God I'm so jealous! I've only discovered mumsnet since moving out to the States (and having a lot of time on my hands!) and there you all are in my old stamping ground. I was brought up in Faversham, moved to Ashford, and best friend lives in Deal. The Ringlestone pub is gorgeous - making me really mopey with homesickness just thinking about it. Wish I was there - nearest mner to me here is about seven states and two time zones away! Have fun if you do manage a get together

rsv1000r · 24/05/2004 18:03

I would be up for meeting - any night except Wednesday and Thursday is generally ok for me - provided dh is not on nights. Hopefully there won't be any tummy bugs preventing me attendnig the next one.

LucyJones · 24/05/2004 18:30

Monday, Wednesday and Thursday nights would be good for me if that helps - perhaps we could have two meet-ups, one in Canterbury and one in Maidstone so evryone gets to go

LucyJones · 24/05/2004 18:30

and some people can go twice!

Aero · 24/05/2004 18:44

I'm in Chatham, so not too far away.

LucyJones · 24/05/2004 18:55

Are you up for Canterbury then Aero?

Lisa2912 · 24/05/2004 19:04

Sounds like a good idea to have two meetups... any evenings bar Fridays tend to work well for me and if we arrange it a week or so in advance, DH will definitely be able to be around. For the Maidstone meetup, Freckle, from memory you couldn't easily do Fridays, and rsv1000r you are not good for Weds or Thurs - shall we make it a Tuesday night? I know Harman can't easily get online at the moment but it would be good if she could make it too.... Freckle, I don't know if you have any other way of contacting her? Also, all others in Maidstone please say whether a Tuesday night would be good. How about 8 June?

Freckle · 24/05/2004 19:25

Tuesdays are only good for me if dh is prepared to do the Cubs run with DS3 in tow. Wednesdays and Thursdays are my best nights, with Mondays a possibility. I can do Maidstone or Canterbury or Ashford!

Freckle · 24/05/2004 19:27

Re: Harman. I have her email address, but that doesn't particularly help if she can't get online much. I'm sure she'll be checking as often as she can and will respond when she is able. It might be that she can't get out of an evening due to childcare problems. Also, when is she due??

LucyJones · 24/05/2004 20:09

Okay! Looks like we're getting organised! Freckle, and any other Canterbury mums, pick a Wednesday or Thursday in June - we could either meet outside the cathedral or perhaps in one of the Wetherspoons to start with?

LucyJones · 24/05/2004 20:09

I mean mums who can meet in Canterbury

Lisa2912 · 24/05/2004 20:44

Ooh, it's getting complicated for Maidstone alone! rsv1000r can't do Weds or Thurs, and Freckle's best nights are Weds and Thurs! How about a Monday (sorry, I know that's not great for you Freckle but you did say it might be possible). The other question is timing - does it help if we meet later eg 8pm?

Mon or Tue fine by me though dh has come home in no fit state tonight!!! Some celebration or other at work but it's not that frequent that he does that! Canterbury is a bit far as am still bf little 'un and also have 12 and 3pm pick-ups. Roll on Sept when ds1 starts school.

Aero · 24/05/2004 21:37

Did I say ds1? Meant dd. All this abbreviating is soooooo confusing!Ds1 is at school already.

Lisa2912 · 25/05/2004 08:50

Mondays are fine for me, but can't do 7 june, only 14 and 21 - any use for anybody for Maidstone meet-up?

Aero · 25/05/2004 16:10

could probably do 14th. Am away 21st. Getting nervous now but reckon I'm up for it.

sarochka · 25/05/2004 19:08

I could do Canterbury or Maidstone - though Canterbury somewhat easier. Any night so long as know in advance and babysitter remembers!!! Hope every one doing ok.
Tessie: Nothing wrong with being Deal born and bred. My parents moved to Dover when I was 17 have since moved myself about and came back for the babysitting! Not too bad so far. Do work full time though which is sometimes a pain. Kids safari good meet as something for everyone. Not my favourite place but dd likes it or Huff n Puff in Folkestone. Don't like new place. Not easy to keep eye on small ones....

Tessiebear · 25/05/2004 19:18

Saro:My DS1 &2 love Kid Safari and Huff and puff

LucyJones · 25/05/2004 19:38

Hi Saro - how old are your kids? I've got a ds who is 2 months, I'm 29.

sarochka · 25/05/2004 20:28

my dd is 2 and a bit and I am 33! I find this a bit weird at times

LucyJones · 26/05/2004 08:34

Hi Saro - yes I know what you mean. Would you like to meet in the day any time in Canterbury? It might be easier than trying to arrange a babysitter! Anyone else welcome of course.

caro16 · 26/05/2004 13:00

hi wud love to talk to anyone over the age of 2 im in chatham, caro

sarochka · 26/05/2004 18:42

Lucy that would be fine. It's half term next week so am on holiday. ( am a teacher) Is anyone about then ?

Tessiebear · 26/05/2004 18:50

Saro, would definatlely be up for a daytime meet up with the kids in half term. Have never done a mumsnet meetup (only been on it for a few weeks)
