harktheheraldfoxessing · 05/12/2006 15:35

Hi Nanou! [waves]

Hi Paddle - oooh yes please to your offer re. my computer. Have just defragmented the hard drive (?) and cleaned out all my cokies . Won't help the problem in hand, but my Dad told me how to do it . Tell me when you're about.

Nanou1 · 05/12/2006 15:40

hi foxie! nice to see you. i like your father xmas! not having a good day at work... hate the commuting and the office is extremely lonely... there is more to life than this surely?! so will start looking in jan / feb. priority will be local ealing / hammersmith ish and hopefully in media. will have to see...

uwila · 05/12/2006 15:41

Hols were lovely, apart from poor sickly DS who was miserable. DD loved it. Ran around with a bunch of kids who don't speak her language but she didn't seem to mind.

hoxohoxohoxo · 05/12/2006 15:45

Hi
can anyone recommend a good, cheap painter/ decorator who covers the Richmond area?

Foxy: I know a good, cheap pc expert, if pc can't help. I've texted you his tel number. Hope you feel better soon

Uwilala (btw, where does teh name come from?) I've emailed you details for Thursday.

ttfn

hoxohoxohoxo · 05/12/2006 15:46

Nanou - you're back !!

Nanou1 · 05/12/2006 15:47

kids are amazing. reminds me of our nieces and nephews when they all mix together. dd now "learning" italian at school! hilarious and she remembers everything; the younger kids learn a language the better.

hoxohoxohoxo · 05/12/2006 15:49

byw Mrs Recycle: if you really don't want to go back to owrk so soon (bearing in mind I've just found a job and am desperate to go back for a rest so I amy not be the most responsive audience ), then I can thoroughly recommend workingparents or Palmer Wade solicitors who will exercise your rights on your behalf, without confrontation (so you still feel ok rather than awkard when going back later)

Nanou1 · 05/12/2006 15:51

hi oxo! just for this afternoon .... i am on my own in the office!!! and badly needed my chums! good to see you. you well?

Nanou1 · 05/12/2006 15:52

you got new job oxo? where? doing what?

hoxohoxohoxo · 05/12/2006 16:00

Nanou: YEs!!. part time, local, managing a small team (4/5 people). 5 mins walk from home . It's helping elderly and disabled to stay in their own homes rather than go into care. all warm and glowey inside.
am now in nanny hell. luckily uwila is going to set me straight. preferably while having a manicure (so yummy mummy!!)
how have YOU been? it's been quiet without you. I've stood on that corner in Richmond, just lookiung like a sole hooker now {fsad]

Nanou1 · 05/12/2006 16:16

well done oxo - congratulations! not great for me at work. busyish and very very lonely and but not least i hate the commuting... am going to contact work agencies in january - west london only hammersmith - ealing- brentford and ideally in media. fat chance!! anyway can't wait to pick up my dd tonight. her new name is angelinaballerinasnowwhiteprincessindia. i am trying to tell her it's a bit too long!

Nanou1 · 05/12/2006 16:18

i like those!!!!!!

uwila · 05/12/2006 16:42

OXO,

Uwila is the Old German word for owl. Back in my swinging single uni party days, I was in a sorority whose mascot is an owl.

Now, remind me why you chose the name oxo?

Oh, and Nanny Hell is a much deeper darker place than you are now. You are merely at the the pearly gates awaiting entry to the nanny world wher you might come into nanny heaven and you might go to nanny hell. Nanny Hell is when the kids are in the sole care of nanny who lives in your house, you have to be at work, and are pondering how to fire the useless twat without jeopardising the health safety and happiness of the 14 month old who can't tell you how might be neglected when you aren't there. So, you ring up your boss and politely ask for the rest of the week off while you freak out about replacing the childcare in the next three days. Then, you go tell the nanny that she is to pack her bags and be gone by noon. She will then proceed to swear at you and about you in polish, and then she'll go ring up Germany on the mobile phone you gave her to use up the rest of the credit. THAT, my friend, is nanny hell. Oh yeah, and ask me about vodka socks on Thursday.

Nanou1 · 05/12/2006 16:52

that's why i never wanted a nanny but a creche for my dd. much easier and you know it's social environment etc... and always someone to look after your child - and willingly!

uwila · 05/12/2006 17:00

Not if your kid is sick. Then YOU look after them. And not if you want to show up at work before 8:00am, and not if you want to pick up after 6:00pm, and not if...

Truthfully, I love having a nanny and couldn't possibly remain sane without her. I don't do school/childcare runs. I don't feed them. I don't do their laundry. I don't even usually change DS' nappy in the morning.

MrsBojangles · 05/12/2006 17:29

I think oxo started out as 'hugs and kisses' and got cruely renamed after the oxo cube sort of stuck

Nannies have their pros & cons... I had to take quite a bit of time off because my nanny was ill a lot... so ds now in nursery as dd in school and it works out cheaper that way

Did I start the "Oxo" thing? [bush] tell me someone else called you thatbefore I came along??

Write hoxo - Now what did sexy voice Jack do to you ey? My lips are sealed about what happens, what part are you watching at the moment.

I like tall, dark and distinctive looking men not pretty boys. Body wasn't that important until I met DH . He weight trains every other day but he's not too bulky. Then there's me who thinks replacing chocolate eating whilst catching an hour of T.V to exercise would be a terrible insult! Though DH's eyebrows look like caterpillars according to DS (and me, shush)!

Big wave to everyone! MrsB, Foxi how are you both feeling today?

2Cute · 05/12/2006 19:35

Doh - that was supposed to be not bush!

MrsBojangles · 05/12/2006 19:46

not quite as demented today, consoling myself with lots and lots of Ferrero Rocher .

Both kids finally in bed and dh out gaming so nobody putting demands on me and I'm not going to tidy up the kitchen no matter how much it needs it... PC time JUST FOR MEEEEEEEE

MrsBojangles · 05/12/2006 19:57

ohohohohohohoh just found THE house, well at least by spec haven't seen it yet, in just the right location (marlow) advertised on-line. According to map right next to school that I would dd to go to! Wish me luck! Have emailed agent to request viewing and begged them to talk to owners to wait till Feb for us to move in... fingers crossed!

Paddlechick666 · 05/12/2006 21:26

mrsb are you using propertyfinder.com and rightmove.com (or co.uk)?

sorry can't be effed to do a link ;-(

been a long day, took 3 hours to get back from the model agency coz i am a dill who got lost!

hope all's well people

harktheheraldfoxessing · 05/12/2006 22:08

Oooh Mrs B that's exciting !!!!!

Pc - how did it go at the agency??

Oxo - thanks for that contact; got the text

Nanou - great to have you back M'Dear!!!

I feel shite BTW, but actually quite like being ill as it gives me a chance to rest. Hey perhaps that's why I keep getting ill - cos I'm cream crackered all the time????

Was OK today until I went outside and then I started wheezing like an old man who smokes 100 a day

I've had about 12 days sick this year - does anyone think hat's OK? I'm getting seriously paranoid about it (though we can take up to 26 without it afecting our "performance" I still feel guilty)

MrsBojangles · 05/12/2006 22:16

foxie yes I think that's ok given your 'condition' and being cream crackers defenitely makes you more susceptible to illness. Mine usually starts with a sore throat at which point I dope up, which of course you can't do... so if anybody says anything at work... sod them

MrsBojangles · 05/12/2006 22:24

argh my outlook just died telling me my pst file is not accessible! ffs it was just there! and I can see it! Bloody technology! Of course it had to happen the day BEFORE I do my back up of contacts etc.

I think I'm going to bed now and try again tomorrow before I take this piece of junk and throw it out the window
