A few degenerates seem to have the idea that some of us would for some reason once again want to get together for some drink and inane chatter somewhere in London sometime around Christmas.....

So with that in mind the date of 29 November is being paddled around.

Ooh I like the idea, but suspect the reality might scare me a little too much (not you actual lovely people, but meeting 'strangers' socially and being stuck on my own in the corner).

What happens with photos? I do try and stay pretty anonymous here, I don't mind meeting a few mners, but I don't want my photo on fb for the local community and friends and family to see.

BadKitten, some photos do get shared on the FB group but as it is a closed / secret group, no one but people who were at the meet-up can see them.

Poirot (great name BTW) it's only scary for the first few minutes! Honest!

Chandos right next to Charing X station is very good and reasonably priced. From there you can get transport/night buses to almost everywhere in London too.

I mentioned this place to FruOla.

I don't care though. It's easy for me to go anywhere in central London. The best thing is meeting up and having a laugh. The last time was with Fru, hearts and stealthpolarbear at a bar and then Carluccio's in Waterloo and it was fun.

That's particularly to Mamushka. I kept wandering around a very sterile bar in Waterloo going up to tables of women saying: 'Hello. I'm from Mumsnet. I'm looking for someone called StealthPolarBear who's arranged a meet-up.' They stared at me. It would have been very humiliating if I wasn't already used to humiliation through my job.

Luckily I found Hearts and Fru at the bar.

Go for it.

And not forgetting SweetBabyJebus that night at Waterloo, limited. She is luffly - and has a great sense of humour too!
