Here's the general chit-chat thread for October

Synopsis please on what I've missed last week! Too pre-occupied for various reasons to wade through all threads. Thanks

Unmellow - shall we meet outside the entrance to the garden centre? Then it should be fairly easy to spot each other!

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 14/10/2006 09:09

Sue -I'll ring you when we leave the hairdresser's shall I?

We'l just be picking up some Dr Who cards on the way, for DS

WiFiWhizzJustCallMeaGeek · 14/10/2006 09:18

Hello ladies,

At long last made the move from Islington to Kew, with baby on his way this January. Haven't met folks down this way yet so will be great to connect with you!

Jennie

Hi newmum,

Ok, I'll check for subtitled films. No probs with waiting till Nov.

unmellow · 14/10/2006 11:47

Can anyone recommend a teething remedy (preferably homeopathic) that would work with a 6-month old?

My dd is teething and she's been waking up a few times a nite for the past month. Last nite, she was up all nite whining.

Chilled carrots and frozen bananas have been suggested but as I'm not weaning for another week, I'd like to try something else first.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

backtoxoxoxo · 14/10/2006 13:04

teething tips: Dr Nelsons or Boots own: fab!! Or frozen banana

quokka · 14/10/2006 13:35

Hi oremstango lots of people in kew on here! Are you asahm, if so there is a daytime meetup thread. If your interested we are all meeting up for dinner at Escale (turkish food) on the 19th

WiFiWhizzJustCallMeaGeek · 14/10/2006 13:41

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 14/10/2006 15:41

Hi Oremstango and welcome to this thread!

There are about 4/5 of us in Kew and we meet once a month for a girls night out, plus lots of meets on the daytime thread as well.

Nice to have you on board

suejoneziscalmernow · 14/10/2006 16:00

Foxie - stop me posting on the Borat thread I'm like a moth attracted to a flame! I just can't bear the "oh get a sense of humour" type of comment... must go lie down in a darkened room for a while.

Hi oremstango - nice to see you made it eventually

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 14/10/2006 16:23

Sue - it was great to see you today. I must get off this computer and do something more useful. But before I do, will have a nose on the Borat thread

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 14/10/2006 16:32

Oremstango - have just remembered - I have a baby due end of Feb!! Actually forgot I was PG!!!

Which hospital will you be having your LO in? I'm with Queen Charlottes, but have given birth previously at West Mid and Kingston

I also have a DS 6 and DD 3. Am hoping to have 6-9 months off work next year, so hopefully, we could have newborns together

MrsBigD · 14/10/2006 18:18

Welcome to the crowd oremstango

Foxie how could you possibly forget that you're pg???

pudding77 · 14/10/2006 18:23

Hi Oremstango, welcome to both the thread & West London!

We seem to be having a bit of a surge of newcomers

2cute - if you don't mind, I've CAT-ted you details of the yoga classes my teacher does (not many in the evening I'm afraid - but have a look and let me know!).

WiFiWhizzJustCallMeaGeek · 14/10/2006 18:48

Pud, i think we're planning to get to Kew for about 11ish tomorrow. will take some lunch for dd and grab something for ourselves whilst we're there.

a good crawl around C&C then a stroll should do the trick for us.

Anyone else up for that?

Foxy, my bouncy thingy is still boxed due to my being far too domestic this arvo and also feeling a bit grotty.

as for your activities, is there anything more useful to do than MN?

oh btw, DH bought a pack of Dr Who cards for your DS today. hopefully see you soon to hand over.

ps: we decorated dd's room this pm with the transfers we bought before she was born! it looks great, will try to post a pic if i can figure it out LOL!

unmellow · 14/10/2006 18:52

Will do Puds. I'll be there at 10 am.

Thanks xoxo and whizz. I'll be getting some of boot's powder tomorrow. Fingers crossed I'll get more sleep after that .

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone on Thu and having a glass of white (or maybe two).

WiFiWhizzJustCallMeaGeek · 14/10/2006 19:19

and here is my attempts at childrens' interior design!

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 14/10/2006 19:37

Wifofwhizz - that's really kind of your DH :0 I'd like to join you in Kew, but need to visit my Dad tomorrow.

We'll met again on Thursday when you arrive for puds

MrsBigD - my brain is so pregnant and useless at the moment, I can't even remember I'm pregnant !!

pudding77 · 14/10/2006 19:42

Hi whizzi - 11's good for me. Do you want to meet at C&C or does dd have her lunch first?

pudding77 · 14/10/2006 19:43

Btw, I think the stickers look fab - where did you get them from? We're hopefully moving house soon & want to do something like this in ds's room.

WiFiWhizzJustCallMeaGeek · 14/10/2006 20:11

11am at C&C is good. dd will have lunch around noon so we'll bring jar with us.

i ordered the stickers online from FunToSee . they're so cheap and seriously easy to use.

mind you, i'd say they don't really do a whole room as we used an entire pack on one wall. am toying with the idea of the jungle one for the other wall.

FF, you must be pg as there's only one octopus on the set. there's heaps of other fishies and seahorses and a treasure chest as well tho.

np re: Dr Who stickers. will try to remember on Thurs. hope you have a good time with your dad tomorrow.

;-)

pudding77 · 14/10/2006 20:45

Great, I'll see you at 11 tomorrow! Ds will probably be ready for his lunch around then as well!

oremstango · 14/10/2006 20:49

Thanks for all the warm welcomes ladies! So glad to get connected here. I'm definitely game for Escale on the 19th though not quite sure if you could drop me a line to let me know (jenniedrimmer at yahoo.com) as I get lost on these threads. : ) Not asahm yet, working full-time though off first half of next year and definitely will look forward to meeting up then (and hopefully before)! Enjoy your Saturday-
Jennie
