Pay not bad, and now getting a nanny. Think I've found a lovely one, and am meeting her tonight. Am liasing with PC, and we have a cunning alternative plan

How was Rome: loadsa pasta/ ice cream?

Foxy: I am MUCH heavier than yuou and have already threatened to sit on dh. so now it's up to fate

MrsBojangles · 04/12/2006 14:26

ComeOyefaithfulVeneer · 04/12/2006 19:02

Good luck pud. Am very envious you are moving, ourslooks like the 21st/22nd of december. It gets worse by the day.

2Cute · 04/12/2006 19:41

Hello all!

Oxo - You're a fan of 24? I absolutely LURVE it. The past few days, the second DS is out for the night, me and DH have been cramming as many episodes as we could (until we realise its almost 3am!) We've only got the last 2 left to watch tonight before DH returns it to his friend tomorrow.

Help - I brought a lovely train set to go around the christmas tree from NY but DS keeps taking the train off and crashing it into his other toys! I doubt if it'll last this Christmas let alone future ones!

2Cute · 04/12/2006 19:42

Sorry you're not feeling too good foxi

uwila · 04/12/2006 19:48

Does anyone fancy a swap? DD is driving me batty tonight and I was wondering if anyone might have a nice well behaved child they'd like to swap for a cute evil one?

Foxy, I do sympathise. When I was pregnant with DS, I had the worst cold/flu/whatever it was that there has ever been. It went around work and everyone talked about how horrible it was... and they were all taking drugs to make them feel better. I, on the other hand, had to suffer through with paracetemol. It was terrible.

Onto happier subjects, I'm thinking that a proper "Welcome to the West London meet-up thread" welcome bash might be in order in January for Comeoveneer. What does everyone think? January is so gloomy it might be fun to have an aoccassion to spice it up. I figure we'll all probably be on post Christmas tight budget. So, I could host it at my place if people don't mind commuting to Sunbury.

hoxohoxohoxo · 04/12/2006 20:09

Sunbury: is that even within the M25????

Would love to come - on hols 7-14th. Shall Is it with the working mums, or a SAHMs? Guess it depends on what teh day is

Met lovely nanny tonight: is £8,50/hr net toppish?

hoxohoxohoxo · 04/12/2006 20:10

byw: my two were monsters the other night - so your turn tonight uwilalal

back to 24 now, so can everyone pls sushhhhhh.

MrsBojangles · 04/12/2006 20:24

2cute - whenever he wants to smash the train, take it off him with firm no and remove train from sight. He'll get the picture eventually . Our ds did after a few derailments

Welcome bash for Comoveneer and leaving do for me

Hope everybody who's feeling poorly is on the mend. I went to see doc today to get some 'happy pills' as I have turned into demented cow recently for no good reason...

uwila · 04/12/2006 20:30

oooooeeeeeeee... she ought to be lovely for that price. What's that in cost to you? £13 per hour or something.. plus expenses. Yeouch.

hoxohoxohoxo · 04/12/2006 21:38

Uwila: she's happy with cih for now. £8.50 is what her other mum pays her. Now I'm scared

2Cute · 05/12/2006 00:53

Ta for the advice MrsB. Sorry you're feeling low. Hope the pills help. Just email anytime if you fancy a chat (or moan, as long as I can join in

Just concluded my late night rendez-vous with Jack Bauer so I'm heading off to bed. What will I do with my evenings now?

hoxohoxohoxo · 05/12/2006 08:04

Oh - don't tell me what happens!!. In fact I'm getting so fed up wityh Jack Bauer that I'm almost willing him to get knocked off.

Although I DO love his voice. But then again, I also fancied his dad's voice

What do you guys find most attractive about men? For me it's voice and eyebrows . For my sil it's hands.
I also find property and a big ....bank balance very attractive in men.

uwila · 05/12/2006 08:09

So, she works for both of you cih? Oh, and it's a nannyshare then. Do you have a contract stating her hours? When does she start? Is she eligible to work in the UK? I have lots of advice to give if you want it. Let me know if you want to chat (but not on here).

hoxohoxohoxo · 05/12/2006 08:16

uwila: do youw ant to meet for coffee oe something. YOu ahve big brains I need to pick

MrsBojangles · 05/12/2006 08:38

hoxo Uwila is out nanny specialist she sorted me out a while back when I got a nanny

One thing about cih... if you're planning to apply for those childcare vouchers that could get tricky as you're not paying tx/ni for her

Better get dd to school and hand out her b'day invitations... so hoping only 50% will come as I'm holding it at home! Refuse to pay extorionate xmas season prices for venue

OP posts:
uwila · 05/12/2006 08:47

Sure, we can meet up. How about after work in Twickers somewhere. I'm out tonight, and have a ballet recital on Friday. But, I could do Tues, Wed, Thurs. Or, I could manage a quick lunch in Chiswick one day, but after work would be better as I am actually really busy at work and it takes a while to get to/from Chiswick.

When does she start? In other words how big of a hurry are you in to have this conversation?

uwila · 05/12/2006 08:48

Okay, nobody's home. Today is Tuesday! I can do tomorrow or Thurs.

hoxohoxohoxo · 05/12/2006 09:24

uwila: i texted you. I can do tmrw but with 2 kids as dh working late, or thurs. let me know when/ where suits you best.
I have told her I have another nanny to see and will get back to her next week. I hope to see the other nanny this week. Although I did like this lady, she seems really friendly and is well known to my friends too so good personal recdmn.

MrsRecycle · 05/12/2006 09:25

You can't do tomorrow ! dd2 is soo looking forward to coming over (and so am I!).
