Better without kids, but I can't think of anywhere. Pub?

sarochka · 09/04/2004 08:45

Pub could be good. My D is 2 and a bit. I also work full time but now have 2 weeks off for Easter yippee.

MeanBean · 09/04/2004 13:44

Pub sounds like a good option if it's going to be without kids. I'm away until end of April (yippee!) - do we want to do it in term time?

Dixie · 10/04/2004 19:16

hi I live near Bluewater & would be interested in joining in the meet up if not too far & dependable on dates & times as I am a single mother of two so babysitter problems involved.

however, whenever I opt in for a kent meet up I seem to give it the kiss of death as it fizzles out....hope to be proved wrong this time.....

so lets get planning Ladies!!

Freckle · 10/04/2004 19:26

Well, Ashford seems to be the most central point at the moment. I personally would prefer term-time, so that I don't have to entertain 3 lively boys at the same time as getting to know some lovely ladies I'm meeting for the first time Obviously some of you will have pre-schoolers/babies with you, so how about a pub with a children's area/soft play section? Tallulah, do you know of any?

Soulfly · 10/04/2004 20:17

I have been to that new play centre Harman its good, just thought i would add that bit in, lol.

tallulah · 17/04/2004 12:08

Been away & this thread seems to have died. I work full time so an evening meet would be better. I don't know of any pubs with a children's area because we don't go out much & mine are teenagers anyway. The Singleton Barn near me has a garden (& parking!) but I haven't been there for years. Sorry, not being much help here!

sarochka · 18/04/2004 14:15

I think that an evening meet would be great. I do not know Ashford that well not having been out there for some time. I think that we should get this thread going again but the holiday time is always more difficult to manage.

happycat · 19/04/2004 15:32

I live near bluewater and would like to come if thats o.k but don't know Ashford ?

happycat · 19/04/2004 15:33

Dixie where abouts do you live then I always say bluewater because most people seem to know where that is

Twinkie · 19/04/2004 15:43

I live SE London/Kent so would love to come to one - Ashford is too far for me though especially in the evening DD would have to be in bed and it takes me at least an hour to get back from Ashford!!

happycat · 19/04/2004 16:03

me too how about chatham ,rochester or even bluewater

tallulah · 19/04/2004 19:45

Ashford was suggested as there is someone from Dover & Folkestone. I find Bluewater just that bit too far from Ashford, so from Dover it's probably out of the question.

I don't mind a trip as far as Maidstone/Chatham/Rochester, but no further!

sarochka · 19/04/2004 23:01

Bluewater would be just that bit too far for me. I could do Maidstone or somewher like that though. I think someone else was from Folkestone

Well, if Maidstone is becoming the favoured option, how about somewhere just off the M20, such as Henry's Place at Notcutts or that Beefeater/Brewster's place at Larkfield? Easy enough to find once off the motorway.

womba1 · 20/04/2004 22:56

I can't believe i've only just found this thread! I live in Rochester and would love to meet up with you all!

My main problem being that I haven't got a car... but other than that..let me know where and when?

tallulah · 21/04/2004 17:21

Maidstone is fine- don't know either of those places, Freckle- do they have free parking?

As to dates- any ideas? PLEASE not Mondays!!!! (& actually Wednesday is going to be dodgy too- off to first dog class tonight!).

Other than that, quite happy to fit in with everyone else.

(By the way- do we all have to wear name badges )

Freckle · 21/04/2004 18:06

Both are pubs with plenty of free parking. Each is just off an exit off the M20, so no complicated directions through town, etc. Most nights are good for me apart from Tuesdays and Fridays because of after-school activities, provided I can give dh plenty of notice so that he can be home in time.

happycat · 23/04/2004 15:05

Anymore thoughts Notcuts area is easy for me to find too.I get lost in maidstone town center

We're going on holiday on 20th... before that please!

sarochka · 24/04/2004 07:08

This sounds great. I think I know where that Nottcuts is too. I would also need to give dh plenty of notice but any night of the week should be fine. I would then have an exscuse to go out on a school night!! A rare occurence these days:}

Dixie · 24/04/2004 15:30

not been on for a while...looks like the option is notcutts(never heard of it but if someone can let me know more details I'll look it up in map book)

Is this now an evening thing? if so best dates for me are fri 30th april, fri 14th may as my ex has the kids so babysitting not a problem. if other dates are put forward I may be able to arrange babysitter if enough notice.

Happycat..i also say i live near bluewater as no one appears to ever heard of Swanscombe which is my actual area, where abouts are you then?

happycat · 25/04/2004 19:57

dixie I live in Gravesend
