Hello! Is anyone around to meet up on Tues afternoon with me and 21 month old dd? Paddlechick, we might go to Kew - go there a lot and I am forever finding those orangy rubber bits from the Creepers & Climbers pit all over the house!

YanksUponThames · 06/10/2006 15:36

Hee hee bunyanvillas - I too am very familiar with the orange rubber bits from Climbers & Creepers!! My anal-retentive-fastidious ds usually does not manage to transport them home in his clothing -- but honestly, given the time he's spent bobbling around in there, I'm kind of surprised we don't see more of it on our floor! Or the filter of the washing machine.

YanksUponThames · 06/10/2006 15:40

I think that ds usually avoids transporting home the orange rubber bits because he usually runs around on the grass in various places for a while before we drag him home, during which time he usually manages to avoid stepping in the goose poo that is liberally spread throughout the gras...

bunyanvillas · 06/10/2006 16:29

Oh, we tend to have the goose poo plus a nappy FULL of the orange bits. How does she do it?? And then DD is forever picking the bits up off the floor - her way of pointing out that I am a slattern on the housework front!

Paddlechick666 · 06/10/2006 18:24

lol, i heard about the fabled orange bits of C&C and lo and behold after our first visit DD was shedding them everywhere!

how i do not know as she had tights and a pinafore dress on.

would love to do kew on tuesday but at present i generally have to be in hillingdon for 3ish to collect Grandma for her 2 day childcare stint.

will keep you posted for next week tho and i vaguely recall that things may be different.

good to see you this arvo Yanks - if briefly. we'll deff have to discuss possible shares - this would be beginning in january.

2cute, yeap tues is my only day off from now on unless some lotto luck has rubbed off on me!

Is anyone meeting up tomorrow? I'm thinking of heading to Kew though it will pretty much be early morning when I go.

Quokka - are you going to Pandemonium on Weds?

Paddlechick666 · 09/10/2006 21:38

was thinking kew in arvo but looks like i'm doing driving duties for grandma and dh all day now

have fun, catchya soon

YanksUponThames · 09/10/2006 23:25

Mmmm....I was thinking about Kew tomorrow, too, and was wondering if anyone else can go, but I can't do very early in the morning. Dh is on a late-ish getting-to-work schedule (avoiding peak crush times on train) and therefore our whole household is a bit slow in the mornings compared to (probably) a lot of other people...

So, don't think I'll be able to show up very early, but may well go later in morning/early afternoon unless it pours rain or something.
I think the climbers & creepers play space in Kew doesn't open until 10-10:30am in any case...

pudding77 · 10/10/2006 06:33

Hi yanks - as you can see we've had an early start this morning [yawning]. C&C opens at 10.30 so would you like to meet then?

quokka · 10/10/2006 09:31

Pudd will try and make it to music class, missed last week - I totally forgot . Although it will depend on the state of the house as I have estate agent doing an evalutaion in the early arvo. They were meant to come yesterday, as soon as the cleaner had done her magic!

quokka · 11/10/2006 08:31

not going to make it to music this morning pud. Have to get the house ready for estate agent .

pudding77 · 11/10/2006 09:02

Ok, I'm sure you'd much rather be out! Are you thinking of moving?

quokka · 11/10/2006 09:29

maybe, but I am still to be convinced! If dh office moves to Victoria (tube station) then we might move to sussex. Also we have only one school in our catchment area and it has a terrible ofstead report and reputation. Just waiting to see what the latest ofstead report says as it's been 5 yrs since the last one . Also school is not close enough to walk to, I would have to drive which I think is really silly. There was a school close by but that has been sold and is now a language school

NotOXOcubebutkisshugkisshug · 12/10/2006 09:03

kids are driving me mad already. Am going to Lollypop club this morning - anyone interested?

pudding77 · 12/10/2006 09:44

I can't believe we're already having to think about schools & things!

2Cute · 12/10/2006 12:24

Any1 up for meeting tomorrow? Morning or afternoon is fine I'm flexible (in more ways than one!) We shut down between 12 and 2 so any time around that is fine.

pudding77 · 12/10/2006 12:50

I could meet tomorrow pm but probably not until about 3.30-ish

backtoxoxoxo · 12/10/2006 18:07

sorry can't play tmrw but have learnt a big lesson today about ds: he can't cope with lollypop, followed by school, followd by football.
he refused to do football - full tantrum, wailing, stamping - the works! He hasn't done that for years. So, from now on it's either pre or post school activity, not both.

Just when I thought I was getting my head around this 'mum' business the little sods revise my plans. Oh well, back to drawing board.

suejoneziscalmernow · 13/10/2006 00:57

I'm busy tomorrow in a frnatic round of Embassies, banks and travel agents but would be available for a quick coffee in Kew on Saturday at some point...

quokka · 13/10/2006 12:16

wont be long now and you'll be joining us at meetups with your lo!

unmellow · 13/10/2006 13:34

Hi,

I'm new to the thread and I would like to meet up with other Mumsnetters in the area. My lo is 6 months old. So I'm just hankering for some grown-up company. She's not really old enough to play with other kids yet.

I'm not working at the moment so I'm free most weekdays and weekends.

pudding77 · 13/10/2006 13:42

Hi unmellow, I'm fairly new to this thread as well. I have a ds who's 8 months old so also doesn't really play with others as such (unless you count grabbing their hair & faces!). I'm a sahm as well so usually around during the week - weekends tend to be family time!

unmellow · 13/10/2006 13:57

Hello pudding77,

Yes, my dd is into the same - hair pulling and sticking her little fingers into nostrils! It would be lovely to arrange to meet up for a coffee etc on a weekday. I prefer weekdays as well as my dh works long hours on weekdays and I only get to see him properly on weekends.

DD goes swimming on Tuesday pm, other than that, I'm pretty free. Let me know when you like to have a coffee etc.

unmellow · 13/10/2006 17:17

Hi pudding,

Would you like to meet up for a coffee next Tuesday am in Syon Park's coffee place? If the weather is awful, we could move to Grounds in Brentford Lock.

pudding77 · 13/10/2006 17:38

unmellow - it gets a bit confusing, I've just posted to you on one of the other threads as well! Yes, I can meet up on Tuesday - do you prefer morning or afternoon?
