hey MrsR I thought about you yesterday - do you still want to borrow the double pump?

sfxmum · 05/12/2006 09:36

good morning all

foxie - sorry you are feeling poorly hope you get better soon

oxo- glad your kids are better, best of luck with nanny too

  • what i like in men? well i don't like pretty boys, not too marry at least too much like hard work. they have to be inteligent not like sport and be funny. dh still makes me laugh and it helps when difficult times happen

gosh that was cheerful

hope you all ok

Paddlechick666 · 05/12/2006 09:36

lol uwila! you've been busted!

you should star your own agency!

hoxo, take notes so you can relay info to me.

my nanny is deciding what to do in the new year this week, i'll keep you posted.

uwila · 05/12/2006 09:37

Oh f*ck I knew I was forgetting something. I can't do tomorrow. How about Thurs? Will you have the kids with you? Or do you want to grab a bite/drink somewhere in Twickenham? Can you recommend a good/cheap place?

MrsRecycle · 05/12/2006 09:41

Yes please Quokka - I'll email you.

Talking of Nanny's looks like I'll be joining the crew as well as they want me back at work in 2 weeks time. Mind you, I'm lucky in that she already knows us. It hit home yesterday when both dd's were ill (and winding me up ) that I'd need someone to cover these times. Also, ds has got really attached to me and needs someone he's used to.

Paddlechick666 · 05/12/2006 10:02

foxie, hope you're feeling better today.

maybe we should start a West London Nanny thread.

i'll see what my nanny says this week about new year plans. i love her, dd loves her, she loves dd but our arrangement is pretty fluid at the mo and i'd prefer something more defined.

having said that, at least i can chop and change days or even skip days and not have to pay holiday or sick etc which i guess would change.

i'd quite like to do the childcare voucher thing tho as i can get those as a benefit from work.....

decisions decisions!

uwila · 05/12/2006 10:14

MrsR, Oh, exciting you're going back soon. How many days a week? I heard a rumour that we are bidding on a job and the team on my current project will probably head over to that project if we get the job (as it will probably start up as this one winds down). And guess were it is? Ruislip. Is there a Chevron office there?

Paddle and Oxo, wander over to nannytax.co.uk if you haven't already. Tons of good (but mind boggling) information on that site. But, if you hire a payroll company, I recommend nannypaye as they are cheaper. By the way, why aren't you guys doing a nannyshare?

harktheheraldfoxessing · 05/12/2006 10:18

Hi everyone. Went to GP last night and I have bronchitis, so off work today with DD who is also poorly. My sick leave record for the past 6 months has been absolutelybloodyappalling, but hey; at least I get to listen to Woman's Hour again...

Puds - Hey good luck with the move. Just finished Case Histories, between midnight and 4am this morning (couldn't breath so couldn't sleep). Its brill - have you any of her other novels? [grovel, grovel emoticon]

Uwila - welcome back from Rome. Was it work or a dirty weekend? Great idea about a bring and share at yours in Jan (pop, glug, glug)

Mrs B - hope your feeling better soo. Am of you moving away from the London rat race. You should set up as a children's party enertainer, they charge £200 per go (for two hours work!)Hope DD's party goes well

Oxo - men huh? I like skinny dark ones, not overly tall. Agree with you about the voice being very important. What type of eyebrows turn you on then ?

Hi everyone else, PC, sfx, 2cute, TTBgood

still having problems with my compuer as I think I have virus. Someone lent me a norton anti virus disc but I can't load it as I can't find the exsisting anti virus thing to delete that. Most annoying as I can't internet shop.

Anyone know a PC doctor who doens't charge an arm and a leg?

I wrote a really long post ust now, but DD pulled the plus out of the wall and deleted it!

MrsRecycle · 05/12/2006 10:22

Uwila - I've not heard of Chevron office here - mind you there is an industrial estate just round the corner - it could be there. It's full-time in Hammersmith I really don't want to go back (my employer has really bullied me into it) but the earlier I go back, the sooner I can retire (we're talking a few years time).

uwila · 05/12/2006 10:24

Rome was lovely. It was for play. A friend (from work but now on mat leave) was having her baby baptised. She is from Rome. We spent the whole time at a lovely little hotel/resort where no one spoke any english. So DD ran around with a bunch of Itallian kids and seemed to have a lovely time. She was yelling in Itallian at the end of the day, but I'm sure she had no idea what she was saying. And DS was sick -- poor guy. He had a cold (stuffed up nose, coughing, etc.) and could harldy stay awake. Had a fever too. Poor little guy. But, we had fun. Although I do not recommend Easy jet with a 1 and 3 year old. They don't have milk on board!

MrsRecycle · 05/12/2006 10:25

Foxes - I'm sorting out my dds party and have decided on a Disco for them. dh had this brilliant idea of me dj-ing for them (seeing as I used to be one ) so I'll save myself a bucket. Maybe I should start up a new career - mind you my dad was one and it was the most unsociable career ever - we never saw him at the weekend.

MrsBojangles · 05/12/2006 10:27

Foxie, I couldn't possibly work as a children's entertainer... can barely bear my own kids . The entertainer I've found is £135 for 2h

As for your pc... gotta love antivirus software... if it works, great if it doesn't... b*ggered. Could have a look at your pc next time we're in the area, used to do that for a living. Though I'm sure somebody else on here is more up to date. My stint in IT is 4 years ago!

OP posts:
uwila · 05/12/2006 10:27

What do you mean he bullied you into it? Tell him to fob off if you don't want to go. It's your choice not his. On the other hand, I have this sneaking suspicion that you will be glad to be back once you get into the swing of things.

Do you want to do lunch in Chiswick the Friday of your first week back? I mean really what fun is work if you can't go to lunch with your chums?

MrsRecycle · 05/12/2006 10:34

Exactly Uwila - that's what dh said. So I'm going to tell him in no uncertain terms that I'm doing him a favour and that at no time is he to question my dedication to the company. Mind you, I have a few plans up my sleeve . I would love to do lunch but I don't know anything about the job yet. I will also be expressing at lunch time so we might have to take a rain-check until after Christmas. I'll let you know w/c 18th.

MrsChristmasboo · 05/12/2006 10:42

Hi Ladies, hope you are all well.

Has anyone been to HaHa Bar in Ealing? Going there next week and last time i went it was Yates! Is it gonna be full of teenies? Just so i'm prepared....

harktheheraldfoxessing · 05/12/2006 11:21

Mrs Recycle - am well impressed with you doing DJing. I love the idea of a kids Disco for a party. Let me know how it goes - we may have some work for you in the summer!

How old is your baby now BTW?

Mrs Snowboo - I think you'll find that Ha Ha's in Ealing is full of Ealing Council staff each evening!!

MrsB - thanks for the offer - will deffo take you up on it sometime if its convenient for you. I just need to load this protection on and get rid of the "maxysize penis enlargement" pop ups (no pun intended) I keep getting

Paddlechick666 · 05/12/2006 11:29

foxie, i could check out your machine some time.

i'm not a huge pc techie (more a mainframer) but could prob work something out for you........

uwila, yeah me n hoxo are thinking nannyshare. ta for tips. rome sounds fab. lucky begger.

ok gotta dash, catchya all later
;-)

MrsRecycle · 05/12/2006 12:13

Foxie - if my hair's turned grey at the end of January you know it was a stressful time and I'm not doing it again. ds1 is 15 weeks now and still not even 10 lb so it looks like he's taking after dd2 size-wise. Ah well at least he's happy.

MrsChristmasboo · 05/12/2006 13:01

Ah so thats where they all hide out now! We were wondering....

I'm going this Sat, just looked at the date and realised i have NOTHING to wear!!!! Oh, must rush out and get something. At what age must you stop dressing like a teenager??

Hi Mrs R, hows the baby? Can't believe he is 15 weeks already....

sfxmum · 05/12/2006 14:55

mrsCboo - does your inner teenager count? NEVER! just as long as you fancy it me thinks

now why oh why was the M&S queue so long and why did i go before lunch and why grab a bag of sweets and why have i eaten half of it already?!

MrsBojangles · 05/12/2006 15:00

because it's a hungry day I had eaten my lunch sandwich by 10:30!
