Okay I have spoken to a chap at Waxy's. This pub is going to be refurbished between now and next June.

We could use the sofa gallery for 60 people and depending on numbers combine with the Broad Street Bar for up to 120. The sofa gallery is the furthest area from the dance floor and therefore the quietest area of the pub. The pub will be quite lively at the weekend.

It is just off the ring road and very close to a Travel Lodge (according to Whimsy)

I thought we could book a room Feb/March time and organise a deposit. We will have a better idea how many are interested and if it's a likely goer.

Sorry - got distracted part way through that, so X posted with your list!

When the Christmas list was being compiled we did other threads in chat and so on with links to the original one to draw peoples attention to it. You could also do links in other meet-up threads as I'm sure they won't mind.

The rule with the Christmas one was that if no-one had heard from them for a while then it was presumed that they weren't going.

It's a pain organising these things especially when people drop out at the last minute so I'm really sorry to be one of them WWB, but Custy's mum's funeral is this coming weekend and I doubt either of us will want to go partying the weekend after that.

Hope to be able to meet any future ones though.

If too many people drop out WTP then could we decide on another date and change it at Waxy's? You wouldn't loose the deposit then.

I think yoiu might be right CSWS. We have gone from 25 to 15 in a couple of days.

It might be better to try and rearrange for later in the year.

See if you can re-arrange for maybe September, then most will welcome the night out after the 6 weeks Holidays.

Then tath also gives every time to DIARY it and give a dead line of a confirmation date and maybe get a small deposit??

The only problem with September is that it is getting clost to my due date.

I suppose we could always try for Saturday 1st september as that gives me another week before I have my 36 week scan.
