A few degenerates seem to have the idea that some of us would for some reason once again want to get together for some drink and inane chatter somewhere in London sometime around Christmas.....

So with that in mind the date of 29 November is being paddled around.

Is this a special meet up for a clique of regulars or are we mostly total strangers...? I'd like to meet some real life MNers but worried I'll feel left out as don't know anyone! (Also not sure if I'd even be able to escape from my bottle refusing baby for a few hours by then...)

I only joined in June this year as that's when I became a mum.

Mamushka everyone is welcome! Some people will have never been to a meet up, some one or two, others a few more (i think I've been to about five) - please try and come!

I've always found that the meet up threads And Facebook groups Get really quite active in the run-up to the meet up. And so by the time it rolls around, you feel like you have a whole set of friends that you are just waiting to meet. It's still nerve wracking though

There is a FB group for this meet up BTW.

I am not very good at FB but apparently I am an admin so if anyone wants to PM me I will try to add you - try being the operative word!

We don't post venue details on the thread itself to keep away any.... undesirables, shall we say.

I think that maybe I might come. Lunchtime is much better so I don't have to negotiate a scary late night train.
Mind you I'm a rubbish conversationalist, but as long as others talk I'm a happy listener.

OK, LadyWithLapdog - could you please post your references? Because when I put "Wetherspoons UKIP" into Google (admittedly they might be part of the great conspiracy), all I got was "wetherspoons hates UKIP" stuff.... So, happy to start/continue a boycott if you're correct.

OYBBK - am I right in thinking you might come in to Victoria? We could meet up there (and maybe have a for Dutch courage) & proceed to meet up together? So much less scary to go in with a partner!!

UpWithWitch... perhaps ignoring my entire post is best! I was wrong about the 29th being a Sunday, so could as well be about Whetherspoons owner. If so, apologies for derailment. I'd still like to come, though. I'm meeting friends in the evening but I can do earlier, if DH can be with the kids.
