SAHM's, Part-time workers and of course slackers here we go:

Friday 22nd Sept - Who fancies meeting up this Friday? How's about sticking to the good old Lollipop Club (unless any1 has any other suggestions) seeing as it's forecasted to rain?

Friday 29th Sept - Child's Play Cafe (Chiswick) -what time suits everyone to fit around nap times etc? Childs Play Cafe

1st week of Oct - um....ah...???

I'm so proud of myself - I've taught myself to knit today, I can cast on & everything (well not everything, can't purl or cast off yet so could be a very very long scarf )!

Uwila · 04/10/2006 17:33

Is this thread still about day time meet ups???

Who is coming to C & C at Kew tomorrow? As I recall the time was 10:30.

I have so far enjoyed my week of SAHM, but not quite as much as I am going to enjoy next week when DH will endure SAHD for 9 days. Just hope averyone is still alive when I return!!!

pudding77 · 04/10/2006 18:47

I think it is still meant to be for daytime meets!! I can't come tomorrow but hope you all have a nice time.

Does anyone want to do anything on Friday? Lollipop club perhaps?

Uwila · 04/10/2006 19:03

Sorry, I've got a plane to catch.

quokka · 04/10/2006 19:04

Uwila I'll be there

quokka · 04/10/2006 19:07

Pud have to get ds haircut on fri, he has a full on ginger frizz in the mornings

Paddlechick666 · 04/10/2006 19:14

can't make tomorrow despite booking entire week off to sort out childcare as have got 2 very dear friends here from O/S unexpectadley.

have to take them to Stansted for their outward flight tomorrow.

did anyone see my post about going to a "Sling Meet" to find out more and try out etc?

The venue has been changed to the Chiswick CPC on Friday 11am start. I'll be going but not sure what time yet.

PMSL @ Quokka, poor little laddie!

Hey! Sorry I'm bopping in & out at infrequent intervals, but... I can show up at Kew tomorrow! Is it 10:30 then? Just let me know. I can appear at whichever entrance works for everyone. I assume Victoria Gate is the main one everyone is shooting for. Or, I can appear with ds at the Creepers & Climbers play space at any designated time.

YanksUponThames · 04/10/2006 19:25

So, PC666, you're going to CPC again on Friday instead of Lollipop Club?

Lollipop Club I can walk to, CPC means bus or sponging a ride...

YanksUponThames · 04/10/2006 19:30

I can relate to intruding visitors from out of town. My MIL and SIL will be arriving next Saturday morning.....and, @#$%!!, because we'll be tootling about tourist-ing and on the Normandy coast during the following week, I won't be able to show up at the dinner at L'Escale on the Thursday!!! @#$%!!!!!!!!

Which tees me off, because I actually like MIL and SIL and they're decent people. But naturally they would show up and be staying here just when there are other things scheduled.

2Cute · 04/10/2006 21:06

Uwila - I won't be able to make it tomorrow but hope you gals have a fab time. Will you be coming to the Lollipop on Friday? I'll be going at around 10:30ish.

BTW - BigKat's sister had a baby boy today!

OP posts:
Uwila · 04/10/2006 21:14

oh Yippee for Biglat and her sister!!!

How come you know and I don't?!?!?!?!?

Afraid I can't make Friday as I'll be on my way to Heathrow.

2Cute · 04/10/2006 22:23

What can I say but I'm the lady in the know...

Duh I'm so stupid, you did say you're flying on Friday! I'll be flying to Dublin Friday evening to see old uni friends...not quite as exciting as your trip though.

quokka · 05/10/2006 08:39

right if anyone needs a pass to get it then I will be at Victoria gate at 10:30. Looks like its just Yanks and Uwila at the mo?

pudding77 · 05/10/2006 18:44

Hi everyone, can't stay long tonight! How was Kew? Does anyone fancy meeting up tomorrow?

Paddlechick666 · 05/10/2006 22:57

Im going to CPC tomorrow for my hippy chick sling wearing thingy.

Yanks, I'd offer a lift but tomorrow morning is going to be pretty busy/stressy. Also I am getting there for 11am and will leave about 12ish as DD is spending arvo with nanny again.

Hope kew was fun, will try to make next one.

I won't be able to make it to the Lollipop I'll be visiting the nursery I wanted DS to go to in April but they're fully booked 'til next September. I had no idea finding good nurseries was this stressfull! Any tips?

OP posts:
BigKat · 05/10/2006 23:39

DS needs to run around tomorrow AM- I am still planning to show at Lollipop-
Yanks - 2cute -Pudding ??? Are you still keen??

pudding77 · 06/10/2006 07:24

I'm still going to go today, probably aim to get there for around 10-10.30 but all depends on when ds has his nap and how long for!

Congratulations to your sister BigKat! hope they're both doing well

BigKat · 06/10/2006 07:33

Hi Pudding- will aim to get there for 10.30 too. Sis is doing well- they were kept in overnight Wednesday as DS was wheezing - but all seems okay now...I will be off to see her after Lollipop which is half way.

Paddlechick666 · 06/10/2006 08:59

have fun at lollipop - maybe we can go again tuesday which is my day off? or kew perhaps?

congrats to your sis BigKat, I'd be getting broody with a newborn too! Another few months and we'll all be cooing over FF's new cub.

2Cute, good luck with nurseries. I ended up doing a search on Ofsted for all my local ones then did a few visits.

Asquith and Teddies were great with excellent reports but their prices were equivilant to a part time/share nanny.

give me a buzz if you want to ahve a chat and good luck.

PC666

lemonaid · 06/10/2006 09:14

Our local Asquiths has a bit of a dodgy rep. We are very lucky with DS's nursery (although it's very expensive). Now you need to get them on the list at least a year before you want the place, although it was only about 6 months when we signed him up.

Could be worth putting him on the waiting list, 2Cute -- places will come up from time to time as families move out of the area. And then you can set about stalking local families until they do move out of the area...

YanksUponThames · 06/10/2006 09:35

Hello! I should be able to show up at Lollipop in a while, hopefully by 10:30 or so. Ds has been sleeping all too well! which is a good thing in many ways...but I still need to shovel a decent breakfast into him first 'cos otherwise he'll have fun playing and forget he's hungry!

PC666, sounds like you've had an interesting week! Hope you have a chance to relax a bit soon! If you want to do something Tuesday, I'm game. Let me know what time frame/area etc...

pudding77 · 06/10/2006 11:02

Sorry I didn't make it! After all that, ds decided that he didn't want a nap until after his bottle at 10! Maybe next time!

2Cute · 06/10/2006 12:14

PC666 & Lemonaid thanks for the advice I took DS to Playwam (Teddington) this morning and we loved it. He's usually quite shy at first when he's in a new environment but he was off doing his own thing as soon as we entered. Problem is they're fully booked til next Sept so I might have to resort to stalking people like you said Lemonaid!

Paddle - I'm going by the ofsted website as well and Teddies sounded good so going there on Tuesday. It's hard work. Are you only off on Tuesday? Will definately arrange to do something

Have a lovely weekend every1
