Didn't mean to imply that I'm too busy to make the effort by the way - just re-read my post and it seemed a bit snotty! Just that if I don't meet up for a while its nothing personal!!!!

tinder · 12/05/2007 18:40

Not going to be able to make it tomorrow... sorry.

SmudgeMum · 12/05/2007 21:30

Hi Alice - Congratulations on the babe in progress! How are you doing? Is it worse with another one to run around after or does it mean you haven't got time to think about being pregnant? Hope you can make a meet up at some point.
Tinder - we missed you today. Hope everything ok your end. Has DD started the nursery now? How's she doing?

kiminutter · 12/05/2007 21:45

Hello anita24 and alicet!
Was lovely to see everyone at the walk today, even though we were drenched! I've just posted on the other thread about a possible picnic meet-up, any dates in mind anyone? Maybe Newburn Riverside Park? I know SmudgeMum and Fibernie mentioned it today, it possibly would be better there than the Dene as there is shelter at The Keelman in case of rain

fibernie · 12/05/2007 22:09

Nice idea... I'm up for a glass of that pink champagne!

alicet · 13/05/2007 06:59

Hi all, thanks for making me feel welcome!

Smudgemum, yes its definately harder being pregnant with a toddler to run round after! None of the leisurely lie ins all weekend (hence the message at this ridiculously early hour!) to recover that I enjoyed last time plus ds doesn't understand when I feel shattered and sick and just want to chill! Oh well, can't complain - I am very excited about the new baby!

I have a mate who has been to Newburn park and said it's fantastic. Not checked it out myself yet but definately on my list of places to go...

Hope you all enjoy what is left of your weekend...

podywody · 13/05/2007 20:39

Hi all , and welcome to you new joiners, it was such a pity about the rain yesterday we went back to our house and ate the picnic in our front room..on plastic plates !!! it was really nice meeting you all again and fibernie you dd is really cute. we will definately have to meet up again soon. we are going home to ireland next weekend as my little niece is making her First Holy Communion so really looking forward to seeing all my family again they will see a big change in ds. Smudgemum when do you go in hols ?

OP posts:
fibernie · 14/05/2007 07:17

Ditto that...
I emailed the pic to kiminutter - it's quite a nice group one, only one person not looking at the camera. (If I remember correctly I think that one person might be your DS's granny podywody!)
We had a quiet weekend after the walk, a very nice saunter round Saltwell park yesterday. Today we've got friends for lunch, then off to 7stories in the pm.
Bring on some sunshine soon! Have a good week everyone - new joiners and old members.

SmudgeMum · 14/05/2007 18:36

Hi all. Did you find something to wear yet Podywody? We go on the 8th June - just booked the final part of the tickets today. I'm going to order some insect stuff for Dom from a website tonight and then I think we're nearly sorted.
Anyone going to be in newcastle on Thursday late morning and fancy meeting up?

lilbunnybabe · 14/05/2007 22:33

Hi all! And welcome to all you newbies! I'm quite new here too, but its great to be able to chat with other Mums from this area!

We've had a great couple of days, after the walk on Saturday we too the girls to Metrocentre to stock up on baby essentials...........people look at us when we're walking round Boots with 4 huge packs of nappies & 6 boxes of milk........its just easier to stock up all at once......I keep saying I'll shop online, but end up nearly running out............note to self - next time must do online shop!!!

On Sunday it was my Mam's birthday, so we all went out for Sunday lunch, it was yummy..........and I managed to polish off a bottle of rose wine........all before 4pm......hence the girls missed their bath for the first time this week! Bless, hahahaa!

And today we went out to buy new car seats, and got such a good deal! We bought them from Halfords, got the Britax Eclispe SI, which have heard lots of good comments about, they're supposed to be £110 each, but have £20 off at the moment.........plus as we were buying for more than one child, we got an extra 10% off........I was so chuffed.........ended up paying £162 for 2 really fabulous car seats, and the girls both loved their first journey in them, facing forwards too......was great!

Podywody: If I dont speak to you before you go, have a fab time back home, and say Hi to everyone from the 4 of us! We must get some walking organinsed when you get back..........the girls christening/ 1st birthday is just over 1mth away! I dont have an outfit, yet, but was hoping to lose a bit of weight before then. Most meals we eat now, as you've seen, are steamed or put in george foreman grill, so that should be helping, but no difference so far!

Smudgemum: Your trip is coming up quickly, bet you're so excited! Did you manage to get the insect repellant?

Kiminutter: If its possible, I'd love a copy of the pic from Saturday..........do you still have my email address?

Hope you're all well!!!

podywody · 16/05/2007 10:40

evenfattercatkin · 16/05/2007 10:50

Hello again! I lost this thread for a while and have just rediscovered it! Glad you all had fun on Saturday - Sorry I couldn't make it

I'm currently off work as I have really bad SPD. Maternity leave starts in 2 weeks and then I have around 4 weeks to go until D-day!
I'm getting really excited about having a baby!!

Would be fab to meet up sometime - I'll make sure I don't lose the thread again!!

podywody · 16/05/2007 11:08

Hi evenfatercatkin.. good name.. you must be so excited, what is your due date ? which hospital are you going to? take it easy and put your feet up, because nearer the time if you are like me, you will get the urge to start spring cleaning the house, i did 3 day before baby came, my ds is 7.5 mts now, the time has really flown by so so quick.

OP posts:
evenfattercatkin · 16/05/2007 11:19

I'm due the 27th June and I'm hoping to go to Hexham Maternity unit. I'm fighting the urge to spring clean the house now actually but I realise that would be a terrible idea so i'm making do with one small job per day then the rest of the time putting my feet up!

fibernie · 16/05/2007 13:29

Welcome Back!
They call it the Hexham Hilton there you know!
many distractions here, will try more later.

katwith3kittens · 16/05/2007 17:55

I can do a meet up tomorrow at the metrocentre, infact I was planning on going there thurs or friday anyway as M&S have a promotion on with their credit cards and you can choose a free bottle of wine or chocolates. Guess which I'm going for

Welcome Evenfattercatkin, looking forward to meeting you and your LO at some stage. Hexham hospital is lovely, can't believe I was there nearly 21 weeks ago. Where does all the time gone ?

SmudgeMum · 16/05/2007 20:12

Hi everyone. I'm going to have to bow out of meeting up tomorrow as I'm going to Chester le Street to visit my Great Auntie who has had a fall and is a care home She's 97 and managed to only break some toes!!!!
Katwith3kittens - how are you doing? How's MIL? And your OH?
Glad you got something to wear Podywody. I think M&S have some really nice stuff. They still do stuff for old ladies too though
Evenfatterkatkin - hope to meet up with you soon. Enjoy putting your feet up and don't bother with the cleaning. I think I missed that bit out of my pregnancy!

lauzie · 16/05/2007 21:31

Hello Everyone

Hope your auntie gets better soon smudgemum- wow 97!

Sorry I haven't been on for Ages!!! and that I missed M4M, ds and I have had a terrible tummy bug which lasted a week (I'v lost over a stone)

I have been at work constantly since the last meet (which I really enjoyed- at least when Tom let me sit down that is!) I'll always remember that meet as Tom took his 1st steps in debenhams! and I'm certain that he hasn't sat down since!!

Loads has been happening:

I dunno if you remember but a couple of months ago I was whinging that I couldn't find a house and I thought we were going to have to self build? well scrap that!

We were bidding against a property in West Woodburn 6 months ago in a sealed auction and ended up getting outbid by a massive £16.80!

We were absolutely devastated and haven't found anything else that even came close to it since. That was until Easter weekend when we found a farmhouse that nearly made up for losing the other.

Anywho.... I was just about to call the agent when the mobile rang in my hand (cue tubular bells) and it was the agent saying that the guy who beat us in the auction was having to sell up! and that it was ours on first refusal!!!

So to cut a long story short we have been pulling ceilings down etc. since!

I've got a complee mind blank now so that'll have to do for the mo!

Laura xx

SmudgeMum · 18/05/2007 12:02

Morning. Well I went for a night out with all the girls from my antenatal group and we had a fab night. Wasn't feeling too rough this morning (not that I drank lots but just not used to it)
Lauzie great to hear from you. I was wondering if you were alright. I don't know if dodgy stomach to lose weight is good or not. Hope you are better now. Sounds fab about the house but a lot of work. My Great Aunt was ok but wanted me to smuggle her home in DS pushchair! She doesn't like being told what to do and is used to doing things her way. I guess your perogative when you get to that age.
Glad you've got something to wear Podywody, when do you go over to Ireland? Is anyone around next Wed and fancies meeting somewhere? Kat -did you pick up your freebies from M & S. Was it the chocolates you went for? Are you sharing them with your kittens or scoffing the lot

SmudgeMum · 20/05/2007 20:28

I hope everyone has been out enjoying the sunshine. WE went for a long walk today (about 6 miles we reckon) so had to reward ourselves with tea and cake after!!
Realised I'm very daft and can't do Wed myself. Anyone up for Thursday anytime or Friday first thing?

SmudgeMum · 23/05/2007 12:39

Noone want to meet up then? I'll just have to go and eat carrot cake on my own

podywody · 23/05/2007 13:21

Hi All,
well we had a lovely time in Ireland the weather was terrible but it was great seeing all my family. Ds was great didn't make a bit strange to anyone.
Smudgemum I'd love to meet up which day suits you best ? I have class on fri morning till 11 but free all day after that.

OP posts:
katwith3kittens · 23/05/2007 13:38

I think I'll give it a miss this week. LO is a bit grunpy at at the moment and has a cold which doesnt seem to be shifting. I'd hate to pass it on to anyone.

Next week is half term, but after that would be fun.

Enjoy the carrot cake, and btw it was the bottle of wine I went for in the end not the choccs !!

SmudgeMum · 23/05/2007 21:50

Yippee, I thought I was on my lonesome then Podywody, how about we say to meet at M&S in Metrocentre tomorrow (Thursday) at 2pm. Hope you see this in time, anyone else welcome. I'll be there anyway and will eat carrot cake for you Katwith3kittens. Have you enjoyed the wine yet? Wine doesn't seem to be lasting 5 mins in our house at the moment

lilbunnybabe · 23/05/2007 21:56

Hi all!

I've not been online much lately, as we've all been ill with a virus, the girls are almost over theirs, but I seem to think I'm getting worse! Poor Ella is also cutting her first 2 teeth, so thats making her even more upset, bless her!!!

Podywody: Soz I had to cancel today, the way I'm feeling, I dont think I'll be good company for anyone! Me & OH popped to Metrocentre quick to exchange his Xbox, as it went kaput this morning, have done nothing since getting home.......4th early night in a row I think!

Smudgemum & Podywody: poss could meet up Friday, depending on how I'm feeling, can only do Metrocentre tho, as OH is at work. If not, can probably do sometime next week, if anyone is up for it!

Hope you're all well!
