Hello! I have just found this thread. I live In Durham and have one dd (19 months) and another on the way, due Christmas time. It would be great to meet up with some local mums. Where do you usually meet?

PeckaRolloverAgain · 23/05/2007 22:04

skidaddle hiya - your on my antenatal thread and didnt realise you were so close!

Im in newcastle

skidaddle · 23/05/2007 22:09

Hi pecka !!! what a small world it is! have you been to any of these meet ups - how do they work?

PeckaRolloverAgain · 23/05/2007 22:12

I havent for ages, went to one a couple of years ago but not recently

skidaddle · 23/05/2007 22:15

I know, it does seem a bit scary... will see if I can muster up the courage though

PeckaRolloverAgain · 23/05/2007 22:22

I'll stand behind you and consider joining in........maybe

kiminutter · 23/05/2007 22:22

Hello! This thread is busy tonight!
Sorry I can't meet up this week, too much on at work
Skidaddle, we usually just post here to ask if anyone is free on a certain day and take it from there. I'm trying to organise a picnic in the near future as it rained on our 'Mile for Maude' - is everyone able to get to Newburn Riverside Park? Let's pick a nice sunny day when everyone can make it! Any ideas?
PS We're not that scary really! Hope you can both make the picnic, Pecka and Skidaddle!

podywody · 23/05/2007 23:53

Hi and welcome skipdiddle & Pecka

Smudgemum 2pm it is then in M&S I know its short notice but if anyone else is out and about it would be nice to see you.

Evening all. Hi to Skidaddle and Pecka - that's 3 babies in waiting from this thread now. I'm because my DS is sooo big now at 15 weeks!!
Glad you're alright Kiminutter, make sure you don't work too hard!! I reckon you need to just pick a date (but pref. not before the end of June as I'm away until the 28th ) Are Sat or Sun better for people in general? Makes no diff to us.
Lilbunny glad the girls are getting better and hope you are too. Having 2 LOs to run after when you're not feeling great must be hard.
Podywody, nice to see you today and sorry about the screaming. Also thanks for the nappy! DS slept for about an hour and then I put some bongela on his gums. By the time I got home he was all smiles and giggles and had a huuuuge feed. I hope his gums don't hurt him for too long because it's not much fun for me, never mind for him

Podywody and I talked about meeting up not next week but the week after. Who's up for it and does anyone want to suggest a day/venue? I know that various people work p/t and have different activities on so I doubt we'll get something to suit everyone. How about a Mon or Wed for a change?

podywody · 29/05/2007 12:28

smudgemum how did ds like the toy/teething ring ? I hope everyone had a nice bank holiday weekend, lillybunny it was lovely seem you all yesterday.

lilbunnybabe · 29/05/2007 23:42

Hi all!

Finally all seems to be back to normal in our house again.......the girls are fine now, and I'm fine except a strange chest pain. Will see how it is tommorrow and if its still there, I'll go to the Dr's.

Hope you are all ok and had a nice BH weekend........shame the weather was bad!

Podywody: thanks again for dinner on Monday, it was gorgeous........it was great to see our 3 LO's playing together. Ella has been rolling round wuite a bit today, rather than her being completely static, while Beth is all over the shop. I've been out looking for an outfit for the Christening, but still can't find anything yet.......was gonna treat myself to something new for the party on Friday, but yet again I couldn't find anything.........think I might walk to Metrocentre tommorrow for a quick look round with the girls.

Have just ordered the girls one of those 'Doidy' cups each, looking forward to receiving them, they look really funky! Have any of you used them for your LO's? I've heard lots of great things about them, so thought I'd give them a try.

Well, I've bottles to make up, then I'm off to bed. Hope to speak to you all soon!

Em x

SmudgeMum · 05/06/2007 16:23

Evening. Well we're on count down til we go away but I need about 3 weeks to recover from lack of sleep. I've got really bad hayfever so am waking every hour. DS has decided that he is ravenous and can't possibly go longer than 3 hours between feeds both day and night! Saying that, he does go straight back to sleep and does lovely smiles in the morning!
Podywody, he does like the teething thing but seems to chew most on the label and the snorkel rather than the rubber bits!
Lilbunny, glad that you are feeling more sorted now. Your house sounds really fab.
Kiminutter - any thoughts for a date for a picnic? I can't believe how lovely the weather was last weekend. If we could order weather just like that, it would be great.
Right, best get packing - what am I likely to forget?

kiminutter · 05/06/2007 21:50

SmudgeMum, have a lovely holiday! How about Saturday 30th June for the picnic? I know I'm not working that weekend.

podywody · 06/06/2007 15:47

Smudgemum, its sounds like a "growth spirt" that ds is having mine when through the same thing at about the same age, good luck with the packing and have a great holiday. We are not around on the 30th as we are going to ireland for a week, but the saturday after that sound fine.

Aah, I'll be at the Grand Prix the following weekend (can't wait!). What about July 14th?

tinder · 08/06/2007 08:44

Anyone going to the green festival on Saturday?
And also for those of you who asked about slings (sorry I never got back to you) and baby carries an age ago there will be a baby wearing stand in one of the tents (I think it will be in a tent)with a NINO representative too (Nine in nine out) who will be able to answer all of your questions re baby wearing and might have some you can try.

Katwith3kitten good to see you on friday are you going next week ?

OP posts:
katwith3kittens · 12/06/2007 14:17

Yes, I'm planning on going again on Friday, if I can find the piece of paper with the directions she gave us !

What a change in the weather - its sports day on thursday, what are the chances that it will be cancelled ?

Hope everyone is OK and LO's are full of beans.

katwith3kittens · 24/06/2007 22:42

podywody · 25/06/2007 14:16

Whats going on with the weather ???? I am going on hols to Ireland tomorrow morning and not back till sat but if anyone interested in meeting up the following week it would be good to catch up again. most days are fine for me in the afternoons. Lets hope we can see some old faces again.

tinder · 25/06/2007 17:50

I'm up for a meet up. Thurs of fri this week and then I am around and then off the end of week and weekend around the 7th of July.
Hating the weather.
Brynn is crawling full pelt now so wherever we meet it owuld be good if it were child friendly. I went to Adventurelands last week and Brynn had a great time and they have a coffee are and food etc. But only good for children who are little daredevils!

Hi all!

We had the girls christening/ 1st birthday yesterday.........it was soooooo fantastic! Everyone enjoyed themselves and the girls were so well behaved! Thanks Podywody for all your help again! The girls are so lucky, presents are gorgeous and loads of money......more than me!

kiminutter · 04/07/2007 21:11

Hey, where is everyone?!! Hope you are all ok! I'm off to the Grand Prix tomorrow with DS1, to camp in a muddy field with no electricity for four days, so will tell you all about it when I get back on Monday! Have a lovely weekend.

SmudgeMum · 08/07/2007 08:45

Hi girlies. Well we are back!! We had a fantastic time and even better, we stayed an extra week as DH had an ear infection so couldn't fly! I can't believe DS is now 5 months old and can very proudly roll over. He was an absolute star on the planes and in the heat (average 35degrees!). He loved the sea so much, I'm definitely going to have to make sure we go swimming lots. Would love to meet up with people for a coffee. Podywody and Tinder, I can't believe your LO are crawling! Belated birthday wishes for your two Lilbunnybabe. Kiminutter how was the Grandprix? I hope you didn't get too wet.

Tinder where is adventureland? How about meeting there if convenient for people? What about Wed or Thurs?

lauzie · 10/07/2007 21:06

Hi everyone,

Just a quicky to let you all know I'm pregnant again! due around end feb/march!

Would love to meet up but work is manic at the mo and we're in the middle of buying a 400year old completely derelict farmhouse, so as you can imagine its a tad crazy!

hope everyone is ok, hope to see you soon
