feel sexy? ya gotta be kidding me lemme see, tired as, haven't slept properly in ages despite having been on holiday, feeling totally bloated as due at the weekend... hmmm a mumu springs to mind

At least I've got a bit of colour due to holiday so will go for 'nude' make-up ;) but how could it otherwise be I just developed 2 oh so pitoresque cold sores!!! argh.

Pudding77 when you find out how to persuade your lo to sleep let me know, I might then apply the same during night times

All this talk about hair -> I'm going to book an appointment for next Wednesday

Wizi: who wasi you?

WiFiWhizzJustCallMeaGeek · 12/10/2006 19:50

he he he! i am the devil in disguise carrying a piece of wood............

ff, my job unfortunately isn't new but one i have been doing near on 5 years so a good shirk from home is relatively easy to pull off.

MrsB, well done on job interview front. definately go for whatever outfit makes you feel best and your naturally likeable personality will shine thru as you illustrate how fabulous a pa you are with fantastic organisational skills.

anyone that can organise us lot should be a shooo-in for any job i think!

god tomorrow is my 4th day working this week - i am absolutely shattered already.

pud, dd sleeps great for nanny and her grandma but just not for me! can't offer any advice this end i'm afraid but up there on the knackered from!

pudding77 · 12/10/2006 20:18

Well thanks anyway - at least I'm not the only one !

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 12/10/2006 21:08

MrsBigD - you just remined me that I don't have periods at the moment!! Was feeling a bit tired and down until I read your post, so thanks

By the way, am dead of your cheekbones! Where can I purchase some?

2Cute · 12/10/2006 23:01

BigD - Good luck for tomorrow...go with a big smile and I'm sure they'll luv ya!

Nanou and Geek - reality check girls...my hair nice

Pud - DS has never been a big napper either so my advice is load yourself with caffeine and put your feet up when he naps so you can re-charge your batteries!

suejoneziscalmernow · 13/10/2006 00:07

well as I'M a dynamic young accountant - you should wear...

Sensible colour trouser suit (ie navy or black)
With wacky colour shirt - burnt orange, silk if possible.

Any accountant who describes themselves as "dynamic young accountant" will want someone who fits in with their image (ie professional but hey man a bit cool, cos i'm not a typical accountant) but in reality treats them like a mother would ie organises their life down to the last expense claim.

MrsBigD · 13/10/2006 07:46

SJ so gotta look good AND be maternal? hmmmm should be able to master that. Now where was that thing one uses to get the creases out of clothes....

Nanou1 · 13/10/2006 09:59

Hi again. MrsBigD. fantastic news!!! and good luck! i see that i am the only one who was going to suggest burnt orange suit? bit a make up (don't need much with your sexy cheekbones!) hair? don't know BUT definitely suspenders!!!!! for whateveryouwanttocallit boost!!!!! but maybe SJ is right with dark suit and funky top/scarf??? what do the firm do?

MrsBigD · 13/10/2006 11:41

they're chartered accountants who need to update their website

OK going for nice shirt with sort of flowery motive, black skirt and dark green blazer with veloury type coller. My blue suit is in the wash after the wedding and the others are too big

Hair tied back in ponytail as not long enough yet for anything else, and oh boy does my fringe need trimming!

Tried make-up and washed it off again I'm going au naturel, thankfully I still have a tan. What's everybody on about my cheekbones? trust me they can cause problems too... if I loose weight I loose it in my face first and start looking positively mousy!

Oh better get my act together

I'll report back later

you go girl!!!!!! sending lots of positive vibes your way

unmellow · 13/10/2006 13:51

Hi,

I've just noticed the meet up thread has moved here. I'm new to the thread and I'm interested in meeting other Mumsnetters in the West London area. I live in Brentford myself. My lo is 6 months old so not quite ready for playdates yet. Basically I'm just dying for some grown-up company.

I'm not working at the mo so I would be free most weekdays. Other than Tue pm when my dd goes swimming, I'm free to meet up for a coffee etc.

WiFiWhizzJustCallMeaGeek · 13/10/2006 14:38

hi unmellow

we're such a mouthy bunch we've got heaps of West London Meet Up threads on the go!

WELCOME!!!

We've got General Chat, Daytime Meets and Escale Dinner 19th October.

MrsBigD keeps us in line and tries to stop us from chatting on the wrong thread but we are constantly naughty and ignore her!!!

In fact, I've forgotten which thread I'm on now.

Anyways, I'm in Isleworth and my DD is about to turn 12 months. I've recently returned to work 4 days per week tho.

Tuesday is my day off but at present I have to collect my mother around 3ish so mornings are better for me.

We quite often meet up at the ChildsPlayCafe in Chiswick and the Lollipop Club off Kew Road.
And of course Climbers and Creepers at Kew. Syon House is oft talked of but I've yet to go. Only been on MN for a month or two myself.

Talking of playdates, the nanny has taken my dd on her first one this morning. Her social life is better than mine that's for sure.

Anyways, welcome to our gang and I look forward to meeting you.

lemonaid · 13/10/2006 14:51

There's also a stats thread, but that's rather disappeared off into oblivion. I'll see if I can find it...

Newmum1000 · 13/10/2006 14:52

Hello everyone

So pleased to find this thread - I'm new to the board as well as being a new mum to Lilah who is three months old.

Would love to join the meet-ups if that's ok, will keep checking as to when they occur.

In the meantime, would like to do a shout out to anyone who lives in Acton and would like to meet up for a coffee or a walk in the park, let me know. I have some friends with babies but they tend not to live in the same area as me so need car/train/bus to see them, so would be nice to meet up with people within walking distance! My email is [email protected].

lemonaid · 13/10/2006 15:08

Hi Newmum!

Not sure we've got anyone actually in Acton at the moment. Of people around in the week quokka's in Gunnersbury, I think. And sfxmum and Tutter are in Kew (and suejonez will be at home in Kew for a few months when she arrives back from Kazakhstan).

Check in on the daytime meet-ups thread and I'm sure you'll be being bought coffee before you know it...

pudding77 · 13/10/2006 15:19

Lemonaid - you missed me {sad}. Hi newmum, I'm in Brentford & also around during the week!

pudding77 · 13/10/2006 15:20

even!

lemonaid · 13/10/2006 15:22

Actually, it's more my lousy grasp of geography than ignoring you -- am always a bit hazy on exactly where Brentwood is in relation to other places

pudding77 · 13/10/2006 15:25

I'm kind of between Gunnersbury & Kew! And I forgive you, my geography is lousy too! I always remember (and my dad never lets me forget) saying once about a train going to Torquay "how can a train get all the way to Japan"

Newmum1000 · 13/10/2006 15:26

Hi both!

Lemonaid - thanks for the heads up. Thought I'd try and see if there was anyone in Acton but doesn't really matter. Look forward to the meet-ups anyway.

Pudding 77 - nice to meet you. I'm around during the week too, at least until next May. Have you been to a parents and baby screening at the Watermans Arts Centre? I went a few weeks ago to see Volver. Great film and as subtitled was perfect for all the squawking babies!

Nanou1 · 13/10/2006 15:28

Hi New mum. am in ealing common / acton but work full time.... come and join us on 19th Oct! quite busy this weekend with birthday parties but maybe next weekend? otherwise will have to wait Xmas i am afraid... when i shall be free to play . cant stay am at work

pudding77 · 13/10/2006 15:30

I've not been to one yet because my NCT group was always on a Thursday morning but that's now changed to Fridays so will be able to go to one. Do you know what's coming up?

lemonaid · 13/10/2006 15:32

Notice the way in which I said "Brentwood" rather than "Brentford" there? You really don't want to ever take directions from me...
