Gosh, you are heartless/ ruthless.
Can't we pause for a minute, heads bowed and take a little time to reflect on just how great November thraed has been to us all

pudding77 · 01/12/2006 15:13

lol oxo

Paddlechick666 · 01/12/2006 15:29

hoxo, you do make me giggle!

more from MummySJ including pics of Daniel's birthday party.

you should all have it bookmarked by now so no link!

hoxohoxohoxo · 01/12/2006 17:25

Paddle - and in fact any west london girlie with nanny: can I ask how much you pay? I think I've found a lovely nanny. she has 2 spare days which suit me perfectly (work being very gracious and giving me full flexibility- LOVE them already), so it fits.
But - how much will it cost? I've got a couple of options i.e. can juggle with afterschool club and ad hoc childminding to fit in my hours but like the idea of 3 full days (dh going down to 4 days in April so will cover the extra day then). Somehow like the idea of work full days so can have lunch time to myself/ gym etc. I think I'm going back to owrk for a break

trying2bgood · 01/12/2006 18:10

Evening ladies,

Just a quickie to say met Mellow and Quokka this morning and they are both lovely. Quokka - tah for the hospitality and biccies - they were yum and I should have gobbled them all up when I had the chance! Doh!

Quokka - did I leave my dd2's water cup at your place?

harktheheraldfoxessing · 01/12/2006 18:13

Oxo - IKWYM about going back to work for a rest!

Just think, you can write a ToDo list and actually get everything done - in between your coffee breaks

harktheheraldfoxessing · 03/12/2006 08:01

Look at the weather!

Yesterday was lovely, but today its crap with a capital C!!!

sfxmum · 03/12/2006 08:59

apparently the weather will get much better after 11 or so the met office promises

hi everyone hope you all ok

hoxohoxohoxo · 03/12/2006 09:14

morning all: poo night. Both LOs up puking most of the night. Clearly some horrible bug going around
ds started at 8pm last night, with dd joining in at 11pm, every half hour. Both in our bed again last night - which smells REALLY bad now.

Any suggestions on how to make them feel better today, without venturing outdoors so as to contain the dreadful lurgy? They won't eat a jot, except sucking butter from bread slices. I used to do that when a kid.

mellowchristmas · 03/12/2006 09:39

Oxo,
Poor dc and you.

I hope the weather clears up as I've got quite a lot of shopping to do today.

hoxohoxohoxo · 03/12/2006 09:57

IT'S SUNNY NOW [SMILE]

ComeOyefaithfulVeneer · 03/12/2006 10:00

After a wet and wild night the sun is out here too. Been up since 6 with the children and after 7 days I'm still sick. Not wanting to jinx things, but it looks promising that we may exchange contracts next week and be moving on the 19th dec (but we will see).

Paddlechick666 · 03/12/2006 12:10

morning all

sorry to hear about your dc hoxo. poor things. dd had same recently and rice cakes were all she was interested in.

give me a buzz to chat about nannies if you'd like.

had a friend over for the evening which was nice. think me and dd may have influenced her desire for kids lol. think perhaps she may not mind waiting a bit longer he he he. mind you she's got to find a bloke first!

weather lovely, dd snoozing in buggy in kitchen!

harktheheraldfoxessing · 03/12/2006 12:58

The weather has cheered up, but now I feel crap wth a capital C. I feel all flu-ey and achey.

Comeon - oooh that's exciting. I hope it all goes ahead - you can have a new home for Christmas and we'll all get to meet you soon

Oxo -R U coming out to play on 13th?

Hi Paddle Rainbow is back on the Due March 2007 thread if you want to pop over and say Hi.

Chrissy tree is all decorated now and DH/DS have gone to but some new lights for it, plus some pink fluffy ones for DD to entice her into her new room.

harktheheraldfoxessing · 03/12/2006 12:59

SFX LOL at your comment about becoming English. The only reason we talk about the weather is because we seem to get all four seasons in one day!!

MrsBojangles · 03/12/2006 14:38

sfx don't worry about turning English... you're not... you're just trying to blend in to appear less conspiuous.

Christmas Tree and trainset all set up and kids delirious.

Hi all, busy day getting ready to move. Fortunately ds has slept loads today which has made it much easier.

Our xmas decorations probably won't be going up for another couple of weeks - usually the week before xmas!

2quokkasandapeartree · 03/12/2006 16:46

poor you oxo (and the kids) Greek yogurt is meant to help with puking up and the squirts. Ds2 has the squirts at the mo - very stinky!

2quokkasandapeartree · 03/12/2006 16:46

good luck with the move puds

2Cute · 03/12/2006 22:21

Poor you oxo! Best thing for sickness (if you can try and get it into your little ones) is ginger. Drain the juice out of some ginger and mix it in with honey to hide the yucky taste. A teaspoon 2 / 3 times through the day and vomitting will be over. I hate ginger but I swear by this remedy, it REALLY works

Good luck with the move pudding.

COV - fingers crossed for your exchange. When we moved, I was desperate to spend our first Christmas as a family in our new home. It was close but we made it!

Hope everyone's well

hoxohoxohoxo · 04/12/2006 07:55

no puking last night. lots of dry heaving and ds asked to go to be at 6.30 (answer: OF COURSE you can ). and when ds wants to go to bed, so does dd . so off they went, and before they reached the top of the stairs, the wine was open and Jack Bauer nestling in our video!!
turned out to be a good night.
Well, til 3am when ds crept into our bed but that was fine.

all in all, a fairly good evening to make up for the night before. It's nice when that happens, isn't it?

btw, we have West Wings and will soon be finished 24 season 5 if anyone wants to borrow them.

Foxy: am hoping to make drinkies on the 13th but have BIG night out on the 8th and am fearful of pushing my luck with dh. Negotitions continue

Uwila · 04/12/2006 10:49

Oh, look. We have Sunbury in the title now.

So, Oxo, have a missed a job announcement??? Where are you working. Now, what do you want to know about paying a nanny? Here are my very quick tips:

  1. Write gross salary into contract (not NET!!!)
  2. SSP only in the contract. Covers you if they try to pull sickies. Nothing to stop you from paying them anyway but you are covered if ever you want to hold pay back.
  3. Have a probationary period where you can end the arrangement on much shorter notice.
  4. Hire nannypaye to deal with the payroll/taxes. They are cheaper than Nannytax.

I could tak for days on things I would/wouldn't do with the nanny but I won't bore everyone else.

2quokkasandapeartree · 04/12/2006 13:02

Mrsbo hows the sleep blend going?

MrsBojangles · 04/12/2006 13:31

Hi Quokka... to say it in slang... It ain't going. As this morning I muttered the words... 'I'm gonna kill 'im'

Ds is really loving the massage though, as soon as he sees the bottle he lifts his top and grins

Even tried massaging it into his temples but to no avail. Saying that he's got a cold so that might be interfering.

Oxo - glad your LOs seem to be recovering.

Tell DP we'll send the heavy mob round if he doesn't let you out to play (that's me, I'm the heavy mob)

I think I have bronchitus - feel like pants (old worn pants at that)
