my first telling off from MrsBigD - I feel like I'm now truly a part of mn

quokka · 15/10/2006 09:38

Ok who lives in ealing? we might be moving there and want to gather as much info as poss. Whats the air traffic like, schools, etc. Am thinking St Stephens area as I've fallen in love with the Avenue

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 15/10/2006 09:47

uuuuuuurgh

Have been up all night vomiting and with food coming from every other orifice too

Sue are you ok?

I either have a virus or food poisening The toilets in that cafe yesterday were dirty and had no soap, so wondering if its the latter.

Quokka, Dan just popped round - with me in me jim jams, no make up (not a pretty sight) and smelling of sick!

Has said he'll pop back on Friday arvo - so must be quite a brave man !

quokka · 15/10/2006 09:50

oh foxy that sounds terrible! I'm sure dan has seen me in my fluffy slippers complete with baby spew. Get some greek yogurt into you asap!

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 15/10/2006 10:05

Bluuurrrgh!

MrsBigD · 15/10/2006 10:21

poor foxie! Hope you feel better soon

Quokka I'm in Ealing, St Stephens? Do you mean that church that sort of is a roundabout? That's not far from me

OP posts:
quokka · 15/10/2006 10:40

yeh thats it mrsbigd, what the noise like and whats the low down on schools in the area?

unmellow · 15/10/2006 11:38

foxie - that sounds awful. hope it's not a virus. i can still remember how awful it was to have a virus when I was pg and I had three and the worst was the one in my 3rd trimester. The worst was not being able to take anything for it.

we're thinking of moving to ealing common area ourselves 'cos I love the japanese shops there, including a japanese grocer and hairdresser.

bunyanvillas · 15/10/2006 13:58

Oh, foxie sorry to hear your woes. Can you keep anything down? Flat coke or lemonade can sometimes help to settle the stomach.

WiFiWhizzJustCallMeaGeek · 15/10/2006 14:23

hey foxie, hope you're feeling better soon. think there's a virus going around as dd was so ill last week.

went into costa coffee in kingston yesterday to use loo and get coffee. was so disgusted with loo that i complained to manager and refused to buy coffee.

hope you feel better soon tho.

am shabby myself - ended up at west mid for emergency dr appt for a virus i've got but mine is the pre-cursor to strep throat. hoping it will clear up in next day or so otherwise back to dr.

sorry Pud for cancelling so last minute this am.

cruisy sunday arvo in the making if can get dh to shift his butt!

pudding77 · 15/10/2006 15:55

Hi all, no worries about this morning Whizz - hope you're feeling better. Dh was a little disappointed as he'd counted on some tv time so I've been out for a walk this afternoon & ended up buying ds some new toys. I really must stop doing that .

Sorry you're not feeling well foxie, hope you feel better soon.

oremstango · 15/10/2006 17:30

Hey MrsBig D- Afraid the email didn't come through and nothing showing in spam either- any ideas? Speak soon,
Jen

WiFiWhizzJustCallMeaGeek · 15/10/2006 17:51

well, dh kindly took dd out for a walk after i had a bit of a paddy about doing laudry and lunch etc whilst being unwell!

i snoozed a bit but have woken up feeling even more dreadful. can barely swallow. dr said not to take the codiene/paracetemol the pharmacist gave me yesterday due to still breastfeeding.

feeling proper sorry for myself

hope you're feeling better foxie and that you've had a rest up too.

we went to ELC for presents for all the NCT group - never thought of the expense of having 5 babies to buy for at the time LOL!

as ever i ended up buying something for dd but it has now been confiscated. i got her the wooden noah's ark and she won't stop RAMMING the animals so far down her throat that she chokes. then she wanders around doing it freaking me out that she'll stumble and ram it even futher into her mouth or something.

must go post on the behaviour thread as she is just loving making herself gag at the moment.

phew, i've rambled on. sorry........ am probably delirious...........

quokka · 15/10/2006 19:27

Poor you wiz, my house is so quiet. Lo's are asleep and dh flew out to Monaco for a work conference today.

So that means he will be out till 3am every night with clients and collegues and up at 8am for meetings. It will take him a week to recover when he gets back on Wed evening - oh what a joy!

Only good thing is while hes away I don't have to pick up after him, do his laundry and cook for him

But just remembered the dreaded mil will be around on Tues gloating about her 3 1/2 week holiday in Sri Lanka

MrsBigD · 15/10/2006 19:57

quokka just tell her that a week without her son being home is just as relaxing as 3 weeks in Sri

unmellow · 15/10/2006 20:00

whizz - sorry to hear that you still have to do chores and cook when you're unwell. I get into a strop if my dh doesn't help out on weekends and I'm not even a working mom.

WiFiWhizzJustCallMeaGeek · 15/10/2006 21:59

hey quokka, how'd you get your 2 asleep by 7:30pm? RESPECT!!!

dd is getting a bit earlier but the best we can do so far is 8ish.

know what you mean about dh being away, it's deff like having less kids around!

unmellow, yeh i was a bit peeved but to be fair he's pretty good normally.

i've finally given in and taken some painkillers and feel so much better.

bedtime soon i think.

Whizi

Thanks for the details pudd

Whizzi & Foxie - hope you're both are feeling better. Think there must be something going around. I kept getting really bad dizzy spells all day so had to spend the day in bed, poor DS was a bit frightened by what was happening and kept cuddling me to make it better. DH (bless him) took DS to the park and did all the house stuff while I lay in bed feeling crap & a little guilty.

Love the stickers Whizzi. I abolutely love doing up kids rooms and even pondered about setting up a little service doing it...soon stopped pondering when I remembered that I'm not the most organised of people!

Welcome oremstango

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 16/10/2006 09:39

Hi everyone

have deffo stopped vomiting but feel wiped out now.

Sue are you out there? Get off that Borat hread and come back to us!!

I think it was food poisening from that filthy cafe - seems too much of a coincidence: eat in empty cafe where loos are filthy and staff not wearing catering gloves when making sandwiches, then vomiting all night. Will ask council to do an env health inspection or something.

Whizz - sorry you are so poorly. When I'm ill I just lie in bed and refuse to move so DH has to get off his arse and help. Otherwise he seems to expect me to carry on as normal. Yesterday he didn't get a chance to sit down even

Priority now has to be to make sure we're well for Thursday night

While I was lying on the bed yesterday, baby kept moving and DS 6 was able to feel it kicking

WiFiWhizzJustCallMeaGeek · 16/10/2006 10:56

hey foxie, does sound a little too co-incidental doesn't it. hope you're on the mend now tho and i would suggest much hot chocolate to speed your recover.

so cute to hear about the baby. i am so confused about whether to have a 2nd or just focus on dd.........

2cute, sorry to hear you're unwell too. the whole dizzy thing is horrid isn't it. glad your dh helped out too.

my dh got up early to tidy up before the cleaner arrived and i've phoned in sick. nanny has taken dd out for afternoon so i am going to enjoy the break.

feel a bit guilty about dh tho, he's gone off to work and was exhausted before he got there poor bloke!

the sofa, Narnia on DVD and possibly a snooze are calling me tho.

any further progress on a CPC in Gunnersbury ladies?

Whizi

Nanou1 · 16/10/2006 11:15

hi guys. can't keep up with the posts am afraid... you better foxie? 2 cute? can't wait to catch up properly on thursday welcome to the newbies too and great stuff you can join us. really miss my dd today...it's going to be a lond day . hope you are all ok but i think i've missed something re SJ?

suejoneziscalmernow · 16/10/2006 11:55

Sorry Foxie - I'm absolutely fine, but then I didn;t use the toilets! It wasn't a good sign that on a Saturday lunchtime we were the only people in there for almost 2 hours shan't be using them again. I can't beleive they're still in business, think the cafe might just be a front for the mafia and the dirty toilets are deliberate to put customers off going there.

Nanou - I'm not leaving this week - still no letter in sight and I finished work on Thursday! Man at the ministry won't say when he is going to issue the letters so we now have no idea what is going on.

quokka · 16/10/2006 12:40

Hey pudding do you know if your friend nicky will let me bring the kids while I have my bits waxed? Have been trying to find a kid friendly beauty place for ages. Used to go to Jurlique in chiswick, but too hard to get appointment on the weekend and the lo's can't tag along during the week!

I think I may stay indoors this week as everyone seems to be ill

Nanou1 · 16/10/2006 13:02

hi quokka! that area is lovely (st Stephens). are you bored where you are then? or is it the school business that is prompting a move? the last of our oldest couple of friends are moving out of london soon . it all happened so quickly... they had the offer they wanted for their house within one week and theirs was accepted too so they are all very happy!! if you go under the ealing gov website you can get info on schools too. glorious day today and stuck in office .

WiFiWhizzJustCallMeaGeek · 16/10/2006 13:47

SJ, they're doing a phone in on o/s adoptions on Radio5Live...........

ring in an tell 'em what it's really like for real people trying to do some good and not just fake pop singers who think that they can buy whatever they want whenever they want!

hope you get some good news soon.
