Hope to make it tomorrow. thanks for checking out the highchair situation. Amazed at you being ready by 9.30 Smudgemum, that's a real achievement, it's usually 10 before we can leave the house.

tinder · 22/02/2007 11:07

This is larissa's husband posting, just to say that she's in the cafe in the garden and she can't find anyone.

tinder · 22/02/2007 14:28

S'ok....everyone arrived! It was nice to meet you all.
This links I was on about ... You can buy Babylegs at - www.bitsforbairns.co.uk/babylegs.htm
and Brynns passport photo ... quick.holdthatpic.com/images/59547.jpg
(you might have to copy and paste those links.)
And if any of you are interested in the baby carrier I was wearing today it is www.babyhawk.com .. you can have them made in loads of different styles, or if you search on Google there are a few places in the UK that sell them. But if you want to see the myriad of different non Baby Bjorn ones out there then www.thebabywearer.com is the place to go.
Anyway.. hope to see you again soon.

Hi! I'm 24 and a twin mummy from Newcastle, my gorgeous girls are nearly 8mths now, and I have to say I'm loving every minute!!!! Have heard about 'mumsnet' loads, but never actually got round to joining, as I'm usually on the TAMBA messageboard.

Anyway, so far I've not really got a chance to get out to meet other mums, dont drive and it's a nightmare getting a bus anywhere with a double pram! Only time I really get out is with my OH or parents, but only when they're not at work or busy.Otherwise I take the girls out for an hours walk everyday, but that gets a bit boring after a while! Not planning on going back to work for a while as it's gonna cost more for childcare than I'd be earning, a shame as I enjoyed my job, but I have to say I love being a Mummy so much more!!!!!

Hi Lilbunnybabe. Where abouts in Newcastle are you? Perhaps we can arrange a meetup somewhere near you that you can walk to. I have to say that I think at the next meetup I might bring DS in a sling because the pushchair situation in cafes is a bit of a nightmare even with a single one!
Lovely to meet everyone and LO (or quite big ones Kiminutter!) Katwith3kittens, a few of us went for the carrot cake and I agree it was really lovely. Hope you manage to find a swimsuit today Podywody.

lilbunnybabe · 23/02/2007 11:29

Smudgemum: We live in West Denton at the mo, but have had an offer accepted on a house in Brunswick, so hoping to move there around Easter time! Fingers crossed!

Hi Podywody!!!!! I'm guessing this is you anyway, hahaha, we're off to the Metrocentre in about 30mins, so if you go, might see you there. Gonna try feeding the girls solids in public for the first time, so it should be fun!

Anyway gals, I'm off to get the girls ready, maybe speak to you tonight!

kiminutter · 23/02/2007 17:32

Hi everyone, the meet up was great. All your babies are gorgeous!
Lilbunnybabe, hello to you too - hope you survived the Metrocentre!

lilbunnybabe · 23/02/2007 20:53

Hi Kiminutter, I was so surprised today, well not too surprised as our girls are really great, but they loved every bit of food, even from Daddy, drank most of their milk too, which depending on how much they eat, they usually only have a bit. Then.........as soon as we left the food court, they both went off to sleep, for around 2hrs!!!!! Amazing, usually a quick 1/2hr in the afternoon and theyre up to play again, but 2hrs!!! Think I'm gonna take them a bit more often, hahaha!

dingdongjustforyoufg · 23/02/2007 21:23

hello lilbunnybabe, have just seen you join the multiples thread...I'm usually on there but have been away this week, I live near Durham so am reasonably nearby, I have twin girls who were 3 in december so could meet up & scare you with tales of what's to come

lilbunnybabe · 23/02/2007 21:41

dingdongjustforyoufg - sounds great........at the mo we're in the middle of house buying & selling, hoping to move around Easter time to Brunswick, not far from Newcastle airport.....but would definately love to see how things could be for me in the future! Not sure if there are any more twin mummies in Newcastle, any ideas? Sandra (multiple midwife at RVI) has told me there are a few in the area I'm going to, but none members of messageboards etc. and not sure if you saw my message on the other thread, but I dont drive, so getting around can be a bit of a nightmare if my OH is working and my Dad.

dingdongjustforyoufg · 23/02/2007 21:45

I'm sure we could sort something out - I drive and work Mon-weds so we could arrange something for a thurs or fri after Easter? don't envy you moving with twins in tow - we moved 2 wks before ours arrived

lilbunnybabe · 23/02/2007 22:36

Luckily we've got plenty of support, we live with my parents at the mo, in their 3 bed house, but 4 big 'uns & 2 babes just dont go!!!!!We've managed for 8mths but now its manic, so Mam & Dad have sold theirs so that we can get a bigger place together. The place we're hoping to get is perfect, like a 3 bed house, then you walk out the other side of the kitchen and theres another sitting room with its own stairs to bedroom and ensuite, its so perfect, and our offer has been accepted at £30k less than the original asking price!!!! Fab huh?!!! Planning to stay there a few years, sell up then split profits to get 2 separate houses! Fingers crossed it all works out! But getting back to the main question, got soooooo many people offered to look after the girls whilst we move!

lauzie · 25/02/2007 10:12

Hi Everyone ,
Just wondering if I can join you all?
I am 23 married with 1ds (13month)I live in Chopwell. I don't know a lot of other parents so it would be nice to share the milestones with other people in the same boat.

kiminutter · 25/02/2007 10:28

Hi everyone, hope you're all having a good weekend.
Good luck with the house move lilbunnybabe. I live near you so if you're bored gimme a shout!
And a big hello to lauzie, too.

lilbunnybabe · 25/02/2007 23:05

kiminutter: Thanks........we have our fingers crossed that its all gonna go well..........and thanks again, will keep that in mind!

lauzie: Welcome to the thread!

SmudgeMum · 26/02/2007 11:17

Hi everyone and welcome lauzie. Lilbunnybabe glad your metrocentre trip went well. We're in South West Denton (right at the top by the A69). Are there any nice parks round here? Perhaps DS and I could meet you in a park/for a walk some time because I don't know the area at all. Fingers crossed things go through with the house for you because it sounds great.

lilbunnybabe · 26/02/2007 21:03

Hi Smudgemum.........parks in Denton, nope not that I know of, not nice ones anyway, sorry. Course I could show you round, what there is to show anyway. I've never really put all of my hopes into anything until this house came along, it is totally perfect!!!

lauzie · 26/02/2007 23:09

Hi again,

Lilbunnybabe and smudgemum, why don't you try Newburn riverside? Its a nice walk along there- I'm originally from that area and used to walk there a lot!
Lilbunnybabe- we're in a really similar position, Dh and I have house on Market, so do mum and dad. When they sell we are all going to be in the same house for a while.
thanks for the welcomes!

tinder · 28/02/2007 08:19

I think Brynn and I are going to be at Gosforth swimming pool this morning for the babies and toddlers swimming lesson. See anyone there if they are going.

SmudgeMum · 28/02/2007 19:09

Hi Lauzie, thanks for the suggestion. I don't know how far away that is for you Lilbunnybabe. Let me know if you are up for it! Had a better night with DS last night and feeding seems to have calmed down a bit so feeling a bit more human today. Walked one a half miles to a breast feeding support group only to find that it has been moved to a Tuesday, grrrrr. They only sent me the information last week but it seems that it has only just been changed. At least it was a nice day and DS slept the whole time. Hope swimming was good Tinder. Not sure if there is any swimming nearer to me than Gosforth. If not, then I might see you there in a few weeks. Did you find a swimming costume yet Podywody?
Got baby clinic tomorrow to see how much weight my baby elephant has put on. Surely it can't be as much as from week 1 to week 2 (from 8lb 7 to 9lb 1)

lilbunnybabe · 28/02/2007 22:41

Lauzie: thanks for the suggestion of Newburn! Re: the house situation, we got a call yesterday from the e.agents who were selling the house we were buying, to say the vendors have withdrawn the property.........absolutely gutted, but have about 8 other places to look at, so hopefully we'll find something even better!

Smudgemum: Bless ya.......sounds like you've had a busy day or two........Newburn is quite far for me to walk to, to go for a walk, ok when OH is off tho.....going to OH's parents in M'bro on friday for weekend, so will be in touch again soon.

We took our babes swimming on Saturday with Podywody, her OH and gorgeous little boy, went to Whitley Bay Leisure Pool, it was fun, must take a picnic next time, when the weather is better, go along beach.......baby changing rooms in there are huge too, so it was great with the twins!

tinder · 01/03/2007 16:49

What's Whitley Bay Leisure Pool nice then? Whats the water temp like for little babies. We had a great time at Gosforth Pool. We hadn't been for awhile and Brynn has always enjoyed it, but this time she went nuts spalshing everywhere and having a whale of a time!
La

LaDiDaDi · 02/03/2007 16:53

Hello, I've not been on for a while as I've been busy at work and stuff.

Great to hear that everyone is well, lots of babies splashing about!

What a shame about the bf support group for you Smudgemum. on your behalf. Hope your ds is still doing well.

I'm going to a wedding tomorrow but I'm a bit worried that I'm going to freeze to death as I'm wearing a skirt and a strapless top with only a shawl/pashmina thing for warmth. I might have to make some sort of emergency dash to the shops in the morning for a black jacket or smart cardigain.

lilbunnybabe · 05/03/2007 14:50

Tinder: Whitley bay pool is great, much better than council run pools, you do have a little extra to pay, and kids under 5 are 90p, but its worth it, better changing facilities, wave machine in the big pool, huge slide and diving pool......fun for all the family..........you'd think I work for them huh?! Hahaha, bu it was good fun, and in the summer it'll be lovely to go for a picnic on or near the beach afterwards.

Hope you're all well, our house in Brunswick fell through, but have just put an offer on another.
