Here's the general chit-chat thread for October

Synopsis please on what I've missed last week! Too pre-occupied for various reasons to wade through all threads. Thanks

pudding - your link

lemonaid · 13/10/2006 18:23

Newmum1000 -- are you definitely coming to Escale, then? I've put you down as a "probably" at the moment.

backtoxoxoxo · 13/10/2006 18:45

Forget your cheekbones MrsBigD: what knickers were you wearing? (OMG, just realised this is now a porn site). Did you go for sexy, oozing confidence or M&S practical?

Welcome newbies: most of us are fairly new. Most drink like fishes. I really worry sometimes, how can I keep up? (Convent school background, shy and retiring). Fatfox is expecting so has graciously become WestLondon MN cabs, although I think if things were different it would be hard to keep up with the girl!!

Sue: big fat poo. : must have lots of nice wine to accompany slagging off of bloody bureaucrats.

unmellow · 13/10/2006 18:46

Pudding - sorry to confuse you. I'm a little confused myself about how the 2 threads work so I thought I post in two place. Can someone enlighten me?

Anyway, Tuesday morning 10ish is good for me. DD goes to baby swimming in the afternoon. Anyone else who would like to join us is most welcome.

I'd like to hear more about your yoga class as well. I didn't realise there were yoga classes in Brentford outside of the Leisure Centre. I've been trying to get back into doing yoga since I had dd but I think I need the discipline of going to a proper class. Trying to do yoga between dd's naps is just not working.

lemonaid · 13/10/2006 19:03

In theory anything about daytime meet-ups goes in the day-time meets thread , anything about the evening meet-up of the moment goes in its own special thread and general chit-chat goes in the general thread (this one).

But in practice it all gets a bit blurred, particularly between the general thread and the other two, so you often end up just "talking" to people when you catch them, whichever thread it is. Until MrsBigD gets stern with us, anyway.

MrsBigD · 13/10/2006 19:10

lemonaide bet me to it AGAIN! outrageous we have to have words on Thursday ... especially how come that since I've done a photography course I seem to hate most pics I take . Which reminds me I really ought to wade through the 9GB of pics wee took at my brother's wedding and do something with them

Oxo shy and retiring?! yeah riiiiight and so am I, a fading wall flower me

Hi Newmum1000

Yes I can drink wine for England, but not at the mo' promising myself a glass of red later and a weepy movie as am feeling depressed (delayed reaction from last week's scare me thinks)

Puds - love that link

Last year I met a four year old girl, with lovely Iranian type dark ringlets. After some time, she "removed" her hair - it was a wig!!!! Seriously - was so shocked . Her Mum just said "oh, she loves wigs!!"

Yes it is the Turkish restaurant on he Kew Road, near Richmond roundabout.

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 13/10/2006 19:14

MrsBigD - have everything crossed for you

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 13/10/2006 19:16

BTW I am always up for a Saturday meet

suejoneziscalmernow · 13/10/2006 19:18

Foxie I'm also depressed - coffee tomorrow and we can weep into our latte/choclate?

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 13/10/2006 19:20

Sue - oooh yes please DS has a hair appointment at 11.30 but am free after that

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 13/10/2006 19:22

Wiziwhizzkidfizz - did you ring me today?

suejoneziscalmernow · 13/10/2006 19:25

how about a sandwich somewhere - M&S, Starbcks or we could go wild and go to the cafe on sandycombe road opposite Inn at Kew Gardens. Near the "allegedly" dodgy mac shop.

WiFiWhizzJustCallMeaGeek · 13/10/2006 19:34

evening all

sj, gutted to hear the news. am drowning your sorrows here for you.

ff, am also drowning your sorrows as you're depressed.

i am still so hormonal i start to cry at silly tv adverts! when will it end.

actually i'm depressed that dd is nearly one year old and i feel like i'm already forgetting bits of her childhood!

small update on dh, he has finally accepted the job offer and starts 1st Nov! thank the bluddy lord, maybe we can begin to create some sort of normal. come back on 3 months and i will complain of boredom and routine.

unmellow, i warned you about cross threading but it seems lemonaid is now usurping BigD. come along on 19th and take your punishment!

ff, yep i called you but you very rudely had your phone direct to voice mail and i wasn't organised enuff to leave a message. i was going to ask you about mini-bouncy thingies.

think i'll invest in 1 tomorrow as all this helping you lot to drown your sorrows is making me fat.

we've got a list of jobs to be done this weekend but i think we'll get to Kew on Sunday if anyone's keen?

MrsBigD · 13/10/2006 19:51

Shame can't do Kew on Sunday, this weekend is kids' party central! 2 tomorrow and one on Sunday

I'm happy to let lemonaid usurp me for a while... I've been a bit in a muddle so been slacking , but beware when I'm back to my old self 'hehehehehhe'

Pudding77 and unmellow - tues meet is hopeful. Not sure how far syon park is though - will need to look on map. Unmellow - next thurs would be ok for the cinema. My dd slept through the film last time but really don't think she will again. I'll prob have to leave halfway through she is such a fidget!! We can always wait until its a subtitled film or one we really want to see??

Lemonaid - put me down as a definite for next thurs - will be great to meet other WL mums.

Sorry for massive delay btw. I had a visitor and then my dd took 1 hour to get to sleep...

have good weekends all

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 13/10/2006 20:43

Sue - Shall we be daring and go to Sandycombe Road? I could meet you there on the way back from hair appointment - or is that too early (would be about 12.15ish)? I don't mind

Wizi - small bounce things? Are you referring to my breasts?

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 13/10/2006 20:52

Wizi - Oh that mini bouncy thing!!!

It is a Reebok Rebounder from Argos: Cat No: 302-6641. £24.99 and worth every penny!

Don't need a bar and can just lean against wall when not in use

pudding77 · 13/10/2006 21:24

Evening all, just a quick one before I head off to bed with my book, chocolate & a glass of wine !

Unmellow - my yoga class is at the leisure centre, Fridays 7-8.30pm and the teacher is really good. Which baby swimming class do you do? Shall we meet at about 10am then, or is that too early?

Whizzi - I can probably meet up on Sunday. Getting a whole day to go shopping tomorrow so dh would like a couple of hours to himself on Sunday. What time do you think you'll be going? I'll email you my mobile so you can let me know of any change in plans!

FF - I remember the hormones from being pg and like whizzi, they've hung around a bit as well! Hope you feel better tomorrow.

WiFiWhizzJustCallMeaGeek · 13/10/2006 21:57

oooh i quite like being called whizi, might just keep it!

13 year old next door has just had the most noisest birthday party! they're a great bunch tho and we've found it fun except for keeping dd awake poor bub.

suejoneziscalmernow · 13/10/2006 23:54

Foxie 12.15ish is fine - do you want to call me when you're on your way or should I just assume you'll be there around 12.15?

2Cute · 14/10/2006 00:10

FF's pg, Pudd and Whizzi have babies so weren't pg that long ago, my DS is 2.5 yrs so what's my excuse???!

Pudd - re yoga classses. Would be great if she teaches around Whitton/Twickenham/Teddington or Hounslow. If not then would love to join you, thanks luv!

God, it's 12:15am, why do I always get so late to sleep? BigD, can I hire you to organise my life please?

pudding77 · 14/10/2006 07:30

2cute - I've emailed her so I'll let you know.

Wizzi - I've emailed you now so you should have my number. Let me know if not!

MrsBigD · 14/10/2006 07:48

2cute... I have trouble atm organising my own life LOL mn seems to be the only thing giving me enough focus, or is it the prospect of getting out for a lovely childfree evening???

OP posts:
unmellow · 14/10/2006 08:15

Puds, 10 am would be fine. How will I find you? (even though it's probably not going to be busy).

Newmum, it would be great if you could join us.

Whizz, I have to blame in on nappy brain. Promise to keep on the straight and narrow.
