So that Uwilalalalala doesn't get offended by us bookworms - or would like to be bookworms if we had the time...

OP posts:
foxabout2pop · 27/01/2007 09:47

Mellow - yes of course, it'll be lovely to see you!!! Who has your Chinese books BTW?

Let us know if there are any others you want from any of us so we can bring them on the day!

sfxmum · 27/01/2007 10:54

foxie/mellow i have the books should be done by then, my mil is a fan apparently and offered to lend me a few others by the same author.

not sure what people want to borrow, any request?

mellownomore · 28/01/2007 09:18

Hi sfx,
I wouldn't mind re-reading Pearl S Buck but what books do your mil have? Does she have East Wind, West Wind? I would highly recommend that to those who haven't read it.

foxabout2pop · 28/01/2007 10:09

I'd like to borrow anything that's easy to read but good, as my poor little brain is a bit distracted atm.....

sfxmum · 28/01/2007 10:25

i have a couple of old fashioned 'who done its' which are really easy and fun by Edmund Crispin

loving the Pearl S Buck mellow, not sure which books mil has as she is quite far in Lancashire we just had a late night talk over Christmas when she mentioned that, will ask

foxabout2pop · 28/01/2007 15:44

I've got some more of Kate Atkinson's I can bring: Emotionally Wierd and Behand the Scenes in a Museum.

The detective ones sound great sfx!

pudding77 · 29/01/2007 14:56

Foxie, I'd like to borrow Emotionally Wierd if poss. I was just going to bring a selection of stuff unless someone would like to request anything.

My library has just started a reading group & our first book is The Kite Runner which I started last night. I'd planned an early night but I couldn't put it down!

sfxmum · 29/01/2007 16:25

so detective stuff for foxie, i still have not got to Arthur&George and Moon over Vietnam, puds book, if possible i would like to keep them a little longer. i must spend more time studying as i have an exam on march 1st

so shall i bring cookies or cake?

pudding77 · 29/01/2007 16:27

No worries, sfx! Though the Vietnam one is mine, I don't know who the other one belongs to!

I have finished both of the vampire hunter ones now so will bring them with me!

Is it still on the 17th?

foxabout2pop · 29/01/2007 17:57

have the detective ones got any sex in them? I'm having to enjoy sex by proxy atm

sfxmum · 29/01/2007 17:59

the detective things are a bit Noel Coward
but can lend you pne of the vampire executioner things lots of all sort of sex

foxabout2pop · 29/01/2007 18:07

I find the very concept of vampires sexy TBH - always make me think of that yummy young Christopher Lee (makes vile drooling noises)

sfxmum · 29/01/2007 18:17

foxabout2pop · 29/01/2007 18:18

PG bump!

foxabout2pop · 07/02/2007 06:37

OK lets get this bookswap organised (she says assertively )

What are people bringing along?

and are there any requests?

Did someone borrow Andrea Levy? What did you think of it - I have her three others here too (Mellow?)

I'm up for anything gripping or filthy atm, as I am finding very difficult to concentrate on proper books. Could probably do sentimental too, in hormonal state atm.

I have lots of contemporary authors here....well I have their books anyway

foxabout2pop · 08/02/2007 09:46

bumpittybump

mellow2 · 08/02/2007 10:48

Hi foxie,
I borrowed Minaret by Leila Aboulela and I'm not Scared by Niccolo M, and a Fay Weldon book.

I enjoyed the 1st 2 but I'm probably not so keen on Fay Weldon.

I don't have any of your Andrea Levy books but I wouldn't mind reading one.

I'm afraid I can only offer the same books from the previous book swap. I've only been reading books from the last book swap for the last couple of months.
