Synopsis please on what I've missed last week! Too pre-occupied for various reasons to wade through all threads. Thanks

Sue - bet you're glad your name is not Madonna this week!

LOL at the suggesion that the cafe is a front for the Mafia in Kew!. Seriously though, the last time I had food poisoning was 10 years ago when on holiday in Sicily, so there could actually be a connection there.......

ALL OTHER WEST LONDON RESIDENTS/WORKERS - ITS CALLED "CAFE CAFE" ON SANDYCOMBE ROAD - DON'T GO THERE!!!

Have reported them to Env Healt who are going to visit and then write to me.

Whizz - you're sounding a wee bit more chirpy so that's good. I lay on my back all day yesterday feeling sick, so DH had to run around and poor him didn't get a chance to sit down all day!!

MrsBigD · 16/10/2006 14:13

SJ hope you're not going stir crazy over the waiting. Bl**dy official on power trip is he? Do you need anything else to take as 'presents' to the orphanage once you get there? Found the bodies again and 4 chunky plastic toy cars. Also have a bag of clothes for your lo once he/she arrives if you want to have a look.

Well, I couldn't be feeling left out so I decided to catch a cold! Still just a bit sniffly and feeling generally crap so hoping it's not going to get worse, esp. with Thurs coming up!

Quokka - I'm sure you would be able to take the lo's along but tbh I wouldn't say its really kiddy-friendly as she does just run it from her house.

Foxie - I would definitely blame the cafe, you seem to be on a roll lately, first QC & now Cafe Cafe!

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 16/10/2006 14:48

Puds - yes I seem to be turning into a serial complainer don't I? Mind you, at least it means the brain cells are still just about functioning, despite being PG

pumpkinpud · 16/10/2006 15:24

At least its for good reasons, rather than just whingeing

As you can see, I've changed my name to give it a halloweeny feel! Wait til you see what it's going to be for bonfire night!

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 16/10/2006 18:16

Puds - love it! Perhaps on Thursday we can think up some outrageous new names for Bonfire night to!

MrsBeDreadingTrickOrTreat · 16/10/2006 18:58

quokka Ealing schools for you. As for noise levels... I forgot one thing... DIWALI, for one week a year you'll get fireworks galore

quokka · 16/10/2006 19:19

tried the link but it doesn't take me anywhere? Are you loosing your touch oh masterful one?

quokka · 16/10/2006 19:21

Fireworks aren't that bad, its just the thought of having to stop talking while the plane goes overhead that drives dh crazy!

MrsBeDreadingTrickOrTreat · 16/10/2006 19:58

not me loosing my touch, ds must have hit the delete key when I entered the url!

ealing schools

and planes arent that loud here

2Cute · 17/10/2006 00:05

Evening all - I'm tring to find solace in my laptop. Was feeling physically better but back to feeling crap after arguing with DH. what's the deal with men?! If anyone figures the answer out PLEASE let me know.

DS hates fireworks so its not such a great month for him!

MrsBeDreadingTrickOrTreat · 17/10/2006 07:25

2 cute... the deal with men? for starters they are men. How to deal with them... beats me, if anybody knows I'd love to know too! Personally I think they are simply around to make life 'interesting' for us... hmmmm wonder whether I should contact the guys who wrote 'how to talk to children/teenagers so that will listen and listen so that they will talk' and request a 'how to talk to husbands...'

FiziWhiziLetsGetScary · 17/10/2006 08:09

the deal with men 2cute is that they are, in the main, rubbish at anything that relates to anything other than themselves or their own interests or what they want or ULTIMATELY whatever is easiest for them!!!

sorry to hear you're rowing with your dh, things are all a bit tetchy in our house too. if that wasn't obvious from the above LOL.

sfxmum · 17/10/2006 08:47

i am sorry 2cute, that you are having a difficult time.
the trouble with men is indeed that they are men, can't really help with more than that really.
and the thing is while you keep thinking about the argument he probably already dismissed it altogether.
infuriating or what?

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 17/10/2006 09:02

The only use men have is they are someone for us to nag

I'd really like to be able to say "they are only good for one thing", but most aren't very good at that either

backtoxoxoxo · 17/10/2006 09:07

Morning all: I seem to leave this web for a day or two and find 'war and peace' when I get back. Theme this week appears to be puke, doesn't it? HUgs to all - quick recovery/ies.
Looking forward to THursday when I can talk without LOs grabbing keyboard and shouting 'my turn, my turn'!

Have had an idea for next outing (shocking but we gotta plan these things!! This is my social life we're talking about here): Brula in St Mags (Crown Road) have an upper room (with roaring fire if cold) we could have without fear of creeping numbers.

Anyway, must think of Halloween name now....

2Cute · 17/10/2006 18:48

Oxo - think of a name for me too, I can't think of anything imaginative that goes with 2cute

lol at everyones posts re: men

Glad I'm not the only one that gets baffled by men! DH is wonderful at helping with things as long as its practical not emotional. As soon as there's an emotional issue, he's blank and thinks ignoring me will resolve the situation, like that helps A very wise woman once told me, "us women need to realise that almost all men have an emotional disorder". I think she was spot on! sfxmum - you're totally right, while we dwell on stuff, they've already forgotten everything. Enough moaning from me.

MrsBeDreadingTrickOrTreat · 17/10/2006 20:06

can't be bothered to do the dishes and kids are playing nicely so hmmm names...

sfxmum... sfxmummy
xoxoxo ... oxomurder
2cute... 2cute2bchuchysbride

not very original LOL but hey... it's worth a try

MrsBeDreadingTrickOrTreat · 17/10/2006 20:08

upps that should read 2cute2bChuckysbride

sfxmum · 17/10/2006 20:12

i thought sfx already covered all bases and implied threat of some kindare you bored?

unhallowed · 17/10/2006 21:07

I have really bad dry red patches around my eyes and on my cheeks. I started having these on my face and all over my body during pg. I used Eucerin lotion and Oilatum bath formula during pregnancy and that seemed to help. But Eucerin seems to be aggravate it now. It's worse when I go to the pool.

Did anyone have experience of this when they were pg? Any ideas what else will help?

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 17/10/2006 21:07

unhallowed - is that your halloween name?

I use Diprobase on any dry patches or if they are really bad, concenrated Vit E oil (but not the wheatgerm one as it irriates my skin)

2Cute · 17/10/2006 21:16

Ooh good names! Loving them both.
