hauntedvillas · 31/10/2006 14:57

Hello everyone from me working a 5 day week, 12 hr days and no time really to mumsnet except for 5 mins right now whilst tucking into an emergency Twirl SJ is it too late to say good bye and good luck!

Boowila · 31/10/2006 15:03

Priorities, Haunted! I should be working too, but I'm busy protecting OXO from bad nannies.

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 31/10/2006 18:43

Haunted - that sounds heavy - what type of work do you do?

I work 35 hours compressed into Mon-Thurs. Am working until about 9.30/10 tonight, but have just picked up a Lebanese halloumi cheese wrap and some Tabouleh to sustain me (plus a pack of 5 Cadbury's flakes!!!)

Tis very quiet on here today

hauntedvillas · 31/10/2006 19:20

Lebanese halloumi cheese wrap ... mmmmm add a LARGE G&T and I'd be in heaven .... yep, still at work and looking forward to my 0630am taxi tomorrow, yikes! Work for the CEO of a plc and we're rather hectic here at the moment so DH has had to take a couple of days off to mind 21 month old dd. So, today they enjoyed the delights of the hairdresser and Hugo's Normally I just do Wed to Fri so will be pleased to resume that next week!! Also cannot wait for the Wagamama night out and can confirm will be consuming at least several large drinks while probably having a quick moan if that's ok

hauntedvillas · 31/10/2006 19:22

Talking of haunted, did anyone read in the Metro today that Derek Acorah is a FAKE!! I feel so let down (although I could have guessed

pumpkinpud · 31/10/2006 19:53

that guy always gave me the creeps [shivers emoticon]

unhallowed · 31/10/2006 20:03

Spooky,

Don't worry about the booster seat. You've got a lot on. Just call when you have time.

pumpkinpud · 31/10/2006 20:05

hey unhallowed, how was your pedicure?

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 31/10/2006 21:04

Are we all going to change our names tomorrow morning for Bonfire Night names?

Hope so, as I've thought of one already

unhallowed · 31/10/2006 21:27

Puds,

It was heavenly . It came with a really nice leg and foot massage. I'm going back for a proper massage when I have some spare dosh.

pumpkinpud · 31/10/2006 21:32

Glad you enjoyed it unhallowed! I must go back sometime soon to make sure she's got some more business!!

Foxie - I'm changing my name tomorrow as well!

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 31/10/2006 21:45

Oooh I'd like a foot massage right now

FizBangWhooooosh · 01/11/2006 08:19

boo, thanks for last night. was good to catch up.

dd was asleep by 9pm and went thru till 5am! then she nodded off again and wouldn't wake up at 6am again lol.

dh starts his new job today...........

guyfoxie · 01/11/2006 08:32

I love the new name Fizzbang!!!

Send best of luck to your DH for his first day - hope he likes it!

We managed to get out of trick or treating last night because a) I was working late (did a 14 hr day ) and b) kids were so tired after the holiday they actually forgot!!!

This morning DH asked "when's Halloween Mummy?", so I muttered something about "oooh, we might have missed it!"

unhallowed · 01/11/2006 08:34

Quokka,

I don't know if you've been to Nicky's but she says she has clients who bring their toddlers along so it probably wouldn't be a problem if you did.

parkinpud · 01/11/2006 08:40

unhallowed, don't know if you're interested or not but I'm going to a music class at the Watermans this morning. If you'd like to come along it starts at 10.30am and costs £5.

guyfoxie · 01/11/2006 08:48

Parkinpud - you might have to explain your name to me!

parkinpud · 01/11/2006 08:57

Yorkshire parkin was a cake always served on bonfire night when I was a little girl!

guyfoxie · 01/11/2006 08:59

Wow I've learnt something today. Sounds nice!

Guy Fawks was a rebellious Catholic like me!

parkinpud · 01/11/2006 09:06

yorkshire parkin recipe

Mmm, maybe I'll make some! Only thing is my dh doesn't like it so guess I'll have to eat it all myself

mellowfire · 01/11/2006 09:22

pud,

Maybe next time. DD is still asleep at the moment. I probably won't be able to get us out of the house in time.

FizBangWhooooosh · 01/11/2006 09:23

oh god I LOVE parkin! didn't know it was a bonfire night thing tho.

my granny used to make it and now my mum and sister do. it's sinful, how on earth can your dh not like it! i'll have some if you're baking!!!

hi GuyFoxie, i'm liking your name too - very clever!

sounds like you're working way too hard tho. hope you take it easier for the rest of the week.

i had a huge bag of sweeties for the kids but only ended up getting 3 knocks so if your dc's are low on sugar i can donate!

who's doing fireworks this weekend then?

FizBangWhooooosh · 01/11/2006 09:24

ah, i just checked your parkin recipe and it's a bit different to ours which has a LARGE amount of chocolate and glace cherrys in lol

mellowfire · 01/11/2006 09:27

Btw, Fizzbang

Good luck with your dh's first day at work.
