Morning all. Last night the best yet, lots of sleep all round. Kimi I've just posted on your other thread to suggest that we arrange a meet up soon and then we can talk about mile for Maud too. What do you reckon? Does anyone want to do anything next week - perhaps Thur or Fri in Newcastle for coffee - 11am? Or the week after on Tue? I'm just plucking days out of the air because I don't really have anything planned as yet. I'm still aching quite a lot if I stand for a long time so it would be good for me if we meet not too far from Eldon (where my bus stop is). Fibernie I hope the work is settling down and you are getting used to cramming everything into your days. It takes us our whole time to just leave the house and remember everything at the mo!

Thursday is my day off so that sounds good. Podywody, thank you for your offer of help, it would be greatly appreciated. Anyone interested in doing the Mile for Maude please add your name to the list on the other thread, thanks!

Monkeytrousers · 15/02/2007 11:29

Can you post a link to the thread please?

kiminutter · 15/02/2007 11:31

Newcastle Mile for Maude thread I hope this link works!

LaDiDaDi · 15/02/2007 19:59

I think that I can come on Thursday too. Let me know where and I will hopefully be able to make it.

I will be interested in doing A Mile for Maude too if I'm not at work on the day.

SmudgeMum · 16/02/2007 11:07

ok all. I've just realised that it is half-term next week. Does that mean the whole world will be in town? It looks like there'll be quite afew of us so need to pick somewhere quite big for buggies etc. Will anyone have older ones with them? We tried John Lewis last time which was really nice but changing and toilets not by brasserie. DH and I are venturing into town today so I'll have a look round and get back to you with a venue. Podywody about DS waking in the night. It must be hard when you've got used to having sleep! Hope you manage to get something sorted to fill the little mite up! I'm waiting for the MW now to come and weigh DS. He was back to his birth weight after 6 days so now we're at day 11 I guess he'll have put a fair bit on!

SmudgeMum · 16/02/2007 18:12

Had a look in Eldon today and reckon that our best bet might be to meet at Cafe in the Garden (the cafe in the middle of Eldon Gardens) It's quite big, there are toilets off to one side and there is baby changing via a lift. I think the toilets and baby changing are closer than those to the John Lewis cafe but not sure. I just thought that if we have lots of buggies, we're not so restricted for space because we can probably take some babies out and leave the buggies round the outside so they're not in the way.
What do you reckon?

kiminutter · 16/02/2007 18:29

Sounds good to me! I will either have DD with me or DS2, but they are easily bribed with milkshake and chocolate cake! DD wants to help with the walk, she already has some sponsors.

podywody · 16/02/2007 21:39

yes sounds good to me, Smudgemum what weight was ds ? hv came today to help with weaning and weighed ds 14lb7 he had put on 5oz since monday so no wonder i am feeling wrecked feeding him constantly

LaDiDaDi · 16/02/2007 23:17

Sounds fine with we. Really hope I can come and meet your ds .

SmudgeMum · 17/02/2007 08:35

Morning all, sounds good for Thursday then. Please bear with me if I'm already on my 3rd cup of tea by the time you arrive or don't arrive til 11.30. Not quite worked out timings yet and anything could happen! I'm sure you remember how long it takes to actually leave the house!!Podywody, DS was 9lb 1oz yesterday, so put on 10oz in 5 days. The midwife was really pleased though and said that was great. I did wonder if she'd tell me he was a troffer and not to feed him so much. She reassured me by saying you can't overfeed a BF baby (after I was saying, he's not feeding all the time.......) I dread to think what will happen when he has a growth spurt. I'm glad the HV was reassuring to you. Did she come up with helpful advice re weaning?
Kiminutter, looking forward to meeting you and whoever you bring. Totally on their wavelength re the bribery. My DH is like that too!

Swazan · 20/02/2007 16:56

Hi, I was hoping to come and meet you on Thursday but unfortunately I can't. Its half term and my older two are going away on an adventure weekend on Friday so will be trying to pack and get them ready for that. Let me know if anything is arranged for mile for Maude please. Thanks

kiminutter · 20/02/2007 20:38

Hi Swazan, sorry you can't make it. I now have a contact email for the mile for maude, its [email protected] so please contact me and I will forward the info! Maybe we could arrange a meet some other time? I'm just up the road from you and our kids are similar ages! I hope they have a wonderful weekend.
Looking forward to meeting all mums and babies! (so is DD!).

LaDiDaDi · 20/02/2007 20:39

Does anyone know if there are highchairs at the cafe?

kiminutter · 20/02/2007 20:42

Not sure about high chairs, but I pass through there on my way to work so I'll investigate tomorrow!

LaDiDaDi · 20/02/2007 21:18

Thanks just if I can make it then I will need to give dd her lunch there.

tinder · 21/02/2007 09:39

I should be able to make it thanks. Brynn and I have had a cold these last few days but she is also teething and I might just be sypathetically snotty! But today we both seem to be feeling better. She usually has anp around that time so I will have to get her up late on Thursday to last her through. I should be there.. looking forward to it.
Oh.. and I will be the one with my baby in a baby carrier rather than a pushchair... so keep an eye out for me!!

SmudgeMum · 21/02/2007 11:19

Hi there, Sounds like there might be a few of us which will be lovely. Sorry Ladidadi didn't think to look for high chairs but my guess is that there will be some (quite a big place). Hopefully kiminutter will be able to find out for you. I still have a lot to learn about things to look out for when going out (access, toilets, changing, space etc etc) We were up and sorted by 9.30 today with me having showered and DS having had a bath. I was impressed with myself. Obviously tomorrow will be shocking and it will take us hours to get going See some of you tomorrow and others hopefully in the not too distant future.

katwith3kittens · 21/02/2007 12:34

I wont be able to make it on Thursday, but I'll just add that the garden is a nice cafe (I'm sure I saw highchairs there too) Carrot cake is excellent .. Enjoy !

kiminutter · 21/02/2007 17:20

Yes, they have high chairs.

fibernie · 21/02/2007 19:20

Hi all

Won't make tomorrow, have to take car to garage!
Have fun..
