A few degenerates seem to have the idea that some of us would for some reason once again want to get together for some drink and inane chatter somewhere in London sometime around Christmas.....

So with that in mind the date of 29 November is being paddled around.

Grin and Wine and much fun to be had!

EVERYONE welcome.

Day time drinking you say?
Count me in. Wine

FruVikingessOla · 11/10/2014 16:33

Hearts. Are you watching your own thread?!

It looks as though a few of us are on for a meet-up Grin

FruVikingessOla · 17/10/2014 19:31

?!

NotAnotherPackedLunchBox · 18/10/2014 20:06

Fru Är du lite törstig?

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 18/10/2014 22:49

Tempting...

FruVikingessOla · 19/10/2014 14:24

Nej, inte riktigt, NotAnother!

I was just wondering whether Hearts had forgotten she'd started this thread (I've met her a couple of times IRL), or whether this meet-up conversation is happening on Facebook? I'm not on FB!

Mintyy · 19/10/2014 17:11

Fru - I have a sad feeling that this meetup just ain't going to happen Sad.

There is a FB group but it is dead.

It seems incredible to me that there aren't enough people left on Mumsnet to muster up any enthusiasm for a Christmas meetup. Things have changed SO much on here in the past year.

FruVikingessOla · 19/10/2014 18:26

I get that feeling too, Mintyy.

Hearts is still around (I saw her posting last night!). But I know the Big Christmas Meet Ups take some organising. Also, some people have left, some have NCd, some have been banned (Shock) and the others have, maybe, given up on the idea altogether Sad

A mini, lunchtime meet up could be fun - I enjoyed the one in May 2013! But, I guess, it needs one of us to 'step up to the plate' to try to organise one.

Mintyy · 19/10/2014 18:29
Sad

Lunch time is nice for a meetup isn't it?

FruVikingessOla · 19/10/2014 18:37

Yes! I'm much better with that. One can get home late afternoon/early evening, sober up, have something to eat, go to bed at a sensible time - and then feel fine the next morning.

I'm useless at getting home utterly trollied late at night and feeling like shite the next day.

But, I expect it's my age Grin

whattodoforthebest2 · 19/10/2014 18:41

Don't know how I missed this before, but can I come too? (If it's on, that is...) Lunchtime, evening, anytime Blush

Mintyy · 19/10/2014 18:42

I'm with you on the age thing honeybunch.

Also, its better for folks coming out of town - not having to stay the night due to pissedness, and not having to share tubes and trains home with all the London office workers who've been on their Christmas do's and drunk 10 too many tequilas.

cardamomginger · 19/10/2014 18:51

I'm up for it, but can only do early evening.

(thanks for pointing me this way fru)

Mintyy · 19/10/2014 19:09

Doesn't have to be the 29th if people prefer another day?

wibblyjelly · 19/10/2014 19:18

I'll try and come depending on where and when (and if you'll have me!)

Mintyy · 19/10/2014 19:41

wibbly - all are welcome on meetups Grin, but it depends on enough people actually wanting to come!

Mintyy · 20/10/2014 11:50
Tropicalchancer · 20/10/2014 11:53

I'm in! But work till 5 so would be an evening visit for me if you are all still going?

FruVikingessOla · 20/10/2014 20:37

You smell lovely, Mintyy, as always Flowers

I think we'd be aiming for a Saturday lunchtime? Even if not the 29th Nov?

wibblyjelly · 20/10/2014 21:01

Yay, hope I can make it!

limitedperiodonly · 22/10/2014 17:51

Oh no, I came on this because I was sure someone else would have organised something and I could just turn up.

Shall we do something for a lunchtime that goes on until 5ish, no matter how small? Then we can all sit quietly on the bus home and pretend we're sober.

I am a crappy organiser, but would it be best to say where we live and where we can travel to, and place we like and take it from there?

I'm Pimlico/Victoria.

FrighteningVikingOoh · 22/10/2014 18:07

I'm SW London, so Pimlico/Victoria is easy for me.

TBH, central (or near to an easy-to-get-to station) is good I guess.

PotOfYoghurt · 22/10/2014 18:18

Is there room for a pot?

FrighteningVikingOoh · 22/10/2014 18:22

Yes, of course - we like Pots!

Although we've neither decided on a date nor a venue yet - but all welcome, the more the merrier Wine Grin
