrying anything (or anyone!) for the whole afternoon is going to get heavy and he's certainly plumping up well.
Ladidadi, I've just signed up for Singing Babies and I think we sang the same song! Still DS was transfixed for the whole hour of the taster session so I can put up with skipping round the room!
Lilbunny - where is the new house? Happy packing. We only moved into this house just before Christmas and we've still got plenty of boxes that we haven't unpacked. It probably won't happen now until we move again. Podywody, I'm looking forward to hearing how the swimming is going.

kiminutter · 25/03/2007 22:33

Hi Smudgemum, if you (and anyone else) want to meet for a cuppa on Thursday I shall be in the cafe, top floor Monument Mall, at around 10 o'clock! Glad to hear you had a lovely weekend.
Have a lovely time on Wednesday everyone, have a slice of chocolate cake for me!

SmudgeMum · 26/03/2007 12:54

That sounds good Kiminutter - I've never been in the top floor of the Monument Mall (not even sure which one that is but I'm sure I'll find it)
It's a beautiful day outside so I'm going to sit outside with my washing and a book and a cup of tea - unless Dominic decides to scupper my plans by waking up!

Podywody I think we are meeting from 2pm on Wed because Katwith3kittens has older ones to pick up from school so will have to leave earlier. I think Tinder said that she would come about 2.30 after LO nap. Looking forward to seeing whoever can make it.

kiminutter · 26/03/2007 23:05

Well, I hope everyone enjoyed the sunshine today.
SmudgeMum, Monument Mall is on the left hand side when you walk down Blackett Street towards the Monument. See you there!
I've had a completely mad week, and am looking forward to an amazing weekend! Link here . I'm excited but nervous at the same time! Will let you know how it goes.

lilbunnybabe · 26/03/2007 23:06

Hi gals!

Sorry, but I can't make it on Wed now, I have a hair appointment, its the only time I can get it before we move, cos not sure when the next time I'll be able to get back over here to get it done again will be......I used the same hairdressers for ages, even when I lived down in Canterbury, used to come up to get my hair done.
So I'll definately be looking out for the next time you're meeting up, cos I am gutted that I can't make it, was really looking forward to it.

Thanks for the offer of the lift Podywody, hope to see you and your gorgeous DS soon! Hope you're all ok!

Smudgemum: the new house is in Swalwell, just 15mins walk from Metrocentre, Asda etc.......so excited!!! Its a 2yr old, 3 storey townhouse, and we've got such a good deal on it! Close to my Grandad too, who is getting old now, so he'll be able to see a lot more of the girls. Just wish the move was over with, cos I know how hectic it's gonna be!

tinder · 27/03/2007 20:11

So where and when was it tomorrow? I seem to remember 2pm but is it M&S or Debenhams as Debanhams sounds nice and a change as we usually go to M&S.
La

podywody · 27/03/2007 21:30

Tinder its Debenhams at 2pm then, see you all there.

tinder · 27/03/2007 22:08

kiminutter · 27/03/2007 22:33

Have a lovely time tomorrow everyone.
Really good news, here ! My baby nephew is home at last!

lauzie · 27/03/2007 23:06

Looks like I may be able to make it after all! (thats if you'll have me!)
How do you recognise each other? is it a case of a red carnation and the ft?

Laura x

lauzie · 27/03/2007 23:09

Fab news kimi! OMG I can't even imagine how small he must have been! Sounds like you've got an eventful weekend ahead too! best of luck hun xx

katwith3kittens · 28/03/2007 10:08

Lauzie, we'll either be typing into our laptops or reading copies of the unmentionable book

SmudgeMum · 28/03/2007 11:52

Just managed to get DS to sleep (he thinks he's all grown up now and sleep is for wimps!!)
Great that you can make it Lauzie but does that mean that the hair appointment is off? We've managed to find each other so far. I think we tend to look at everyone with babies in a hopeful manner and if the other person does the same then it sort of works. Saying that, we don't know if we've ever missed people but noone has said. I guess you'll be quite easy to spot because there won't be that many twins! I'm the one with a very big looking 7 week old and the big bags under my eyes!!

SmudgeMum · 28/03/2007 11:53

Meant to say Kiminutter that's great news about your nephew. I'll look forward to hearing about him tomorrow.
